Taming & KO Tips

How do I tame a equus? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a equus.
For Ark Mobile: Use ghille suit for easy taming. Do not mount. If you mount it and feed it rockcarrots for some reason the taming percentage it gives is lesser than of unmounted feeding. I tamed a lvl 150 equus and fed it rockcarrots with 10x balm unmounted it increased 20.7% but when i mounted it and fed it rockcarrots it only increased by 6.3%. Be warned.
Feed them Carrots and don’t knock them out 😀
This horse is so annoying to tame, it's a passive tame that will take you busy for so long...
In mobile it won’t knock you out it will run in circles in the same place. That happened with me when I tamed the equus.
Firstly, why did it take 8 dilo kibble and 20 rockarrots to tame a level 3... Dododex said it would take 1 kibble but that’s alright I happened to have a rockarrot farm for this reason lol. Taming the horses is difficult because they kept spawning by rexs and scorpions but they tent to run in small circles for me. Bring lots of carrots!
(mobile) Taming effective rate varies incredibly even on one single equus...I resurrected a lv150 wild eerie equus and reloaded the save 5 times. All attempts were done with 10x soothing balm and 3 dilo kibbles. It took two kibble on three tries, three kibble on one try, and the last attempt left me with zero kibbles and around 60% taming bar. I don't know why it's so different, I mean it's the same equus! Well, anyway, best save your game before trying to tame one of them, if you aren't doing so already.
To tame these guys, you need to go and find a place where you know they spawn, then make a four by four structure two walls high. And then get a argaventise and grab the equus, then put it in the safe structure, nothing SHOULD see you if you stay inside with the equus, but, they usually need rockarrots, but sometimes other things, but I would suggest get some seeds and grow atleast 50 carrots, then when you have your taming food, you can either wait a while for them to get hungry each time, or every minute or two mount them, feed them quickly, then get off, if you do everything correctly you should get your horse! Goodluck! Hope this helped!
Use triangle on ps4 to feed it when mounted only when it bucks
What you need for taming an equus,
1. Ghillie armor
2. 10 rockarrot
3. A tame that is in the area
4. Food for the equus (put in inventory)
FYI it takes 8 Carrots to tame not 4
When taming these guys, I recommend two things:
1. Get it in a taming pen either by carrying it and dropping it in or by knocking it out and building the pen around it.
2. Bring at least a full stack of carrots —they spoil kinda quick, plus they only give a tiny bit of progress.

Why did no one tell me you need to be at least lvl 10 to be able to tame one? Yeah, you need to be at least lvl 10!
Does anyone know what it means when you tame it and it says lazy equus?(does it mean anything)
When mine was getting tamed in redwood he was like running in a same trail because there was a large fallen redwood tree on one side and on other it was the redwood sapling and there was a terror bird but eventually he was lured by a gallilimus (sorry if I misspelled) at that time I thought gallilimus was an avatar of God haha anyways he is still alive (equus)
HOW TO TAME ON MOBILE (you’ll need an argy)
1. Find one while on argy (MUST be on ARK mobile)
2. Pick up equus using argy
3. Take to a 4x4 building with no roof
4. Drop in 4x4 building
5. Go in 4x4 building
6. Feed rock carrots
Enjoy your new tame hope this helps
I recommend rockarrot for taming them it tames faster
Here's a proper way for getting early versatile mount on mobile, first, get something like raptor (to actually find an equus)
Next you wanna do the hunter cave to get a balm, but I prefer Saving the balm you get from piranha hunting pursuit xd
At last, get some rockarrots(Trike/Stegois the best for it. You can try farming using a medium crop plot too, they're pretty common in loot drops) and start the pursuit and go searching for them
I find "the forest near the soo called volcano mountain and the whole area around green obelisk" the best places for finding equus
Wherever you find them, just soothe them with balm then feed carrots and you got yourself a very versatile mount

(Ark Mobile) I tamed it by going rodeo with it hahaha,This is how I do it
1. Sneak on it and when I close enough I dash and quickly ride it
2. Quickly feed it with rockarrot to soothe it before it's bucks you off
3. Don't spam feed, give one at the time,if you accidentally double tap two rockarrot it's will bucks you off (it's don't like force feed haha)
4. When it's hungry it's will try to bucks off you again, feed to calm it again
5. Pursuit ask you to collect 5 rockarrot only but I would recommend brought a lot as it's spoils fast and you might need to travel finding it
6. I found it on the way to the volcano on left side. They slightly near the volcano on green grass part
7. There was titanoboa, raptor, titanoboa, pusmonocus, baryonx when I was there so careful
P/s: I don't know if it's effective than other taming method but I have fun this way, I don't have to sneak on it all the time and chase it around towards predators,it's just goes back and forth ( I clutch to it for my dear life hahahaha xD) Good luck everyone if trying it xD
NO MATTER WHAT LEVEL IT IS, you need to have TONS of Rocarts before starting. I suggest a farm (I did have to use fertilizer to get my farm to produce tho :/) and (for mobile players) definitely make sure your phone isn't about to die. These things take ridiculous amounts of time to take. Good luck, and happy hunting!
I would not recommend taming a high lvl. If you have the resources, by no means go ahead and get him but I found out recently that it takes an absolute butt load of Rockarrots (100 for a lvl 95) to tame him. It took a very long time and in the long run, I didn’t even get him. Not to mention, you have to have extreme focus not to let him buck you off and lose taming progress for that long of a time.
