How do I tame a equus? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a equus.
Fricking Brontos and Rexs are easier to take then this
From the creators of Ford Mustang bring you ford equus
Soothing balm, use it , rockcarrots, feed it
A great travelling companion on many of the Ark maps. The Equus has a unique taming method, where you must walk up to it, feed it(their preferred food is Rockarrots), and ride it. The horse will attempt to buck you off, but when it does, press the prompted button and you will stay on and increase its taming percentage. You cannot control the horse while you are riding a wild one, so be sure to clear out the area you decide to tame it in.
You don't need to see were it went just get rockarrots and feed then ride keep feeding
And boom got yourself an equus.up so beginners can see
It will run half the map away from you
Until it runs into a Rex
Been through scorched earth on a equus with no name. It felt good to be out of the rain. Cause in SE you can remember your name, cause there ain't no one for to give ya no pain. After 9 days I let the equus run free cause the desert had turned to sea. There were plants and birds and rocks and things, there was sand and hills and rings.
They are in game and are a passive tame! To tame, use a rockarrot or Troodon kibble, put it in the last slot in your hot bar and feed it. Once fed, press 'e' to ride. At this point it will either try to buck you off or it'll run around. If it tries to buck you off, press 'e' again. Keep doing this process every time it tries to buck you off.
Equus' can be ridden with or without a saddle! Happy taming c: ❤
Instead of stupid crap how about Actual tips on how to tame things
Don't try to tame these with mejoberries, I swear this took longer than an entire d&d session.
There is also a rare unicorn tame but there is only one on the map at a time.
On Ark: Ultimate Mobile, go on Ragnarok in the HighLands and get a few Rocarrots, equus spawn there too, seek for a lvl you want and get behind him crouched(Tip: First person its easy to go, since u dont touch them) and just feed, and never, when i say NEVER mount them, they would knock u out and run away if you do that. The real tip is, just feed it when he gets hungry like a normal passive taming. Now you can run around the map in a horse with NoName, and seek for what u want.
Annother tip, hes a really good mount to help tame another creatures on early game since u can use his saddle as a mortar, just gather alot of narcoberrys with him and be happy making an good amount of narcotics.
Taming one of these is a pain, which is what I named mine after taming a level one hundred. Here's what you'll need:
•An Argentavis
•A passive tame pen, ideally 4x4
•Dilophosaur kibble or Rockaroot.
Depending on the level, I’d say grab a minimum of 50 and a max of 150 Rockaroots, as for kibble you should be fine with 15-20 of them.
Here's a few pointers;
•Start the tame an Equus quest on mobile.
•Find a decent leveled Equus.
•Carry it to your passive take pen and drop it in.
•Equip the taming food on your very last hotbar slot.
•Sneak up on the Equus and feed it then immediately mount.
•Once mounted feed it only when hungry.
Sooner or later you'll have one.
The benefits definitely show once obtained, they knock out most dinos with a few kicks and you can lasso the ones knocked inside of water as well. They also act as a traveling mortar and pestle so keep some spoiled meat and narcoberries on you.
My Equus was level 100, turned 149 after 99.9% efficiency taking. It took around half an hour and 100 Rockaroots over all. Hopefully this helps!
THIS IS A PASSIVE TAME DO NOT KNOCK IT OUT
Quick tip: I was trying to tame one at my house and it bucked me off and my other tames thought it was hurting me so they killed it. Long story short, put all your other tames on passive if you want to tame it at your house.
Step 1: ride it
Step 2: feed it rockcarrot when it try’s to buck you of
Step 3:DONT DISMOUNT DONT LET IT BUCK YOU OF
Step 4:DONT LET A DINOSAUR HIT IT
Step 5:when tamed take it to safety
Extra tip:if you want more copy the steps
Give your equus focal chili which will give 100% extra crafting speed and 25% extra speed then craft narcotic and stimulate really fast! people can see
Here’s how to tame an Equus:
1-Bring at least 50-100 rockcarrots, in case the Equus needed a lot of rockcarrots to tame, or if the rockcarrots spoil.
2-Wear full ghillie armor, and go to an area where Equus are located.
3-Sneak up behind it, don’t get very close or touch it, feed it the rockcarrots.(In Ark Survival Evolved Mobile, don’t mount it, because when you’re mounting it and feed it, the taming goes up by 2%, but feeding it while not mounting it, the taming goes up by 20%).
4-Don’t unlock the Equus saddle engram, the game will reward you with one when you’ve finished the pursuit.
And now… you have an Equus, with it’s saddle! Hope this helped!

(wrote my name this time because there’s so many people copying my exact tip, if it’s for inspiration, I understand).
These things are a must have for every level!!! I know everyone says this about everything but I mean it. I cannot stress about how good they are. They are great at knock outs with their back attack and can easily knock out a carno before it can really deal damage. But you do need a lot of carrots, but it’s worth it. Keep in mind that if you tap the carrots when it isn’t hungry it will dismount you and run away and you will lose taming progress. Make sure the area is clear because it when you are mounted it doesn’t do anything if it is attacked and just dies.
I hope this helped!
Cypher's tip
Here is a useful tip.
To tame one of these creatures, you would need berries or crops. The best is just Rockarrot. Approach one with the feeding item on the last item slot. Feed it and ride it. You'll need to press the action button (E for PC players) for everytime they stopped moving or the icon on the right flashes, prompting you to use it.
To get a 100% taming efficiency on this creature, avoid spamming the buttons and carefully timing your action button. Make sure that your surroundings are clear and there are not too many threats. They often run off into random areas that tends to be near a Giga territory.
They often spawn in large open fields so that is best to look for one. Good luck and have a good one.
