It took me 14 carrots to tame a level 5 😭😭😭

early game (atlease lvl 15 to 30) sneak behind equus then mount it (even without a saddle) make sure that you have a rock carrots (atlease 40 of it) on your hot bar, every time equus try to rock you out to get off of its back feed it with rock carrot to keep it calm.

These guys are hella hard to tame, it’s taming process is constantly changing and even a lv30 for me, is hard to tame

Things to note before taming:

-they spawn by creatures that will attack them, so pick them up quickly!

-they come in variations, some black and white, others orange and brown

-you can find them alone or with a second buddy equus

Here’s how to tame:

Fly near the green obelisk to find some. Check near the swamp too. If you can’t find any, do the destroywilddinos command. Once you find one, pick it up instantly with you flyer. You won’t want to tame it here. Be careful about checking level of one and picking up other to check it’s level, because they will die quickly to terror birds and baryonyxs.

There are two ways to do this- cage or free

Cage: set it in a trap, 2 by 2, preferably stone in case a large creature is near. Make a ramp on the side. Now fly away until you can’t see the trap. Then go back. The squid has forgotten all about you. Slowly go up the ramp. When its butt is facing you, slowly jump down and feed it berries. Then hop on! Feed it whenever the game says and you shall have an equus.

Free:

Go to an open area. Simply set it down, fly away from it, sneak up behind it (not with flyer, on foot) and feed it then hop on. It will run around, so there is more of a chance that it will run to a dilo or something dangerous. Then feed when games says to and enjoy your pony!

I suggest using a cage. Make sure to kill anything dangerous around it, especially if you will tame it freely. These guys are good for taming compys. They are fast, tough mounts and nice steeds. They go well with hyenaedons too.

I would rather tame iguanodon with unlimited stamina than this horse it needs to upgrade all of its stats and iguanodon needs to upgrade only speed

This dumb thing killed me, make it to where you have a lot of health. When I tried to tame him it sucked.

So if you want to tame one of these get at least 50 rockcarrots make sure you bring a powerful tame with you to deal with all the annoying spinos and allos

The only way to be able to get on one of these dinosaurs is to get ghille armor. Don’t forget. Just remember to bring more carrots than you think. Be prepared!👍

HEAR ME OUT EVERYONE: idk if someone already said this but set any flying dino to follow you on *low* not lowest and go tame a horse. it will run in small circle because its being followed by the flying dino so they wont run in to the most dangerous place on the map how they love to do

Hai ! I’m Pumpkin! I tamed an equus named Cinnamon because of her beautiful spicy color 🌶 She now she still in my Dino pen next to the baryonix’s and a adolescent raptor named Pickle 🦖 🐟

The rates are wrong potentially. Tried to tame 2 equus. First one level 145 hit 94 percent with 12 kibble then had to restart but for some reason drained it’s taming percent and had to reset again only taming at 80% effectiveness. The second one was 135 and even with 13 kibble it only hit 95 percent. I wasted around 40 kibble just to walk away with one tame. Maybe a bug or rework?

Get 70+ carrots on 1x or 40+ on 2 times, very easy on ragnarok as both spawn in highlands. Wait for the blue letters inn bottom right of screen to pop up after you habe mounted ONLY WATCH FOR THE TEXT.not the bucking. Tame 130+ and u cam knock out about 80% of things. (I even buck kicked a quetzal stuck in a rock) and have tamed 3 150 trikes with it. HORSES OP!

You can have a tribe mate ride it while another feeds it carrots from their last slot

How to tame easy step one get the horse in a spot where it can't move step 2 get one player to ride it then get another to feed it because there is a glitch where even if someone is rideing the horse you can still feed it

Equis is not this creature…Equine are todays horses. It’s really a Allohippus…. SPREAD THE WORD

Tip: did you know the game can truly hate people, in fact I think wildcard just regrets making all mobile completely and that’s why some things are so stupid. For example, for the Equus specifically, just go tame a raptor instead. For mobile at least. Because, unless you have a ton of time and really just want an Equus, there’s no need to waste time. It’s said that equi are good beginner games because of how easy it is, that’s not the case for mobile. There are so many possible glitches that can happen that it’s just not worth it. By the time you’re actually able to properly prepare to tame an Equus, you can get better stuff. Usually, if you attempt to go time an Equus and the stars don’t aline, you’re done for, having to walk back to base. I swear, just, why must this happen. I’ve spent 3 real life days trying to tame an Equus, yet I’m still unsuccessful because so many glitches keep happening. I can’t tell you the exact amount it takes for obvious reasons. But unless you’ve got tons of soothing balm. Only go for low level equi like level 50 tops, and bring two stacks of rockcarrots. Then, make sure there are no rocks, trees, or a living creatures within a 100 m radius, and no water either, and I wouldn’t do a pen either because it could get stuck in that somehow and glitch. Then, make sure you have around 1 and a half hours of free time, and prepare for an event that will leave you starting to hate both the Equus and the game and general. Then, enjoy the Equus for a hit before it gets killed because one enemy, it could even be a compy for example shows up, then 50 other predators, or a herbivore walks into you with 50 friends nearby, and decide to make you regret ever learning dinosaurs existed. This is only partially an overdeamatization, partially. Enjoy the game while you can 🙃😐
