I’ve literally been trying to tame one for 2 hours but every single time a carno pulls up and kills it so if you wanna tame one you’ll need to clear out the area first, good luck

Do not feed mejoberrys it’s gonna take forever to tame feed rock carrots

Sneaking is key, waited by it for 20 mins to feed. Bring ghille or get out of render range.

You always want to be east to find equus. I most commonly see them in the very southeastern corner of the map [The island] up on the big cliff where there’s grassland or around the rivers— and occasionally on the beach.

Threats you may face going east:

Spinos, carnos, pulmonoscorpius, Raptors, sarcos, dilo packs

(This is just from all personal expirience I’ve had searching for Equus on my singleplayer world, but I guarantee you will find some in said areas.)

@Aubrey. No, you can’t do that. It won’t tame

You trap it in a pen and get a carrot crop. Mount it and feed it carrot. But even if you don’t need a saddle to ride it, you will still need the saddle for making lassos for capturing small creatures. Especially archaeopteryx, those are a nightmare to tame unless you immobilize it. If you don’t have carrot crop, consider gathering jungle ferns and stuff it in a fridge or preserving bin.

There is a lot if the equus on the valguero map. But there is also a lot of deions and allos there to. Be careful

When taming make sure to wear full ghillie armor and have carrots in your 0 spot on hot bar go behind it crouch and feed it a carrot which will enable you to ride it from there keep an eye on your lower right hand corner it will indicate to you when to press e to feed it

I would get about 20 or 30 rockcarrots, then sneak up on it, then hop on it and whenever it starts to buck, shove a carrot down its throat. After about 20 or 30 carrots, the horse will love you and defend you. I got an equus that looks like a zebra

Please can someone tell me what button do I press to feed them during taming ride pls on ps4? I've been trying l3 and r3 cos I thought they're the controls to feed on other mounts but I ALWAYS get bucked off cos he needs food to calm him. I want a horsey!!!

For mobile, when you taming this guy if you felt or getting knocked out by this horse. The taming effectiveness decreases for the next taming to same equus. To make it 100% or whatever to get maximum...

You need to make him unconscious with trunk than try to tame him again you see taming effectiveness is maximum now. It's helpful when you taming this guy high lvl (150+) with rockarrot no bulm. Coz I tried dumb 180 with rockarrot no bulm

If you need to find some and you’re on the Fjordur map, I found 8 or so of them in the cave at 28.8 39.8 in the fall region, it’s inside the cave. Although apparently they can spawn outside the cave, but they’ve just been inside for me.
