Building any sort of an enclosure and dropping them in with an Argent works just fine; if you want to get fancy use a quetz you spoiled rich kids XD

For Xbox players, you have to press y to feed it, press y right after It to ride it. when you are on it press another time Y to feed it another time so it doesn't kick you off, it will not make you dismount it

EASY IN THE BUTT TO TAME!!!All u have to do is pick it up with an argy,drop it INA taming pen, bola it,feed it and ride! For beginners just bola and do the rest and feed it carrots

Build a base with enough room to house them, scoop them up with an argy and bring him home to tame. they are suicidal out in the wild. I tamed one in a hallway 2 wide and maybe 10 long

How do I find the Equus

In the island

If you would like to tame this then first get a iguanodon, then with said iguanodon farm some jungle ferns until you gat a Rockarrot, un-mount the iguanodon and turn the rockarrot into a seed, plant at a medium or large crop plot until you get about 50 rockarrots and then find a Equus, mount Equus, feed the Equus until tamed. THE BEST ANIMAL IN THE GAME!!! I’ve tamed every single other Dino I have using this guy!!! Knock them out and keep them under by harvesting Marco berries right then and there. Lvl up melee to knock out a lvl 150 Rex by kicking in the face before it’s roaring animation is even finished! Lvl speed to outrun raptors, and knock out a raptor before it even pounces! Keep quick dropping torpor Dino’s like Theriz and pachyrino under with berry harvesting (scorpion and frog can’t do this) lasso and craft narcotic from the saddle! Good swimmer and amazing jumper! Not to mention the thrill of finding the unicorn variant! A must have tame early game! (Funnest passive tame as well)

Things to note before taming:

-they spawn by creatures that will attack them, so pick them up quickly!

-they come in variations, some black and white, others orange and brown

-you can find them alone or with a second buddy equus

Here’s how to tame:

Fly near the green obelisk to find some. Check near the swamp too. If you can’t find any, do the destroywilddinos command. Once you find one, pick it up instantly with you flyer. You won’t want to tame it here. Be careful about checking level of one and picking up other to check it’s level, because they will die quickly to terror birds and baryonyxs.

There are two ways to do this- cage or free

Cage: set it in a trap, 2 by 2, preferably stone in case a large creature is near. Make a ramp on the side. Now fly away until you can’t see the trap. Then go back. The squid has forgotten all about you. Slowly go up the ramp. When its butt is facing you, slowly jump down and feed it berries. Then hop on! Feed it whenever the game says and you shall have an equus.

Free:

Go to an open area. Simply set it down, fly away from it, sneak up behind it (not with flyer, on foot) and feed it then hop on. It will run around, so there is more of a chance that it will run to a dilo or something dangerous. Then feed when games says to and enjoy your pony!

I suggest using a cage. Make sure to kill anything dangerous around it, especially if you will tame it freely. These guys are good for taming compys. They are fast, tough mounts and nice steeds. They go well with hyenaedons too.

I learned that if you trap an equus in a building with 2 stories you can get it stuck in a corner. It will also tame faster if you feed it the second it starts bucking.

the tiny buttons no longer work well enough on mobile so I say just kill and revive if you have the amber

In mobile you can only lasso wild equus

Just take a dire bear or some hunky creature clear a cave and tribute the totem found within then it’ll only take 2-3carrots.

(For mobile you get a free journeysman saddle)

If you want a challenge tame a 150 with amarberries on official.

They are easy to tame at the Ragnarok highlands. As they can farm large amount of berries, can craft narcos in their inventory, can shot while riding it and have a strong topor-attack they are great taming assists. A saddled one with 2k+ hp, 2500+ sta and 500%+ dmg unskilled/born stats can easy knock out high rexes and other stuff. If the target run away you can easy follow and shot more tranqs. They have a high hp-regen and with full imprint they can get 314% speed. That is like a wyver fly and enough to run away even from alpha rex. If you cant tame a wild, maybe another player tried and failed. You need to knock it out to reset a failed taming.

Was taming a lvl 130. As soon as it finished taming, it died. Just gave up on life

I would rather tame iguanodon with unlimited stamina than this horse it needs to upgrade all of its stats and iguanodon needs to upgrade only speed

The equus is harder to rane then you think. *Oh a passive tame. That will be easy* but sadly no. They always spawn with a lot of carnivores. Raptors, terror birds, carnos, sometimes rex to. Clear out the area first. Kil of any carnivores. The equus do run around all over the place. Longer then you would expect. And in worst case a few carnivores spawn in while your riding it to tame it.
