Tips & Strategies

What are tips for equus? Tips and strategies for equus in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
Really good for early game, it's how most good players start, simply spawn on Ragnarok in the Highlands and near the lighthouse you will find a natural garden of carrots to tame the horses. They are a common spawn in the Highlands. Slightly different and more complicated to tame then normal Dino's so I would check that but one tamed they can be ridden without a saddle(you have to be LV 10 to tame one). With the saddle there inventory acts as a mortar and pestle as well as the only way in the game to craft a lasoo. Lasoos are useful for taming as if you knock out Dino like a pteradon you can lasoo it and drag to a more convenient location. They also harvest berries, thatch and wood well. They have normally around 400 weight which is good and they are fairly fast. All round good mount for early game...ffs why do I have the time to right that I'm sad lol.
Something with EQUUSES is that they tend to appear in areas by shores and in dangerous areas so when you taming them make sure you have at least 65 rockoroots because some EQUUS take longer or shorter to tame and bola it so it doesn’t jump of a cliff and it hells a lot when you have God Consle because when a dangerous animal comes you can kill it Ty for reading have a good day🥰😁
Equus are basically horses that can be found in certain places of the map, or in Redwoods. They can be tamed with any berry, but rockarrot is the main food. They also take Dilo Kibble. With any other berry besides rockarrot, it will be 0.1% or 1% every feed. With an argy, I recommend that you take the equus out of whatever place it's in, and back to your base. If not, a safe place. If you don't have a argy , make sure a creature is following you on medium or high, and on neutral in case something attacks. You should probably have 100-150 rockarrots, or 200 Taming! They can he found by the mountain on the left side of Redwoods. Hope this helps with your equus taming! One more thing , clear the area and make sure that no threats are near. Keep in mind, some new threats will spawn in shortly or long after. You should look for one during the start of the day as you are on your way to Redwoods. Nighttime is the worst time to tame the equus if not at the base. -TinaZ
I HATE PASSIVE TAMING 😡😡😠😠😠😠
These guys are good for tame trips
How to Tame effectively and with less rockcarrots and time.
1. Trap the Horse (Fence, Room, etc.)
2. Try to mount, when prompted by the game to feed it, wait for 2 secs then feed (Gives more Taming progress than stalking fashion taming)
3. IT IS IMPORTANT TO UNMOUNT EVERYTIME YOU SUCCESSFULLY FED IT.
4.wait for it to be hungry again.
And repeat step 2 to 3.
Just mount it then feed when it's hungry, then unmount after feeding, and let it roam the room or enclosure til it gets hungry.
Proven in Mobile.
Tamed a lvl 18 in no time.
P.S. you don't have to build a dino gate, just trap yourself with the horse inside. Just Destroy the walls after the process.
For early game, just find a low level (only up to 25) and if you have a high taming rate it should only tame 10 or so mejoberries
So, I found 2 ovis while looking for one of these. I don't think ark will except my dreams of horse riding. And the ovis weren't even a breeding pair.
If you back kick something, boom ko'd
I think they are all around the Map but not at swamps or somewhere there us predators ans in plains.
PRESS THE SAME BUTTON TO FEED AS YOU DO TO MOUNT, and feed him as soon as you mount! For me on Xbox, it's Y. Then press again all times he tries to buck you off. Lost a unicorn because I didn't know what button would feed him, I thought the mounting button would make me dismount.
How to tame: Equus: ARK Mobile Edition!
Prep: 2x2x2 trap (why 2 high? Just in case :)) (4 foundations, 16 doors) of any material, these don't fight back and flee instead, Rockarrots, I'd suggest bringing a WHOLE LOT (50-75) because you'll see in a minute. And you'll also need a tame that can pick up the horsey (oh and Time too, lots of Time)
Find: there's no real place from where I've found but they live by the shallow jungle and near the bases of mountains (or you can do Tame: Equus) and after you found it pick it up with argy and drop in trap
Tame: I don't remember you needing ghillie but just crouch behind and feed, normally when you start riding it will run around crazily most likely Into danger like an Allo (that's why the trap is required) or off a cliff but after a lil while I'll do a QuickTime event that needs you to feed a rockarrot before it bucks you off, rising the taming effectiveness very little (like 1-2%) so rinse and repeat until tamed
Have fun with your brand new Horsey! Just don't make it be a battle mount... trust me...
RIP: h o n s e . - level 27
Always use an Argy to drop into a 4x4 stone doorframe pen for taming. Then wear ghillie suit and crouch to passively tame without agro. Crops are best and dont forget to start with soothing balm.
Guys when you’re trying to knock out another creature with the equus kick, use your spyglass and do the alternate attack and you will be able to hit the creature multiple times in 2 seconds. It’s an incredibly useful trick and even I didn’t think it would work once I had the idea but I tested it on a parasaur and it worked! So try using this trick next time you run out of tranq arrows and have to use equus tip.
P.S. I don’t hv pc or console so plz know that it probably only works on mobile.
***TAMING*** on mobile
After taming 3 of these guys and chasing them all across the map and 2 accidentally getting eating this is what you do, tame an argy, find an equus. Once you have the equus you want hover over the horse while on your argy and swipe up on the left side and boom you’ve picked up your equus. Before hand, make sure your Argys stamina is up as well as his speed so your argy can carry the equus to your base. At your base MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A 3X3 PEN THAT IS STONE WITH WINDOWS. so you can feed the equus without getting close close. And each carrot gives the equus about 5% so do the math 50 carrots to be safe. Enjoy. Up this if this helped you.
Tame a scropion animals are not aggro on mobile toward you if you attack them or are riding by, but I would still try to steer clear of the bigger carnivores. You might as well get the lowest lev one since it doesn’t make a difference since theses things have unlimited stamina and then about 30 carrots, I tamed mine on level 1, and the quest gives you a saddle for free, so don’t get the enagram.-snail lover
