Anyone else understand why it's faster in water than it's bigger relative, the Carbenymas I mean. (yet the carbon is built for swimming while the doedic is not)?

So I knocked one of these guys out, a lvl 19, and I put berries in its inventory to start taming. I flew back home to make kibble bc I was close and I came back and when I fed it to the doedicurus it consumed it but tamed it like it was a berry. Very disappointed. Also I wasn’t able to pick it up with my argy. Come on dodoex

Use a 🪃. It normally will knock it out but not make it ball up

They love to eat Kibble from a Dilopho and Mejoberries. You have to shot 8-10 Tanquilizer Arrows in his Head and then you tame him. Tadaaaa :)

Use this for creating stone bases quickly and up grade weight and health so it can carry heaps and tank hits.

Also when it carries stone the stones weight is reduces from 100 to I think 12.5 kg

Boulder

Tow one behind an anklyosaur when you go on flint / stone runs for stimberries and gunpower. Put the stone in the doed for 75% weight reduction so you can make less return trips to the base.

If you don't want to have to go find another one of these bastards when yours dies, just get 1 of each gender. These things are ridiculously easy to breed and raise.

Look for a cream rock, that’s often a good way to find one unless it’s a blue one like mine

Doesn't harvest metal anymore either. Depleted 4 metal nodes and got only stone.

The doedicurus saddle is actually craftable at level 34 (Xbox)

I play on mobile,casual medium difficulty sp,doedic gathers obsidian only in the volcano.my max lvl doed gets around 50-60 obs & 50-70 metal on small obs rocks ;120-150 metal on big ones.every 4-5 obs rocks iget around 250 +obs and around 350 metal..only in the volcano.dont try elsewhere.it only gives stone

If you're scared of the redwoods currently trying to go north of the red obelisk on the island map (low chance to spawn and usually it's hunted by sabertooths so save it using an argy which also spawns in that area. You can shoot fast (tranq arrows deal huge startup in torpor and it slowly goes up so wait) and the final time do a full blow with a bow not crossbow (full shot by bow>crossbow but crossbow guarantees the amount). Now after that blow pummel it with a club (should have one it's best for gathering organic polymer) until it's out. Feed it berries and you have one. Now if you are unlucky and it curls up and stays up wait for it to come out and shoot it with a crossbow or charge your bow and shoot it right when it uncurls itself. The torpor slowly going up should knock it out and if not, just target the feet or underside. Hope this helped anyone wanting an easier time taming this stone gatherer!

I just shot a lvl 50 on an offical server with a ramshackle longneck with 46 darts before it shelled and it didn’t get nocked out ( no time between shots apart from reload time

These little buggers are so hard to knock out they get in their shell if their health is really low when it pulls into its. She’ll then use tranq arrows or normal arrows to hit it

Use in bee cave on Crystals Isles to harvest ridiculous amounts of organic polymer.

Quetz keep flying and the Doedic's rolling

Get some stone earliear and dont waste a lot of weigth. This dinosaur takes a lot of stone with a lower weight

These guys are your stone gatherers, to tame simply shoot it in the head with tranq arrows / darts and feed berries / crops / kibble and he is yours

Good for gathering stone for building stone structures. Good for early/midgame. Can get away pretty quick as well with the roll.
