I recommend breeding these guys for size as soon as possible. They unlock cool new abilities as they get bigger!

Size 1.55: now drops dodo feathers off its back, used for crafting items like sail plume, dodo decimater, and dodo cultivator

Size 3.00: you can now ride them without saddles, and equip dodo decimater and dodo cultivator.

How to breed for size:

Select biggest male and biggest female dodo

Build a 1x1 pen (doesn’t need roof)

Put the dodos in the pen

Enable wandering on both dodos (tap skull icon in top left corner)

Wait

Pick up fertile dodo egg

Make campfires (at least 2)

Fuel campfires (at least 20 fuel per fire)

Light campfires

Drop egg next to (not on) campfires

Wait for egg to hatch

Claim baby (skull Icon)

Feed baby (they eat a lot)

Wait for baby to grow up

The new dodo will be anywhere in between his parents sizes, most likely on the edge, with slight variation (size 1.00 and size 1.50 would have a baby of size range 0.95-1.55, most likely bigger than both parents)

Other breeding facts:

Mating bar: at 100%, a fertile egg will be laid

Maturation bar: at 100% it will progress to next stage of growth. (Baby, juvenile, adolescent, adult)

Imprinting bar: increases strength when working for you (whistling, riding)

Wants ____ in __:__ giving it what it wants increases imprinting

Fun fact: did you know, you can get twins and triplets from eggs? The chances of this happening vary by species.

Good for one thing and one thing only... Dodo basketball. Place a hatch frame in the air to act as a goal and throw the dodos in to score a point. First to 5 wins.

Is it just me or does anyone else want to get an army of max level imprinted and mutated dodos?

On mobile these can be bred to get insane sizes, like huge, bigger than an Allosaurus and they have 8 abilities unlocked at certain sizes. I only know 2 abilities, one is the dodo gains an immense amount of speed and charges towards the target. The other that I know of is that it jumps up and slams into the ground which stuns surrounding enemies. Do not underestimate the potential that these have on mobile, they can become beasts.

When holding the dodo you create a wall infront of your hit box so you can sneak up to plant turrets open it and steal the fertilizer sneaky beaky like!

I strapped c4 to them and threw them off the peaks the bloodshed was beautiful

These things seem weak. They're kind of good actually.

Farm them for their eggs, this works for free food. Just tame a few and put them in a place or somewhere. Make sure you get the girl Dodo. Boys can't lay eggs.

FOR WAR DODO BREEDING!!

Ah yes the dodo! Truly a under appreciated tame! Breed them for size! Start out with a regular set of wild tames (usually size .98 or 1.01) ((don’t level them unless you need to, it doesn’t effect the size change)) breed them, hatch em out and raise them. Only keep the ones that go up a size!! Keep doing this! Once they reach around 2.26 they start dropping dodo feathers!! Keep breeding and rotating out the smaller ones!!!once you get to the higher 2s and into the 3s you can start to ride them. Once you hit 3.5 then you can strap on a decimator bit or a cultivator bit and have some fun. ALSO ONCE YOU HIT 3.5 YOU CAN SWIPE DOWN LEFT SIDE (on mobile not sure if it works on others) AND IT WILL DO THE MOVE FROM THE DODO BOSS! THE BUTT SMASH!!

For small shoulder dodos just do the same breeding but only keep the lower numbers so far I’ve had a .06 scale that rides on my shoulder!

Level melee on them once you get the size you like! Raise a army!! Take over!

When you hatch a baby dodo it will starve quickly if you don’t give it berries! -Boycicle

I think you should be able to carry a small creature like dodo and a shoulder pet please press the up so wild card can see

So, Baby creatures cannot eat from troughs but juveniles can. Just so you know if you are going to be a great godparent for your creature

Imagine A chicken on steroids this thing will lay around 25-50 eggs every hour and that's about all it's good for. A must have for any tribes looking to take to the sky however, as their eggs make getting a Ptera much easier.

Come on now, who would ever say no to a couple hundred dodo. Yes, some "pro" ARK players will say, "UGH WHY WOULD YOU TAME THAT" but come on now, they make very good pet companions and their eggs are good food. Also, it's kinda fun to watch a pack of angry dodos chase down some poor dilo or something... SICK EM BOYS AND/OR GIRLS

On ark mobile you can breed them in different sizes you can breed them to a shoulder pet or a fierce giant mountable super dodo

If you have to pick up a dodo(a very early tame, likely your first), choose a female. Dodo eggs are able to be made into basic kibble/dodo kibble(depends on the playing platform), which can be used to tame some powerful early tames.

Here's a little details about them the males will have a bold spot with one feather on it on the top of its head female have no bold spot

If you are playing on Extiction tame a high level one of them. Mine fought against a lvl 70 Defense Unit and won because it was too small to be hit by it.
