Fun fact: Dodos went extinct around 1640-1690 and lived exclusively on the island of Mauritius, which is off the east coast of Madagascar. They had no natural predators, making them almost friendly to humans. They typically were up to 3 feet tall, and it’s believed that the males could reach up to age 21 (females, 17). They did not taste very good, and sailors said they’d rather eat parrots or pigeons. Their meat was described as being tough, and it got worse the more you cooked it. It was said that their gizzard was the most delicious part of the bird.

The Dodo bird is a large flightless pigeon that found the Island of Maritius a comfy place, as it had no predators, and endless food. And tortoises. All was well, but they became too trusting and lost their fear response, so when some Europeans came, they were killed. However, they have noted that dodo meat tastes horrible [It’s a pigeon- what do you expect??] they also brought predatory animals like dogs and cats, so they also killed a ton of dodos. They were likely also killed as emergency food for expeditions. :[
Who else thinks they should make a platform saddle for these only costing some thatch, hide, wood and fibre. it wouldn’t be mountable but it could be a walking campfire/storage box. imagine raiding a base with dodos wearing turrets.
