Use tranq darts to knock out. Arrows will probably kill it. Besides, the more damage you do to it to knock it out, the lower the taming efficiency.

A bear that's leveled up a bit can take on equal level or higher wild rexes if built for fighting.

Don't shoot the head no multiplier for head shoots

Dont use the compound bow! I tried it just so see... it died.

Build a hut 2 to3 foundation away from trap with bed as you can miss doorway ..... and dire bears aoe

When knocking out I recommend starving it down to about 300 food as it will insta tame

Get some one to hold it with a quetzul and someone else to shot it with traq darts so no one takes damage.

Easiest to K.O. If you build a small pen and trap him. Because of how easy it is to kill them, I found great success in knocking out a Dino (phiomas/parasaurs) out first, and dropping the bear next to them. Start tranqing the bear and sit behind the other knocked out Dino. When he attacks you he will kill and eat the other one restoring a good deal of Health and you don't even have to worry about killing him.

Dire Bears can be easily killed while be tranquilized, so it is best to utilize narcotic traps for easy taming. Just use dododex to see the amount of torpor the Dire Bear has. One set (2 traps) does 240 torpor so put down enough to raise its torpor so you can knock it out with one or two tranquilizer arrows. Make sure not to knock it out with the trap as you won't be able to tame it.

The direbear is good for collecting fiber and berries if you use them right

Direbears are super strong I had a argy lev 31 with. 511 health an the dire bear killed it in 4 hits R.I.P Oreo

Make sure to always bring darts and don’t use arrows it will die before you can even knock it out and find a suitable place to tame like a cliff or a rock but take note that this F——— can dominate land once it gets to a point that it will dominate Gigas and other creatures :,)

Carry with Wyvern and put it in a stone taming pen, that way it is a bit easier

To knock a bear out, I recommend darts. (Level 34 I think) and a longneck rifle. Shoot it about 5 times, that should work. Then feed it raw meat. It's encountered in the redwood forests in Island. Be careful, they do pack a punch. Make sure you get on a rock.

On primitive+ make a stone pillar trap and as much as possible narco trapwire and use Magnifying Glass during the finishing with arrows to be sure to not kill the beast, be careful because lot of chance of killing

I took my lv200 to the dead island I did have to force feed after being ambushed by 2 lv150 and a lv75 and I did encounter a lv90 alpha rapter but they have decent oxygen so I just out swam it. Other than that it was good

If you want to 5qme these I highly recommend using tranquilliser draws as arrows will kill this creature.if you want to immobilise it you can ethier run though a doorframe in a wall or you can run it into a large bear trap.

Doesn't work.i used carbon kibble I even waited to 4k hunger it only got 1 quarter of the way
