You can start a passive tame and then knock out as their food will be decreased from the passive taming process. Their taming bar will reset but effectiveness is not lost except by not using their preferred food as normal. This is for if you don't want to keep checking on it for the passive tame and intend to leave it on its own while it is unconscious.

Taming a diplodocus,

Get 30 mejo berries

Find diplodocus and stand under front legs so it can’t move

Repeat feeding it

You’ll get lv. 30+ for 30 engram points

everyone is saying the diplo should be damage oriented, that’s why you have the amargasaurus. The bronto, is also damage oriented but it also has a platform saddle. The diplo is a school bus, it’s not supposed to do damage!

My suggestion is run a cave or two go to an obilisk and tribute the artifact for a balm and find a good lvl diplo and feed it great for storing stuff and taking hits

For not getting nocked around is stand under its belly near the start of its neck and just stand there

When u are new to the game u think its a bronto. Like all noobs u approch the "bronto" and it throws u

They can be used to push buried reapers out of the ground!!!!

If you don't have time on your hands like me then make the diplo chase its tail it will reduce it's hunger quickly (first few attempt might take a while to get hungry )

Or you can make it trap you between rocks and feed it and I'd like to thank the guy who originally mentioned this tip it was a life saver.

Easiest thing,get berries (I'd say stimberry because just about everything I see wild diplos things it says feed stimberry) and stand under it until it's yohrs,tho make sure no carnies around (or anything that will attack you bc if ur u Der the diplo if it doesn't phase through the diplos gonna get hurt and possibly die)

Overhated as hell, easy prime for early tames

There not that hard to tame but one killed me by hitting me of a cliff

Use to keep titans distracted to tame them

Make sure u get all the dilos or anything that will attack away bc if it attacks the diplo it will start the process all over again. Also tip, try to get it between rocks or 2 trees that it can’t get thru and make a wall behind it so it can’t get away or run after u to make the process easier.

They kill you and, well, I tried to tame one and he started WHACKING ME!

For everyone earlygame, you can get under a diplo at the right angle where you can feed it but it doesn't hit you or reposition. That, or trap it/'get it stuck to tame it.

Don’t get turned by it’s large stature, these guys are practically harmless unless it pushes you off a cliff or near a hostile dino. Easy prime meat.

One of these things came over to my base and I thought it was a good game So I started passive taming it. But then it got stuck on the porch of my base and since it was taming I couldn’t kill it. And when I broke the railing to let it get out it wouldn’t leave and it was blocking the door of my base so I couldn’t get in. It stayed there for a week.

I just killed one with a primitive axe, just stay next to it and walk in circles when it aggros.
