Tips & Strategies
They have what I like to call “The Ovis Syndrome”, where a rare dino is made further rare by being weak and in a biome filled with predators. They are incredibly hard to find and even if found, usually they are halfway to being in the gaping maw of a Sarco.
If you want to tame one definitely bring an eagle to carry it away, even with an assault rifle (don’t use tames since they might accidentally kill the Diplo in the crossfire) it’s likely a snake or Dilo might sneak by and quickly kill your would be tame.

I save one and it is getting tamed!
Poor things always getting killed by the Kaprosuchus and the Sarcosuchus.
They are like so rare for me so I always try to save them if they are being attacked by a Sarco or Kapro. They come in cool colors too like dark BLUE!
One time while I was hunting terror birds I saw a really pretty orange female one. Sadly, it seems the terror birds were on a hunt for it. But I finished them off for their evil deeds against rare salamanders. Up is respect for the endangered lizards
Quite possibly the only completely harmless creature in the swamp.
#SaveTheDiplocauluses
You can always find them in the swamps being attacked by sarco, kapro, boa, and baro..
I happened to go prime meat shopping and scoop him up. Never seen one before. Loved it. Found a mate! Made them mate! Egg sit it in the water... baby Explode. Lmaoooooo never have I ever seen a Dino explode before. Was so piss off... I laughed...went to bed. Lol
Apparently these are rare so I tamed one ✨
These guys will never make a move to attack you, in fact, they are more likely to run away, and are rare due to being a snack for kapros and sacros. You can pick one up with a tame kapro, so you can actually save them.
It gets black pearls from trilobites Pass the word
If your struggling a to find one check the nearby sarcos, kapros and snakes in the swamp to see if they are chasing something. Chances are they’re chasing a diplocaulus. Or a phiomia. Those darn phiomias are always getting chased…
