The tale of the shadow phoenixes
Chapter nine.
Cole gulped. “Would you like to come in?” Arianna asked sweetly. Cole nervously did so. They sat down in the living room. “My parents went off to pick some seeds for our summer garden. Now what was it you wanted to ask me?” Cole took a breath to steady himself. He needed to be precise and clear in his words. He’d admit that ever since he’d met Arianna he’d felt drawn to the girl. "Um I was wondering if you would like to go to the ball with me?” Cole asked. “Sure…I don’t have anyone to go with. Some other boys asked me but I didn’t want to go with them.” Arianna said. Cole’s heart leapt. Yes! She’s said yes! Cole got up and started for the door. “Well I’ll see you later! Bye!” Cole hurried off to find James.
He found James in the treehouse that Cole’s father had built for the Cole, Tom, James, and sometimes Peter. James was lounging in a hammock in the tree house reading a book called “the arks over heaven”. “Hi James. Find anyone interested in going with you?” Cole asked his friend. James pulled a book mark out and slid it into place in the book. “Okay I just finished chapter twenty two and can’t wait to read twenty three. (Hint, hint Ben)” he looked up at Cole and shook his head. “Nah, nobody really wanted to go with me except Toe crusher Tabitha.” James said. Cole raised an eyebrow. “Who’s she?” James grinned. “They call her Toe crusher Tabitha because when she dances with you she stepped on your toes. CONSTANTLY. There was one boy, poor guy, she broke all his toes and all his fingers. Nobody really knows how he broke his fingers though. Rumor is that he tripped and she accidentally stepped on his fingers.” Cole grimaced. “Anyways….did you find anybody of interest?” James asked, wiggling his eyebrows. Cole punched James playfully in the shoulder. “Aw come on man! Tell me! Please…” James begged mischievously. Cole sighed. He found it hard to resist his friend. “Fine. I asked Arianna.” Cole admitted. James leapt up out of the hammock. “I knew it!” Cole couldn’t help but smile at his friend. At least James wasn’t fighting with Cole to try to win Arianna. Or was he…

Live Or Die
Chapter 1: All Battles Leave Scars
When I opened my eyes, I was covered in sand. I got up and looked around. I was on a beach, and past all the sand a dense layer of foliage obscured my view of the land in which I found myself. As I got up I noticed a kite-shaped hole in my wrist. I looked at it and saw a metal object implanted in my arm. I scratched and tore at it but it was firmly lodged in my wrist. That was a problem for another time. I took a look around again and I saw a berry bush. I went over and took a few that looked safe to eat and put them in my mouth. Probably a bad idea, but I didn’t die immediately and assumed they were edible. I took some with me and that’s when I realised that there was a plump little bird following me. It was eyeing up the berries in my hand, but I wasn’t the sharing type. All throughout the day and night it followed me around driving me crazy until I finally buckled and landed several punches into it, where it fell unconscious and I snapped out of my rage. I felt guilty, so I gathered more berries and put it beside it for when it woke. I then put a wall of rocks and pebbles to shield it. When dawn broke, it was outside the little hole in the rocks where I had decided to sleep. It then brought me berries- I took them and it followed me by my side. A few hours later we encountered a frilled bipedal lizard that came charging through the bushes towards us. There was a stick beside my feet and I got an idea.
I grabbed the branch that lay at my feet, and swung it menacingly around myself. The bird that was following me squawked and charged the lizard. It spat venom that blinded the bird, and I rushed in. I delivered several blows to the head, and I broke the stick over its head and grabbed its legs, where whilst it was disorientated I threw it into a nearby boulder, although it left an injury on my neck. A small scar would be formed there, but that wasn’t my concern. The beast recovered but was still in confusion, and I took the opportunity to smash another branch over its head, where it fell unconscious like the dodo. Now, before I had spotted a rotting corpse along the beach, and since the dodo was my friend after I fed it… I rushed back and took some meat from the corpse, and although it was rotting and disgusting it brought me another friend- the dinosaur. Now, I had a nerdy friend before all this who was obsessed with dinosaurs, and he said there was one like this called a… a dilof… a dilofo… nevermind. We trekked across the beach and I decided to string together some clothes from fibres. That’s when I found the tracks… human tracks.

The Obelisk
-Chapter 32-
An Obelisk.
Obelisk, Forest thought, testing out the word. Obelisk. He’d heard that before.
Maybe while his parents talked in the other room as he ran by, chasing his sisters? As he read Ri’s journal when she thought he was asleep? Overhearing his sisters secret conversations?
He wasn’t sure.
“I’ve seen that before,” Spark exclaimed. “We called them Sky Rocks.”
“There is no way,” Crimson said, “that that Little Rock came from THAT.”
“It’s possible that a meteorite hit the Obelisk and broke off a piece,” Needles explained.
“Hmmm,” Crimson mused.
Rust stared up at the floating object, then looked down at the rune in his talons. “Is it dangerous?”
Forest thought about that as Needles said: “I don’t think so.”
What if it is? Forest wondered. That Obelisk—it f l o a t s. How could that be possible?
“Do you know why it’s just floating up there?” He decided to ask Needles.
“Well…” Needles scratched his head with a pensive expression. “It’s very possible that the atmosphere fades closer to space up there—it is pretty high up.”
“Ah,” Spark said, nodding.
“We should get going,” Needles said. “We can take the rune with us, if you want.”
“I don’t want to,” Rust said ruefully.
“I do,” Forest said. “It’s seems interesting. Rust, if you don’t wanna hold onto it—I can hang on to it for now.”
“Oh—sure,” Rust stepped forward, and set the rune carefully in Forests palm. “There you go.”
“Thanks,” Forest said, holding the rock at eye level to study. It felt cold in his talons, smooth and a bit heavy.
“You can carry it in here,” Needles said, pulling down his sack.
Forest accepted the bag and gently set the rune inside, maneuvering it carefully around the three scrolls inside. The sack was blue and green dyed wool, carefully twined together and woven to create the soft shape. He wondered who made it.
He slung it over his shoulder. “Thankyou.”
“OK! OK let’s GOOOOO,” Crimson said. “Looking at that Obelisk is giving me a headache.”
Really? Forest had wondered why his head began to throb a tiny bit at the back of his brain, but he hadn’t exactly noticed till now. He thought he was just tired. Crimson has a headache… she’s being sarcastic about the Obelisk… but what if that’s actually it?
If the Obelisk was giving Crimson, and Forest the same affects… were the others feeling the same?
And was it the Obelisk causing it?
Protectors of Pandora
Chapter 12 ~the terror of the ice queen~
“So what was that about.” Ron asked. Sir Charles looked at him, hatred evident in his eyes, “they work for the queen.” He said. “The queen? Who’s dat?” Ping asked. “She’s a ruthless dictator that rules this ark with an iron claw.” Sir Charles said. “Ya she’s a great big wyvern.” George said. “She’s got breath that can freeze you to the bone she does.” Evelyn said. “Meh we helped kill a dragon, how tough can a wyvern be.” Ron said. “Wait, You did what?..” Richard said. “You don’t understand, she’s got an entire army of kights what can we do against that?” Sir Richard said. “You guys aren’t the only ones who hate the queen I’m guessing?” Ron asked. “Of course not, everyone hates her, but they fear her, it’ll take a lot to get them to rise up against her.” Richard said. “Eh we’ll cross that stream when we get to it, I do have one question, they said you were a knight but now your not?” Ron said. “I was a knight when the yeti queen ruled, but the ice queen stole the throne, got rid of the loyal knights, and knighted those pigs!” Sir Charles said. “And now we gotta pay t a x e s…. And those new knights always take extra..” George said. “What did the ice queen do with the yeti queen?” Ron said. “Nobody knows, either killed her.. or locked her up In the dungeon.” Sir Charles said. “I have a plan.” Ron said.
“What is it..” Ping said. “Wait what? Oh I thought the chapter was over…” Ron said. “Huh?” George said. “Never mind.. anyway the plan is; First, we get a team together and free the yeti queen and the other prisoners, then the queen can rally the people and we can take on the ice queen.” Ron said. “Easier said than done, direwolves aren’t known for being sneaky.” Charles said. “And we don’t even know if the queen is alive.” Richard said. “How are we gonna find out if we don’t try?” Ron said. “Guess that’s right, but how are we gonna get in?” Richard said. Ron looked around the room, a plan forming in his mind. “We’re gonna need to get a team together.”
“It’s over now right?”
“Ok good.”
“I’m still here.” Ping said.
“How?!” Ron said
