So, desmodus is the genre of the vampire bat, but since this is ark, and there’s already a “small” bat. You can pretty much guarantee that it will not be as little or cute as the cover page.

To raise baby put blood and meat in maewing then it wil eat Every 7 minutes with out blood in maewing it eat evry 30 sec

It can life steal and do night vishen and go invisible and has a screech that can find animals

These Oversized Onycs are extremely easy to tame for such a versatile and powerful mount, if you have enough bloodpacks they’re literally a guaranteed tame, as when they pick you up they don’t damage you, and if there’s other bats they can’t damage you either if another bat has already picked you up.

I was shocked to say the least when I tamed a low level to farm blood packs for higher level Desmodus ,

shocked at how powerful it was even at such a low level, 25 when i tamed it, I was able to take down 2 high level Stegos, 145 I believe and the other tek and 95 speaking of level 95s, I also destroyed a level 95 Carno as well as a level 145 trike that couldn’t reach me but I could reach it ,

Now that I’ve got some high levels, just now tamed a female level 145 now level 186 after taming ,with really nice Easter colours too , and a male that’s a good level, 122 after taming from not sure what level since that one came out of nowhere, lol.

I’m back at base with them both as typing this and just might breed them, the fact they can breed is also crazy considering they 1.Are capable of Harvesting an infinite supply of blood packs.

3. can go invisible at night or while latching, ( if you play pvp this could be real useful)

4. Able to shoot off of them while riding including when they’re latched,

5. Did I mention when latched they don’t even drain stamina?

6.Did I mention they’re overpowered ????

7. Can pick up players and some creatures , combine that if you play pvp and it’s night you can ambush someone off their Giga or something and kill them easy,( not sure if Desmodus can be detected with parasails if they would have a parasail with them or something)

It can only go invisible when latching onto a wall or roof, or from 9:00 PM to 5:15 AM

One of the greatest secret abilities of the desmodus is its ability to fly in caves. Unlike many flyers, the desmodus is actually able to fly without any setting changes required.

This is one of the best tames you can get, dont lose it!!!

Pros:

- good stats hp/damage/weight/stamina

- good fly speed

- can get invisible in the night

- screech

- can latch on any place even trees (careful, the stamina recover is slow when it is latching and if got attacked they loose the wall)

- collect a lot of blood, meat and spoiled meat

- you can use the blood to make elixirs that increase the taming efficiency in 30%( just 1 elixir per tame)

- can shoot while flying

- fast landing

- fast hp recovery

Cons:

- collect too much spoiled meat

- they gathering is limited ( dont get hide, prime and other things)

I dont have any real bad thing to say about desmodus, they have a lot of pros (some I dont listed) and even the cons are not bad, are useful and balanced. Desmodus eat meat, but prefer blood and it recover their hp with this. Now I cant live in ark without one!!

On lost colony get blood packs from deinotherium i got like 40 blood packs from one

It can turn invisible at night and while it is latched upside down during both night and day. Every time it bites a creature, it adds blood packs to it's inventory, making it good to use to tame bloodstalkers. It collects tons of spoiled meat when it eats corpses making it also good for narcotic farming. It has echolocation which allows it to ping all nearby creatures, and finally it has the ability to dive similar to the griffin and snow owl. It's tamed passively by putting blood packs in the last slot of your hotbar and letting it pick you up.

Put lots raw meat in maewing when raising babies. Do not use blood packs or cooked meat. It will starve due to the cool down timer on blood packs.

A 150 is about 170 blood packs on 1x offical

To Tame it you mite need blood packets

Fun fact: if you feed the elixir to a baby, juvenile or adolescent Dino even if it’s not ready for it next imprint go into the baby’s inventory and eat the elixir in your inventory and it will give the Dino a 30+ imprint bonus.

If your trying to find a decent cave=

On fjordior there is a swamp island there on the swamp island there are two caves the big one just has bugs in it the smaller tunnel one has a few onycs and like 2-3 desmodus in it but the cave is kinda hard to find the cave is pointing to the autumn section of the other island

Use a daedon on passive to increase taming effectiveness. Has much higher health, heal rate and a saddle which allows it to easily tank lvl150 bats

With the medical stand you can farm blood packs to tame it with simply attach it to a high health creature and make sure to remove before it dies this way you can start with a high level even if effectiveness is still challenging

To farm blood packs insanely fast find a high level doedicrus and attack with desmodus so easy...

Theese things are busted, a good imprinted Desmy will drain stamina so slow you barely have to worry about it, natural nightvision, can fly in caves (and on aberration if you spawn one in ((fliers usually don't let you even hop on on AB), can turn invisible and latch to walls and ceilings you can use the echolocation to detect any enemies you can't see. They naturally regen health a little when attacking (you don't have to use the lifesteal just regular attacks regen health), they collect insane amounts of bloodpacks and from what I've observed as long as they have bloodpacks in their inventory they can consume them on a 30sec cooldown to heal 2000 health. They deal decent damage and are insanely maneuverable so they can take on absolutely any threat too. You can use weapons on the backs of them. They fly fast and can pick things up (from my observation their carry ability is in-between an argy and a griffin) also I can pick up a deinonychus WITH THE RIDER STILL ON IT with one (Saved my friend and his Deinon from lava once) and that's all the not that well documented stuff on this. This thing is insane.
