Kill all Desmodus besides the one you want to tame.

Get the attention, and net it.

Use 4 Dinogates to trap it, like standard argi trap.

Throw a Daedon in the trap, cryopod or walk it in.

The Desmodus will lift the Daedon and affectiveness will rise to 100%. Once 100% is reached you can open the gates and start the taming. Don't forget the bloodpacks in your inventory and glidesuite or parachutes are recommended 😉

These can be a early game tame, just get lvl 74 to get the saddle by how ever you want, then tame a pt and get blood bags as you do it, also make the saddle while you are there. Then fly to the area where they spawn( about 90 lat, 70 lon) , enter the cave and tame a high lvl or low lvl, depending on how many blood bags you have.

Plan on dying, prepare for the worst. Make sure you have a ton of sleeping bags placed nearby, also bring parachutes to reduce the chance of death. Good luck!

Bring grappling hooks or parachutes

Has invisibility in any form at night or anytime when latched. Night vision is accessible through the wheel. Hold bite to build scream and hold grapple to build invisibility.

Get some bloodpacks, find a low level, tame it, use it for lots of blood packs then tame a high level, watch out for fall damage so bring parachutes

If you're using forcetame, don't let it grab you first as it drops the taming efficacy immediately and so you'll only get 192's instead of 225's assuming standard max difficulty settings.

They can hang onto a cliff or tree and you can shoot off them!! So helpful for taming!

You can easily navigate most of the caves on The Island with a Desmodus. Beware of Purlovia in the Snow cave as there are sections where you have to fly low and the Purlovia can stun and dismount you. Go at night and use the invisibility buff. There is no other way that I will do the Lava Cave than on one of these. They absolutely shred Onycs, just fly backwards biting and watch the flying rats melt.

Can’t wait to tame this, probably will need blood packs considering it is probably something like a vampire bat. So that being said make sure you have lots of tribe mates with high health ;)

Just found out the hard way. You don't need blood packs in your inventory to tame. I was ambushed by a desmodus and it's taming meter was still going up just from draining my characters health.

Best way tame a low level get a lot of blood packs get a high level they upgrade easy just use the red things there’s like 200 of them but they have night vision and invisibly one of the best tames ever, they are the best for stealing wyven eggs just go invisible and activate night vision grab a egg fly up then dive and turn invisible again because the wyvens will shoot fire and stuff and when you get hit your invisibility will go away hence why you have to fly up then dive

If you pick a creature up you can turn it invisible during night time

Tame a low lvl desmodus before you find a high level farm up minimally 40 bloodpacks and then farm more after the low lvl tame to get a high level and let it suck blood from tamed dinos i prefer dire wolfs or daedons so the taming effectiveness goes up and you dont lose a lot of lvls

If u turn off the harvesting settings this thing will only collect blood packs so its imv eont fill up with meat and u can focus on making the potion things that i can craft on it

If you hang the fenales upside down when pregnant the baby will pop out and drop to the floor for easy breeding
