A Megatherium with its insect-killing buff is one of the safest and most effective choices, while a well-prepared Rex, Thylacoleo, or Wyvern can also defeat a Deathworm. Watch for disturbed sand, keep pressure on it when it surfaces, or use a shield and melee weapon defensively; oil jars with flame arrows provide a safer ranged option.
