I came within render of one on scorched and the dune it was in clipped invisible real quick showing the worm inside. First of all, it was huge and looked like a grub, second, I turned around on my moth and got the heck out of there.

Just get a thyla with a crap ton of hp. They deal percentage damage bleed.

Easiest way to find, find the main cave exit to under the ragnorak castle, go down as deep as the massive cave goes. Add generators and lights down there took me about 3 hours to do. But they're down there for sure. Glow sticks tend to work somtimes for drawing them out

If you wana kill this thing i recommend using lighting wywerns bc of high dps and health.

If you want to find it, go near where you know they spawn, go into orbit ca meta, and bring your camera underground. When you see something that looks like a big, long worm in the ground, move towards it. It should pop out. Use something like a dragon or maybe even a pack of wolves to kill. If tackling this monster with no games, bring a decent shotgun or assault riffle.

Please be careful around them I don't want you to get REALLY angry at them for killing you and your dinos.

To kill one of these I’d say use a gun of some sort and some fast land mount. Have no guns? Use a shield and sword, this method doesn’t require a mount.

Despite its name and size, the Deathworm is actually incredibly pathetic and aside from taking a while to kill, is really easy to beat, even a decently HP and Melee invested Raptor can kill one with minimal health loss.

While boasting a terrifying HP pool and impressive damage per hit, the Deathworm is plagued by a slow attack rate (thus low DPS), massive hitbox and will always spawn at lvl 1, making Deathworms especially weak on max difficulty servers where you can tame lvl 150 dinos (over lvl 200 with 100% efficiency) and beat the absolute crap out of the poor sand noodle.

The real challenge is actually finding one because they are incredibly scarce in the dunes, even worse if they aren’t able to locate a player or even so much as lose track of a player, they will despawn thus meaning you have to go and search for another Deathworm to hunt.

I would suggest useing fire arrows...I was on creative though.
