Ultimus Chapter Twenty-Seven: The Beginnings of an Unexpected Journey
Sylas rode on Tuba into the camp. He had the wagon taken off at the entrance of their camp. As he approached the main part of the camp, he noticed it was quieter than it normally was. Usually, Freya would be doing something outside, either tending to one of the animals on the outskirts of the camp or setting up a new practice target near her tent to use the various weapons she has and makes. But no one was out and about, it wasn’t late was it? He didn’t honk so, then again the sun never left its spot in the sky, and he was a night owl so it could’ve been! He left Tuba in the center of the camp and started walking around the camp’s tents. All of the lamps were on so he didn’t think anyone was asleep. He decided to go into Paul’s tent and see if he was up, if he was, he was going to ask what was going on. He wondered what Andrew was doing too, it seemed weird that he wasn’t around either. He got to Paul’s flap, and he opened it up.
“So you finally made it back. It’s about time.” A voice said from behind him. Sylas closed his eyes and sighed.
“Yeah, I was doing stuff for the tribe, unlike you, you self-centered jiblet.” he said with a gag in his throat. He hated his generation and the previous generation’s lingo, which is why he rejected it when he was young. And he only used it in the worst way possible. Jonathan looked at him confused. Looks like the future forgot their slang. Good riddance. He went on though.
“You mean trying to make up for not doing it earlier. Everyone knows you forgot.”
“Well, at least I tried to mend my mistakes.” Sylas said
“Yeah, but at what cost? You know what happened to Andrew right?” Jonathan remarked, Sylas looked at him confused.
“What happened to Andrew? Is he ok?”
“He is, no thanks to you. He had a seizure and is not conscious right now. But it happened right as he got into camp. Probably came back from helping you, right?” Jonathan said, Sylas stood there in solemn silence.
“That’s what I thought, probably should’ve done it before when you were supposed to.” Jonathan said, Sylas did nothing. He felt more and more like a screwup as Jonathan spoke. Jonathan left, leaving because he couldn’t get any sort of argument out of him probably.
Sylas walked into Paul’s tent to see a frustrated Paul packing his bags. He was muttering to himself as he packed clothes and provisions in one bag and went around his tent gathering medical equipment for the other bag. Both bags looked like saddlebags rather than normal ones. It seemed odd, Sylas even saw Paul grab his revolver and holster and strap it onto his hip. What was going on?
Paul looked towards Sylas’ way and noticed him.
“Sylas, ya made it back. Good ta see ya boyo!! How was yer mission? Did ya get the robots to where ya needed them to go?” He asked, Sylas nodded.
“Uh, yeah. Yeah, I got them around the entire city. In peaceful parts of the city.” Sylas said, “Jonathan told me what happened to Andrew. Is he, okay?” Paul stopped and looked back at him.
“He’s fine, he had a concussion. He’s healing now.”
“Is he unconscious?” Sylas asked,
“Aye, he is, but it was an induced sleep just to let him heal without causing more injuries. Why? Did ya hear otherwise?” Paul asked, but Sylas didn’t say anything.
“Sylas, what did Jonathan tell ya?” Paul persisted,
“He said nothing to my face, but he made it sound like it was my fault for asking Andrew for help.” Sylas said, his voice cracking, and looked back at Paul. Paul looked at him with a face turning redder by the second.
“Jonathan’s great at putting the blame where it doesn’t belong.” He walked over and put his hand on Sylas’s shoulder. “Sylas, ya had nothing to do with Andrew’s condition. If it wasn’t helping ya with the robots, it’ve been something else. And Jonathan had the guts ta say that ta ya after what he’s goin’ ta make me do. I oughta batter his napper. Especially with his last stunt. He’s got me so-” “Wait what did he do?” Sylas asked, Paul took a deep breath as he sat down at his desk. He was really upset with whatever was going on.
“Andrew told me he had Element in chit chat before I dosed him, after a little while later I helped Erica, Freya, and Jonathan plan out our next steps in bringing down the arks.” “But once Jonathan ha-” “Hold on, you planned on what we were doing next without me?” Sylas interjected.
“They started without me too, now focus though.” Paul answered. “As I was saying, Jonathan though took control of the plans and said her plan was nearly impossible in our state and that we should build up a creature army. Something that would delay us weeks or months from our plans, especially without Element. Erica was nearly ready ta batter him for suggesting it, but he was right. I stopped her and had to talk her into it. Then I made the flawed decision ta suggest we ask for Andrew’s Element just ta satisfy her desire for a speedy return to the mission. My idea was to trade him for the resource, but Jonathan and Erica want to just use him and force him into saying yes. And it has me frustrated with them because they treat him like a tool rather than a human being!” Paul said, Sylas stood there for a moment, he understood why Paul was upset. He would be too, and he was. No one should be mistreated in the camp they are at. But at the same time.
“Why do we even need to ask?” Sylas said aloud to his own thought. Paul looked over at him.
“What?! Because it’s using him?” Paul answered.
“I mean yeah, it is. But at the same time, we really are in a desperate time right now. Wouldn’t it just be easier to say to him ‘Hey, we need your Element to save the world and bring down people to help save it. We’ll pay you back or return as much as we use once the droids find some Element. But right now, we desperately need it so we can help save the world from this glorified zombie apocalypse.’?” Sylas said, Paul shook his head.
“But that’s still dishonest, and still usin’ him. I don’t feel good about that Sylas.” Paul
“I get it Paul, and I don’t feel much better either. I would like to be polite too, I would be the type of guy to ask for a cup of sugar from my neighbor and repay them later that day. But we are at the end of the world now and Andrew is the last human on this planet besides us surrounded by zombies. We need to pull all of our stuff together and use it for whatever we need to survive and finish this plan of Erica’s plan. And if Andrew has fuel for the Tek, we gotta take advantage of that, to survive.” Sylas said, Paul sighed and rested his elbows on his desk, and put his head in the palm of his hands.
“I still feel it’s wrong… but I know also that yer right. We do need every advantage we can get. It still doesn’t mean I am not repaying for the Element in both Element when we get more to share with him and ammunition that he needs now.” Paul said, Sylas smiled.
“That’s a perfect trade for him since we sprung it on him so fast. Now I’m gonna go pack, do you think Andrew would mind if I bring my axe and helmet?” Sylas asked, Paul chuckled with a smile.
“You know that helmet doesn’t fit you, let alone anyone normal in the human race. Let alone that Freya is the only one who can effectively use that 50-pound axe you got there.” He said chuckling.
“I know, but it’s a status thing it's the only thing I ever “killed”.” Sylas said, doing air quotes as he did. Paul laughed.
“I know, but no one’s gonna take them either. They’re’s only five others besides you.” Paul said. Sylas shrugged.
“I know that too, I just wanna bring it along.” Sylas said, Paul continued to laugh.
“Go on then lad, I’m pretty sure that Andrew would be fine with whateva ya pack. But if ya want ta wait ta pack him ta wake up.” Paul said, Sylas nodded.
“That’s what I’ll do.” He started walking before stopping.
“Do you know when he’s gonna wake up?” Sylas said, Paul shook his head.
“I don’t lad, but I expect that he’d wake up in the next few hours. I could give him a stimulant ta wake him sooner, but I fear that’d be more harmful ta him than aiding. I’d rather-” “Oh no, I didn’t mean you needed to. I just needed to know how long do think we have to pack before we know his say.” Sylas interjected,
“I know what ya meant, I’m just tellin’ ya what I’m thinkin’.” Paul sighed. Sylas nodded. He understood how Paul was feeling, and was guilty about it just as much as he was. He hated it. But they needed to do this if they were to bring down that ark and hopefully save Earth.
~
Andrew lay on the bed once again, he was feeling better but still had some throbbing in his head. His mind wasn’t all there either, he couldn’t remember what had happened after eating the green paste. But he assumed he slept through most of it since he was asleep. He tried opening his eyes as he got up only to start seeing three of everything. He closed his eyes and started rubbing them. He stepped up and yelled as he immediately fell on his face to the ground. He realized that his legs weren’t functioning yet. They felt they were still very much asleep. He looked at his six legs and raised his hand in the air, hoping to smack it hard enough to wake them up. He reared back as much as possible and then he swung hitting the ground with a powerful strike. Hurting his hand enough for him to yell again.
“Andrew!! Ya alright? I heard ya yell in here?” Paul shouted, Andrew looked in the direction of the voice and saw three Pauls standing in three entrances to the room he was in.
“Ah good, can one of you three help me get up? I seems to have no functions in mes legs.” He said back to the Pauls in a very soft tone. The Pauls gave a concerned look before agreeing to, they came over and three helped him back up to the bed.
“Ya feelin’ alright Andrew? Ya kinda acting a wee bit strange?” the Pauls asked as they began to examine him.
“A little bit of throbbing, my legs are asleep. But other than that, I’m fine, in fact the room seems to have gotten bigger, isn’t that right Niagna?” Andrew said facing a giant hairy beast in the other corner of the room. The Pauls looked at him and Niagna with more concern.
“Right then, I’mma get some water for ya.” The Pauls said, Andrew nodded smiling.
“Oh oh!! Get some water for Niagna!!” Andrew asked excitedly. The Pauls looked back and nodded in a concerned way. Andrew wasn’t sure why though.
The Pauls came back with some water and a strange brown paste on a crude spoon before leaving him to drink and eat the paste. Andrew thanked him before he left, and under the influence, gleefully ate the paste and drank the water, and after a little while Andrew’s loopy nature and triple vision left pretty quickly. A little while later Paul came in.
“Ya feelin’ any better?” Paul asked, Andrew nodded.
“Much, everything seems to be normal, except for the headache lingering.”
“That’s normal, it’ll probably be a few more hours before that.” Paul said, Andrew nodded. The two sat there in silence for what felt like five minutes.
“Andrew, I need ta say, or rather ask ya somthin’”
“I don’t know what Niagna was, I think it was just a fictional creature I made up in my hallucination.”
“It’s not bout that lad… look, our group argued after ya went unda. Our timeline on our plan had to be delayed and Erica had a right fit. And I… I told the others that ya had Element and made the suggestion to use your Element and immediately the others agreed.” Paul said, Andrew sat there for a moment, he wasn’t sure what to think. “I’m really sorry lad, I wasn’t thinkin’ straight with the otha’s fightin’ and I needed to end it so I blabbed. I’m gonna pay ya back in munition rounds for a start and once we get our Element in. We’ll make sure ya get double the amount ya originally had. And if ya aren’t comfortable or are downright upset by this. I can tell the crew we ain’t goin’ through it.” Paul continued, and he really seemed genuine about his mistake. And it didn’t seem like he meant to do what he did. Andrew thought for a moment on this offer in silence. It was honestly a good deal, if he was staying with these guys for the time being, he wouldn’t be using anything at his home. That would leave his Tek armor which was refilled earlier this month and would last a couple of weeks more so he wouldn’t need it.
“It’s alright, you guys can have it, and you don’t have to give twice the amount of Element. Just the Element I give you and-” he paused for a moment. If they had Tek or knew how to build some, maybe he could get something really worthwhile out of it.
“You guys know how to make Tek suits, right?”
“Aye, why? Does yours not work or somethin’?”
“It doesn’t, not correctly anyway. Could you guys make me some out of that other half you were going to give me? That would be so much more helpful now than twice the amount I have.” Andrew said, Paul sat there for a second and nodded.
“I think that be doable, and fair for ya too. Is that what’d ya wish for instead?” Paul asked, Andrew nodded.
“I would. Please and thank you.”
“Then it’s settled. We’ll make you a new suit and give ya the same amount of Element we take, and give ya a pile of bullets for ya troubles.” Paul said, he reached his hand out towards Andrew, wanting to shake his hand in agreement. Andrew smiled, he stood up and shook his hand to finalize the deal.
“Right then, let’s get ya packed for the trip. I’mma tell the others ta bring their faster tames. So ya gonna have ta yer horse rather than riding with one of us.” Paul said, gesturing for them to get moving. Andrew nodded
“That’s fine.” And they walked, he was still a bit wobbly but was able to manage it on his own. He looked behind to see Paul grabbing a couple of bags he had packed. They got outside to see some of the creatures around the camp. Jonathan had his horse, but Jonathan wasn’t anywhere in sight though. Sylas had both a horse, and Phil who was helping him pack, Sylas was packing something into his horse’s bag before trotting back into his tent. Erica had a large bobbed tail tiger or lion with large saddle bags. She seemed to be finished packing and she had made some food. She was eating on the ground by her new cat watching both of them leave the tent.
“Hvordan har han det?” Freya said, spooking Andrew and startling Paul that he dropped his bags.
“Freya, ya bloody scared me!!” He said in a lighter tone.
“Beklager, men hvordan har han det?” She said back, Andrew couldn’t understand but from how she and Paul were expressing themselves. It was something about him in a caring manner. Paul turned to him.
“She’s wondering how yer doing?” Paul told Andrew, Andrew smiled.
“Thank you, Freya. I’m doing better, still I have a headache but I’m doing better.” He said, Freya smiled back and nodded.
“Det er bra! Jeg er glad du har det bedre.” Freya said,
“Ya ready to leave Freya? I don’t see yer mount and saddle bags like the others have?” Paul asked, Freya rotated showing a bag on her back with a bow and sword among the items.
“Jeg er klar, jeg har alt jeg trenger. Angrboda blir mitt hestedyr på vei til bestemmelsesstedet vårt.” Freya responded. Andrew picked up on a name he had heard before.
“Yer bringing Angrboda? Will she keep up with the other mounts?” Paul asked,
“Angrboda? You mean her Tyrannosaurus? And you're bringing your mounts?” Andrew interrupted.
“Aye, but I’m worried her mount won’t keep up with the other mounts to yer home.”
“I don’t think any of them will get there period, the rideables have to stay.”
“Wait why?” Paul asked concerningly.
“Because the road to my place is narrow and we have to trek through a narrow cave to a caved-in subway station.—” Andrew said, Paul sighed while Freya looked confused at what he said. He looked at all of the other animals in the group. Most would be able to walk the road, but none would fit through the tight crevice of a cave entrance. “—Most of the tames might be able to make it to the cave, but not the Rex. The walk to the cave is too narrow.”
“Det er greit, hun kan gå på jakt til jeg kommer tilbake. Hun kan vokte stien frem til da.” Freya said, Andrew didn’t understand what she said, so he waited for Paul to translate. He stood there for a moment nodding to what she said not realizing Andrew was waiting for a translation. Paul looked at him and was shocked to see Andrew staring so attentively.
“Oh, sorry lad, she said she would have Angrboda stay at the base of the path to protect the path back down until we return.” Paul said, Andrew was kinda weirded out, shrugged, and gave a thumbs up.
“Uh, ok.”
“ANDREW!!!” Sylas shouted in excitement, he ran towards the three of them with arms stretched out before stopping.
“Are you a hugger?”
“Uh… no.” Andrew said, Sylas raised his hands like he was being held up before stretching his head awkwardly. He went back to being excited soon after though.
“How are you doing? Are you okay?” He asked, Andrew chuckled.
“I’m fine, just a headache. When did you get a horse?”
“What, oh right, you were out. I didn’t technically. Jonathan thought I got knocked out by my horse too and decided to finish taming my horse while I tamed up Tuba. —” Sylas answered. “—Are you ready for this journey back to your home? I’m excited to see this place! I got Seabiscuit and Phil ready for this awesome adventure!!” Sylas continued, Andrew processed everything he said, before answering what he asked.
“Yeah, but we can’t take them to my home. The cave entrance is too small to fit any of them in the tames here.”
“Oh, that’s fine. But we can still go see this place right?” Sylas asked in a somewhat confused tone.
“…yeah, why would you think otherwise?” Andrew asked, Sylas though seemed to completely ignore his statement and got really excited.
“Then let’s get moving!! I want to see this place, and I got the perfect song for this trek from Fellowship of the Rings!!” Sylas said, Paul seemed to get some sort of recognition from the name.
“Wait, there’s music that comes with that book—I’m losing track, Sylas, slow down. We need ta make sure the others are ready ta go.” Paul said, Sylas pointed to his stuff.
“I just finished packing!! And the others have been done packing for the past hour. I think we’re all ready Paul.” Sylas answered.
“I think he’s right Paul.” Andrew agreed. It seemed like everyone was done packing except for Andrew, and he only had two things to grab. Paul looked around to see that it did indeed seem that everyone was ready to go. He looked over at Andrew with a small smile.
“Well then it’s up ta Andrew ta decide if he’s ready ta take us there.” Paul said, Andrew shrugged.
“Tell everyone we leave in five minutes.” He said, Sylas slapped his hands together excitedly before running off to tell the others. Paul nodded to Andrew and grabbed his bags and started walking towards where the other animals were kept outside. With Freya following behind. Andrew quickly ran into his tent to grab his bow and knife before he ran after the other two.
He made to see Paul mounting his carnivorous dinosaur while Freya mounted Angrboda. Andrew saw his horse Knight Sky grazing on the grass around him, Andrew immediately walked over and greeted him. Stroking him on the head and back before mounting him. As he adjusted himself properly on his horse. Paul came over riding on his larger carnivore.
“I see ya gettin’ used to ridin’ the animals?” Paul asked,
“Yeah, it seems easy enough.”
“What’d ya name it?”
“Knight Sky.” Andrew answered, Paul nodded.
“Nice name.” He said with a smile. Andrew looked at Paul’s mount for a moment before looking back at Paul.
“What’s its name?” Andrew asked with a childlike tone in his voice.
“Her name is Grace, she’s young and still needing some training, but she is a very good mount.” Paul said,
“Cool!!”
“Now are you two done talking about the mounts and ready to get this show on the road?” Jonathan’s voice said, Andrew looked over to where he heard the voice to see Jonathan and others arriving riding their mounts. He also heard music playing from the horse Sylas had, as they walked up he could see he got the stereo onto his horse’s back.
“Aye, we’re now Jonathan. We were just waitin’ on ya slow pokes ta get here.” Paul said,
“Then let’s go.” Erica said,
“YEAH!!” Sylas said, they all looked at Andrew for the final call.
“Alright, here we go.” Andrew said, kicking his legs lightly against Knight Sky, causing him to sprint down the ruined streets. The others charged along with him.
And they went off, on their way into the Wasteland.
Dodo Tales (Ep25 S1)
Jerry looked back, and tried to get the bola off of Eden, but to no avail. The man came closer and Jerry asked "who are you?"
He lifted his pike to finish Eden, but Jerry pushed him back with all his strength. He threw Jerry off of him, and he hit the arena wall and felt dizzy. "I AM FENRIR, FUTURE RULER OF THIS ARK, AND NO FOOLS SHALL EVER CHANGE THAT!" He boomed, as he drove the pike through Eden. Jerry couldn't take it anymore. He knocked Fenrir over on his back, and tried to get the pike out of his hands. He stood up and spun the pike in a circle, it flipped Jerry on his side so hard that he thought he had broken a bone. Obviously, everyone thought Jerry was dead. He crawled towards Eden. "Tell me you can make it" Jerry whispered
"Promise me you'll be alright" Eden coughed up blood and said weakly "only you can save the Ark now. Take this, it's all I can do for you now" he handed Jerry something and collapsed. his lifeless eyes still staring into Jerry's...
The horrifying life of a coelacanth
The small but sometimes large fish lives everywhere. Being 1 of the 2 only passive animals in the ocean every single aquatic Land creatures or carnivorous fish make a meal out of this poor little fish. And worst part is that coelacanths spawn all over the islands lakes rivers and even oceans. The life of an adult coelacanth is the most brutal they only adults only appear in rivers or lakes leading to the ocean. I can tell you. Dieing to a jelly fish is the most painful way to go but the jellyfish fish kill these guys instantly. Dieing to a mega piranha or saber tooth salmon is is far more drawn out than a jellyfish death. Let’s have a moment of silence for these poor poor fish
The Obelisk
-Chapter 24-
Forest burst from the trees.
“Forest!” Spark yelped.
“Where Ripper?” Rust asked.
“What’s wrong?” Crimson yelled.
Forest bent over, panting hard. “It’s a trap!”
“What?” Spark, Crimson and Rust cried.
“We have to get out of here,” He yelled. “I don’t know who’s side she’s on, but it’s not our side. She doesn’t really know Peeri at all.”
“I knew it,” Spark snarled softly.
“What are we gonna do?” Rust yelled.
“I say we take her on!” Crimson yelled.
“She’ll kick your butt in a heartbeat and you know it,” Spark said to Crimson. “We have to run.”
“And quick,” Forest added. “She was right behind me. She could come any seco—”
Ripper burst from the forest, bashing the top of her head into Forest, flinging him acrossed the landscape.
“FOREST!” Spark screamed
Forest slammed straight into a rock, pain reverberating through every bone and muscle. He collapsed to the ground beneath him, unable to move.
“Gues I’m gonna have to go with plan B,” he heard Ripper hiss. “Kill one of you.” Forest opened his eyes and saw her turn to him with a malevolent smirk.
Before she could do anything more, Crimson leaped forward with a roar of fury. She landed on Rippers neck and sunk her claws into the Velanosaurs scales and bit hard.
Ripper let out a bellow that shook the earth and rung in Forests brain. She reached up with one talon and yanked Crimson off of with brute force.
Crimson jumped back up, hissing, as Spark ran forward and bit into Rippers leg. Rust jumped next, digging his back claws into her heaving side.
Ripper shook herself vigorously, roaring. She wacked Spark aside with her tail, flung Rust off with one jump, and ran forward to clap her talon over Forests head.
“Hope you had a nice life,” she hissed. She opened her mouth, exposing her sharp teeth.
This is it.
“No!” The others screamed.
This is where I die.
And Forest couldn’t even fight back, because of the pain he was in. He just stared up as Ripper lifted her neck high, preparing to finish him with one bite.
And then something whammed into Ripper, and a hard rock or tail whacked Forest in the side of the head, making him dizzy.
Ripper roared and fair it her attacker, who was bigger than her. They grappled at each other’s claws and tails, and the last… thing… Forest saw… was the opposing carnivore throw Ripper down the nearest hill…. before Forest closed his eyes and everything went…. Dark.
So there I was, on my 290 tuso with 50k hp and a mastercraft saddle. I was farming black pearls to get myself a replicator when all of a sudden FIVE of these guys spawned out of the woodwork and attacked me, now let me tell you, don’t be fooled by the sometimes diminutive size of these things, they do a lot of damage. I reckon one or two my tuso could have taken if I took breaks to heal, but five at once? My tuso didn’t stand a chance.....
Hope’s Cry
Chapter twenty
Buddy looked at his surroundings. The bed he was laying on was white, the walls were white, the floor was white, and the ceiling was white. It was so bright that you couldn’t see the door too the room. Until it opened…. “Ah I see you’ve woken up from your ‘nap’?” The creature that walked in asked. Buddy could tell right away that it was a light brown jerboa. “…. Yeah… nap… let’s go with that!” Buddy said slowly. “My name is Dr. Benjamin Eavs. You can call me Ben. I’m going too help you get better! I’m the author of the bestselling book: The Arks: Over heaven!” The jerboa said cheerfully. “I’ve never heard of that book…” Buddy said slowly. “Yeah… that’s because it’s not out yet, I’ve only gotten too chapter 22.” Ben said sheepishly. “Oh… well it was nice talkin—” Buddy began. “Ben! Is the Purlovia awake?” A man asked as he walked into the room. Buddy turned too look at the human. The man had brown hair, blue eyes, and a blue and red coat. “Yes sir he just woke up!” Ben said. “Hello! My name is Dr. Yang! Your new here right?” The human asked curiously. “Yes I am, you can call me Buddy….” Buddy said slowly. “I’ve heard that you have been having ‘seizures’. Tell me did you dream in your sleep?” Yang asked brightly. “Yeah… they were mostly about people dying.” Buddy replied. “Hmm… let’s see if we can make you have another one. If we find out how you have these we can find a way too stop them….” Yang said. “I developed a serum that can make people go too sleep. Want too give it a try?” Yang asked. “Sure….” Buddy replied. Dr. Yang poured the serum into a bowl so Buddy could drink it. Buddy took a few sips then felt the familiar pain in his back. Then everything went black.

Buddy opened his eyes. He was laying in the rubble of a town. Laying next too him was a human. The man had dark brown hair, blue eyes, a pale face, and a long blue coat. He was covered in bruises and scars. The man stood up slowly and started searching frantically for something. “EVELIN?” The man yelled. Buddy turned too see three more people searching as well. The man spotted a body laying in the rubble. The man sprinted towards the body. He collapsed next too the body. “Evelin we got to go. Come on get up! Evelin! Come on wake up! Please don’t leave me! Come on get up.” The man sobbed. “Mars… she’s gone… we have too go.” A woman nearby said quietly. “Hope you have too heal her please!” Mars replied urgently. “I can’t. We have too go.” Hope replied. Buddy blinked and was back in the white room. Except there was only one difference. There were over a hundred more beds in the room. And all of them were occupied…

The Terrible Demise of Tortuga
Chapter twenty nine(a early valentine special)
The next week flew by quickly with all the wedding preparations until finally the special day came.
Emma was at the wedding building standing there while her mother did her hair. “I’m so nervous.” She told Arianna. “It’s okay honey, the only thing that matters is…..if you love Andrew. Do you?” Arianna asked. “Yes, with all my heart.” Emma said. “Then that’s all that matters. There! You’re hair is done.” The door to the room they were in opened and Aragorn walked in. “Are you ready?” He asked. Emma nodded.
The place was decorated with red, pink, and white roses everywhere. After all they were being married on Valentine’s Day. Andrew stood underneath the wooden arch facing all of the people in the town in the pews. Just then a door swung open and Emma exited on her father’s arm. Aragorn led her down the middle of the pews to the archway where Andrew stood. Emma and Andrew clasped hands then the minister stepped right next to them. “Andrew, do you take Emma to be your beloved wife? Through sickness and health?” The minister asked. “I do.” Andrew said staring deeply into Emma’s eyes. “And you Emma, do you take Andrew to be your husband? Through sickness and health?” The minister asked Emma. “I do.” Emma said gazing deep into Andrew’s eyes. “The I pronounce you husband and wife! You may kiss the bride!” Emma and Andrew kissed. The crowd cheered except for the mayors. Michael gave a dark stare at the newly wedded couple. Andrew and Emma walked through the church headed for the door, greeting congrats givers, and well wishers as they went. Aragorn shook Andrews hand and said “be true.”.
Emma spent the next days moving in with Andrew so they didn’t see her a lot. She and Andrew moved into a new house close to Mrs. Lois’ shop. They were very happy. “I miss Emma!” Jaquin said one night after dinner before they went to bed. “I know honey, but Emma is married now so she can’t live with us no more.” Arianna said. “I wish she could!” Josephina pouted. Before Arianna could respond the telephone rang. Aragorn picked it up. “Hello.” He said cheerfully. “Hi this is Andrew.” The voice on the other side said. “Hello Andrew! What do you need?” Aragorn asked. “I know it’s after time that we have to stay in our houses but……would you mind coming over?” Andrew asked in a hushed worried voice. “Sure. What’s wrong?” Aragorn asked, his voice growing worried. “It’s Emma. Something’s wrong with her. Her eyes…they’ve turned almost white! She doesn’t want you to come over though. She says it’s all her fault…” Andrew said his voice breaking. Aragorn exchanged looks with his wife. “Okay, I’m coming over.” He hung up then grabbed a jacket and hurried out the door. “What was that about?” Jack wondered aloud.
*Ding, dong!* The door bell of Emma and Andrew’s rang. Andrew opened the door for his father in law. Aragorn hurried inside. Andrew led him to the living room where Emma sat staring off into space. Her eyes were a dull white. “Emma are you okay?”Aragorn asked. Emma turned to him, tears pouring down her face. “Y-you Sh-shouldn’t have c-c-come.” She sobbed. “It’s all my fault, all my fault.” Aragorn looked at his daughter in worry. The door bell rang again and Andrew father, the doctor stepped in. Aragorn had stopped by his house on the way over. Andrew’s father looked Emma over. “I don’t see anything indicating the reason why she went blind.” The good doctor said. Suddenly Emma’s medallion began to glow. She gasped in horror then moaned in distress. “It’s all my fault.” She whispered. Eventually after he had made sure that Emma was fine Aragorn went home. He passed Mrs. Lois’ house, what he didn’t notice was her watching him from the window.
Just before lights out time Aragorn arrived back at his house. The kids were already in bed. “I don’t know… she just went blind for no reason.” Aragorn said. “It’s best we go to bed.” Arianna said worriedly.

Chapter 29
When they reached the obelisk, Caesar ran up to the terminal, he looked around but all he saw was a red button, and a slot where you could put some sort of key. “What is this! Where is the terminal to shut this down!” He said. Then he heard laughter, a vile sound.. it was Salizars laugh. “You really thought the boss terminal is where I started this?!” He said laughing, “oh Caesar how easy it is to outsmart you and your pitiful gang.” He continued. “Where are you Salizar!” Caesar said, then a mechanic wyvern flew up from the ledge, with Salizar sitting atop it. “Do you like it? It’s called a voidwrym pulled it out of a security system for something called “the genesis shuttle” Salizar said. The others where already running up to the terminal when Salizar spoke again. “Don’t you get it?! That rock drake who told you to come here was lying, JUST as I instructed,” Salizar said. “He put up a good act.. I almost don’t want to leave him here, oh well he served his purpose, just like the others before him.” He said. “Your insane!” Caesar said. “.. maybe, but I will survive wile you die here.. oh speaking of that you might want to run, we've got about… hmm, an hour before the obelisks begin.” Salizar said. And at that Caesar turned and ran, ignoring Salizars taunts and laughter, he told the others to run and they did, then they grew tired “why even run?!” One of the Gigantopithicus said, “we’re dead nomatter we’re we go..” he said. “Maybe not.. we know a placce but it is forbidden to go there..” Seascale said. “I don’t think that matters right now..” Nash said. “Probably not.. it’s under the floating isle, we should ssplit up try to warn as many creaturess as we can.” Seascale said. “Yes we should- VVVVBBMMMMMM, at that moment the obelisks erupted pure energy shooting into the ground, with a massive shockwave that sent them all rearing, the obelisks blinding glow illuminated the dark woods with blue, green, and red light. “HURRY.” Caesar said. They ran in all directions, telling anyone they could find where to run, some of the sea serpents went back home to warn their kingdom. They saved many.. but time was short, the blast from the obelisks shattered the ground creating cracks and scars in the earth, lava and fire was erupting from the chasms, when the creatures arrived from all around the ark, the sea serpents led them down the the cave. Caesar ran to the terminal in the cave, creatures nervously peeking in to see how they were going to be saved. The air was dry and Smokey and the fire and crevasses were nearing, Caesar couldn’t figure out how to unlock the terminal, then he saw another slot, he ran out of the cave, through the masses of creatures nervously standing in the shallow water, he climbed up to the clearing where they fought the dragon, he looked up and saw the blinding red glow of the obelisk, the fire, the destruction. He noticed how the shattered ground looked not that different from the usual landscape, and wondered “has this happened before?” He dismissed the thought and ran to the body of the dragon, he looked around, then noticed a crack in one of the horns, he pulled the key out the crack, then he scrambled to get back down. The creatures were even more nervous now, complaining and freaking out about the end of the world. He ran to the terminal placed the key in its slot, and the terminal instantly turned on cyan lights trailing from the terminal up to a huge tek door, the door glowed then opened, and instantly everyone tried to run inside like a stampede. “NO! EVERYONE SINGLE FILE LINE, NOW.” Ron yelled. The creatures wearily complied. “We don’t know what’s gonna be in here so let us go first.” He said. Bones, the five, the chief and seascale led the way they had no trouble getting through, the lava was easily avoidable and all the creatures inside had already been killed. “These creatures were killed by a strange fire.. Salizar.” Caesar said. “Guess that means we can escape from here..” Ping said. “Ya that’s the only good thing about it.” Caesar said. “How’ss your arm?” Seascale asked the chief. “It’ll be fine, I’ll just have a nice battle scar heh!” He said. “What happened down in the sea palace? I didn’t see your emperor in the crowd.” Caesar said. “She felt that we where foolss to leave when the problem “had nothing to do with the ssea” and that “the ocean will ssurvive a little shifting rocks and fire”,” Seascale said, “so we gathered as many people who would follow and left.” He said. “Hm sounds like you’ll have to coronate a new emperor..” Ron said. “Yess, we will.” he said. Then they reached another door, but this one seemed more like a hexagonal portal. Caesar looked at it, then the others. “Well guess this is where we go next..”
Under the waves: chapter 8
Pearl floated there, stunned. What others? What locked door? She shook her head and swam to the exit. “Wait.” Trench said, the first time he actually spoke after he found his dead sister. Pearl turned to him, confused. “Pearl.. do think that was.. a prophecy?” He said. “Maybe. I wonder how we’ll find ‘the others’.” She responded. “Maybe it’s magic?” Trench guessed. She shrugged. “I wonder who managed to kill all of these creatures. Even a mosasaur!” Pearl snarled. “I don’t know. We should look, though.” Trench said. Almost as soon as they swam out of the rubble a net was thrown in front of them. Pearl hissed, veering back. But trench didn’t see the net and was trapped in it. “NO!” Pearl screeched as trench was being dragged away by the humans. She swam after them as fast as she could, but couldn’t catch up. She surfaced to catch her breath. Then, pearl was aware of something strange. The water crackled with electricity. Her veins glowed like they were filled with lightning. She raced after the rafts, fueled by new speed. It began to rain. She caught up in less than a minute, and as if she commanded it herself, a lightning hold struck down from the sky and destroyed the raft, shattering it into pieces. The rain subsided, and she stopped glowing. Replacing her energy was exhaustion, and she couldn’t move. Breathing heavily, she floated on the surface, trying to regain her strength. The. She saw trench in the net, slowly sinking. He would drown for sure. She swam down and heaved him up, which was a very hard task as she was already exhausted and trench was large then her. Then trench woke up. “Ow… everything hurts.” He groaned. “Are you ok? What happened?” Pearl asked him. “You started glowing a little and your eyes turned BLUE. The it started to rain and.. everything flashed white. I.. don’t know after that.” He answered. “Pearl… I think that prophecy the mechalodon gave us… I think your one of the ‘others’.” He said. And he was probably right.

Chapter 41: Principal, Principles
Part 1/3
It’s quiet.
The wind softly whistled throughout the snowy tundras, and what resembled snowflakes fell past his face. The boy’s chitin armor was especially tight in this type of weather.
Croak, croak.
The boy looked at his Pteranodon. Lifeless eyes, it’s been through it all. He reached forward and gently caressed its crest, but even with his affections, it showed no remorse.
But the more he petted it, the more he moved his hand back and forth on the creature, the more he felt his hands tremble.
“Why’d I do it, Monarch? They’d done nothing wrong. They just knew too much about this place,” he whispered.
He took steady, deep breaths, and felt his heart rate go down. His hands stopped trembling. It was for the best, anyway. Knowers were too dangerous. Too unpredictable.
So even though Mr. Mo had not specifically ordered him to sabotage and kill Knowers, he had to do it for his own safety.
The boy blinked his emerald green eyes, snapped his fingers, and turned around, walking to the small settlement of wooden huts that was tucked away at the seams of a mountain. One of three obelisks hung in the air above the mountain peak, its blue glow making him shiver.
Crunch, crunch, crunch.
The snow crunched under his feet as he approached the settlement, and the Pteranodon let out another croak. As he began to enter the premises, he noticed a gang of five jeering each other on, drinking out of their jars and pushing each other around like vicious dogs. They were wearing suits of hide armor and seemed to be in a daze.
The boy’s eyes shot a look at their leader, Brad, and Brad must have noticed. Short, black hair that was tied into a knot at the back, he smirked and nodded his head at him.
“Hey, wouldn’t you look at that, The principal’s little pet Loki is back,” Brad snickered.
Loki turned to him, a glare striking Brad’s face. Brad’s buddies turned to stare at him, and they all let out hollers of amusement and joy.
“We got a problem?” Loki asked.
“Yes, yes we do. Where’s our warm clothes?” Brad asked with a growl, “We’ve been freezing our butts off here and you’re just cooped up in the house doing nothing, you sack of nuts. We were expecting-”
Loki reached forward with immense speed and grabbed Brad by the throat, wrapping his fingers around his larynx and squeezing tightly. Brad began to choke as Loki began to raise his arm, the muscles all across his arm activating as Brad dangled in the air. He let out futile struggles by kicking his feet and prying at his hand, but it was no use.
“Psh. Really? I’ve done nothing? That’s hilarious coming from you,” Loki spat. Brad’s implant began to glow, but Loki slammed him onto the powdery snow.
“Try it all you want, you’re not entitled to anything around here. It’s survival of the fittest, and if you think others are gonna do the work for you? Don’t expect anything in return if you aren’t even going to contribute,” Loki snarled, shaking Brad up and down. Brad began to turn blue in the face, and his friends watched on in horror until someone’s cry shot through the air.
“Alright. That’s enough, Loki. We won’t kill anyone here now.”
Loki recognized his voice immediately. Loki let go of him immediately and shot up, standing. He turned around and took a saluting stance, his loyalty unwavering.
“Ah ha ha ha,” Mr. Mo laughed as wiped snow off his combed back gray hair. The wrinkles on his face seemed more defined than they were back at Terran High, and he still had that jagged scar that ran down his left eye. He was wearing a suit of fur armor, made from the pelts of the animals of the tundra. And his tanned face set him apart from everyone else in the snowy settlement. It was like he didn’t really belong here. Yet, at the same time, he was the only reason this settlement could have even come to life.
Mr. Mo added on, “Come on Loki. I see you’ve finished the scouting mission. Let’s go to my office and talk about it. And also about what I’ve found, it’s really important. I want your thoughts on it.”
Brad let out a snicker, his head looking at one friend and to the next.
“See? Told you that he’s his pet.”
Loki shot a sneer at the group as they began to laugh, but as he looked back he already saw Mr. Mo walking away to the stone compound tucked away at the corner of the settlement.
