If ur a high level this should take u like 6-15 gun shots depending on level but if ur level 45 or lower stay away these thing throw SHIT AT YOU.

There is a bug that stops the Chalicotherium eating the second beer unfortunately not sure how common it is.

These guys might seem passive but they just won’t attack you until you get close, they will absolutely destroy you if you dare to be in their presence. And worst of all, they will kill your level 20 dodo named Bob.

They're hostile but are a passive tame. WHY. If you just stand next to them feeding them they're just gonna kill you

You should REALLY use beer to tame them it’s a lot easier.

This is an insane dino, be wary when you tame it with beers, then it’s done, you have an insane creature. It can throw rocks at a good range, and it doesn’t feel any damage while falling. Quick and strong, this is a viable dino. Don’t hesitate to tame it! 👍🏼 (To craft beers you need a beer barrel, obviously.)

Most preferred beer, but make sure you have it in your item slot to press e! You can also use stimberries to tame it if you like waiting a year.

I have found it useful to wear a ghillie suit while taming one of these creatures. Open areas are preferred. (Don't want to lose track of the big guy.) You could also possibly try trapping them with structures of your choice. (I haven't tried trapping any.) Possibly a trap with an open roof where you can still reach it. More chalico vs carno thoughts, while the chalico is better in a fight than a carno, chalicos attract way too much aggro, even dilos go after them.

Definitely recommend as an early tame however it does drink beer to tame (or go the long and hard way and use stimberries which I personally do not recommend).

And the cool thing is that even after tame you can still throw dirt grenades (if you want to call it that), and they charge at you if too close to them so be careful.

Mine is around level 30-40 and I can kill rexes and allos easy just a bit more stam and has 4000 health took 3 beer to tame at level 20 said it would take 9 biggggggg waist of my time making beer☹️
