Taming & KO Tips

How do I tame a ceratosaurus? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a ceratosaurus.
if youre planning on taming this and youre just starting out please get to a high enough level and make sure you tame a dino you absolutely dont want and give it the hemogoblin cocktail and feed it to the cerato just a freindly tip
If you are playing ASA then all you have to do is go looking for ceratos, find one with babies, slaughter the parents, and imprint on the ceratos (I recommend killing with thylacoleo.
Kill the adult and Reprint again mamalians
10 hemoglobin for a 150 on 1x offical server about 1 minute between feedings and 5.7 taming each feeding does not stay drunk takes 5 hemoglobin first round then 5 more the second using ascended kibble. Keeps taming effectiveness for second round
Use a deinotherium, when drunk, the cerato will often stay stuck in deino legs, which is easier to feed and safier
The best way to tame them in my opinion is to tame 2 archelon (if you either have the mod or when they are added to offical) and breed a few of them. Imprinted turtles have so much health they are amazing for this tame. Higher quality saddles are fairly easy to find in (purple?) drops which help the drunkness process more
Scoop up your wild Cerato with your Rhynio.
Feed Rhynio the Hemoglobin cocktail.
Cerato will attack the Rhynio while you carry it to a safe spot wait until fully drunk then do the passive tame in the safe location.
Since everyone else is just saying find and adopt an orphan Cerato,it seems to fall to me to tell you how to actually tame a Cerato. Firstly, you’re gonna want to kill some Ceratos for their spines, get your own blood packs and make narcotics to create Hemogoblin Cocktails. Those will be your first step towards taming one. Secondly, you’ll need to take your most durable mount and feed it the cocktails and take to somewhere where Ceratos spawn and get them to attack your mount. While Cerato doesn’t exactly hit the hardest,it surely attacks quickly so make sure the mount your taking also has loads of HP. Eventually you’ll see an indicator showing how close the Cerato you want is to getting drunk. It’s always helpful to carry more cocktails on you in case you’re running out of time. Once the Ceratos gotten completely drunk,it’s like any other passive tame from there.
Hope this helped in some way.
They eat meat after tame.
You don’t need to be underground to hatch these eggs or use air conditioners. Just use a tent
If you see a good one and aren't prepared to tame it right away, just knock it out. It will buy you a couple of hours to get ready.
Super easy tames currently with 2X on official.
To tame a 150 your going to need about 25-30k health and 4-5 hemos, takes at least 10 minutes to get drunk definitely use kibble or mutton
Feed the hemogoblin to a brachiosaurs to tank the damage ( Brachiosaurus is also from ark additions)
THE CERATOSAURUS
IN ORDER TO TAME A CERATOSAURUS:-
THINGS YOU'LL NEED:-
1. A tanky dino that has atleast over 15k health.
2. Cerato Venom Spines that you can get by killing Ceratos, Narcotics and Blood Packs.
3. Raw Prime Meat or Raw Mutton or Raw Meat or Extraordinary Kibble.
METHOD:-
STEP 1:
Combine the Cerato Venom Spines with Narcotics and Blood Packs. You'll get Hemogoblin Cocktail.
STEP 2:
Now, put it in your dino's inventory and then consume it.
STEP 3:-
Get the attention of the Ceratosaurus. Let it attack your dino. There will be written in red 'Drunk __%'.
STEP 4:
Continue the process from STEP 3.
STEP 5:
When it'll show 'Drunk 100%', feed it Raw Prime Meat or Raw Mutton or Raw Meat or even Extraordinary Kibble.
You have a Ceratosaurus :D
FACTS:-
F1: It has progressing movement speed making it the fastest dino in ARK, surpassing the Gallimimus and the Carcharodontosaurus.
F2: It has a Bloodburst attack that bleeds dinos.
F3: It has a Horn attack and a Tail Whip attack.
F4: It is kind of a choice in the Broodmother boss fight but the Megatheriums are still better.
THANK YOU TO SEE THIS TIP AND ENJOY YOUR NEW CERATOSAURUS :)
OUR PREVIOUS PRO TIP:- THE CRITICAL
CARCHARODONTOSAURUS
Should include a few more words
On the island I tamed the modded version using a daedon with a decent saddle. Daedon can heal off the damage it does.
Don’t try to tame it until you have extraordinary kibble—with prime or mutton it takes a VERY long time and a lot of feeds, and he’ll sober up and you have to repeat the drunkening process a second time.
Forcefeed one of your creatures with hemogoblin cocktail (unlocked at lvl 60) and let the Cerato attack this creature. (You can ride the creature and navigate it to get attacked more, but this isnt necessary.) It will get drunk and once it is 100% drunk it will become passive and you can feed it (pref. Kibble is Extraordinary).
Depending on your taming speed and food, you might need to make it drunk several times so you should prepare several Hemogoblins (it should take ~1-2 to get it drunk once).
!Traps are not not needed but recommended to not have it get distracted, HOWEVER the trap must be big (a square of 4 behemoth gates is enough), otherwise it wont get drunk.
For official servers on x1. You’ll need 8 hemoglobin and 20 extraordinary kibble. Always bring extras.
I assume many here are taming Cera's on 2x+ so beware. Over here on 1x official, prepare to bring over 10 Hemoglobin Cocktails and 15+ Ascendant kibble for a 140. Its drunkenness will run out at around 33-40% taming, so prepare to have a good soaker/30k Rock elemental with a good saddle to have to get a 140 drunk 3 times.
Wouldn't recommend taming these on 1x.
It takes 10 extraordinary kibbles in official x2 for lv 150,
probably 20 in x1
