Tips & Strategies

What are tips for ceratosaurus? Tips and strategies for ceratosaurus in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
To the person who asked if you need to download the for these to spawn first of all, no and second of all why would you say “up for no” unless you knew that it does spawn without the mod and just wanted likes(i can assume the latter)
On the island I tamed the modded version using a daedon with a decent saddle. Daedon can heal off the damage it does.
Don’t try to tame it until you have extraordinary kibble—with prime or mutton it takes a VERY long time and a lot of feeds, and he’ll sober up and you have to repeat the drunkening process a second time.
THE CERATOSAURUS
IN ORDER TO TAME A CERATOSAURUS:-
THINGS YOU'LL NEED:-
1. A tanky dino that has atleast over 15k health.
2. Cerato Venom Spines that you can get by killing Ceratos, Narcotics and Blood Packs.
3. Raw Prime Meat or Raw Mutton or Raw Meat or Extraordinary Kibble.
METHOD:-
STEP 1:
Combine the Cerato Venom Spines with Narcotics and Blood Packs. You'll get Hemogoblin Cocktail.
STEP 2:
Now, put it in your dino's inventory and then consume it.
STEP 3:-
Get the attention of the Ceratosaurus. Let it attack your dino. There will be written in red 'Drunk __%'.
STEP 4:
Continue the process from STEP 3.
STEP 5:
When it'll show 'Drunk 100%', feed it Raw Prime Meat or Raw Mutton or Raw Meat or even Extraordinary Kibble.
You have a Ceratosaurus :D
FACTS:-
F1: It has progressing movement speed making it the fastest dino in ARK, surpassing the Gallimimus and the Carcharodontosaurus.
F2: It has a Bloodburst attack that bleeds dinos.
F3: It has a Horn attack and a Tail Whip attack.
F4: It is kind of a choice in the Broodmother boss fight but the Megatheriums are still better.
THANK YOU TO SEE THIS TIP AND ENJOY YOUR NEW CERATOSAURUS :)
OUR PREVIOUS PRO TIP:- THE CRITICAL
CARCHARODONTOSAURUS
Found one spawned on the lagoon beach (Viking Bay) in Ragnarok! My argy was able to kill it in two bites!
I think these are Abra and they were all over the center when they came out
Forcefeed one of your creatures with hemogoblin cocktail (unlocked at lvl 60) and let the Cerato attack this creature. (You can ride the creature and navigate it to get attacked more, but this isnt necessary.) It will get drunk and once it is 100% drunk it will become passive and you can feed it (pref. Kibble is Extraordinary).
Depending on your taming speed and food, you might need to make it drunk several times so you should prepare several Hemogoblins (it should take ~1-2 to get it drunk once).
!Traps are not not needed but recommended to not have it get distracted, HOWEVER the trap must be big (a square of 4 behemoth gates is enough), otherwise it wont get drunk.
For official servers on x1. You’ll need 8 hemoglobin and 20 extraordinary kibble. Always bring extras.
I assume many here are taming Cera's on 2x+ so beware. Over here on 1x official, prepare to bring over 10 Hemoglobin Cocktails and 15+ Ascendant kibble for a 140. Its drunkenness will run out at around 33-40% taming, so prepare to have a good soaker/30k Rock elemental with a good saddle to have to get a 140 drunk 3 times.
Wouldn't recommend taming these on 1x.
It takes 10 extraordinary kibbles in official x2 for lv 150,
probably 20 in x1
Genuine question. Do these guys spawn in with babies in play station? I hunted seven, and none had any offspring, so I am wondering if that is only in pc.
It is confirmed, I have one on valguero:D
This dino is very fast! If you’re not trying to tame it, get out of the way!!
As far as I see it, you should use a high grade tame to farm the spines, about 100 spines should suffice for a 150, then make 10 cocktails. Once you find your cerato, use that same high grade tame, about maybe 5500 HP or more, and force feed the tame cocktails until the cerato becomes drunk while attacking it, then it becomes a passive tame.
Are these bugged? was getting bit by one once I ate the cocktail and they weren’t getting drunk
Took about 4 hemoglobin to get it 100% it should only take 3 but it’s a bit glitchy. 20 extraordinary kibble for a 145 on an official server. Had to get it drunk twice.
Counter feed meat against its damage! Makes a big difference
For finding these on official, I have accidentally stumbled upon a load of them in scorched earth as well, to the mountain ranges in the west by the wyvern trench. 34lat, 25lon. Gather those spines up, take a rhynio if you can and hemoglobin that sucker while you carry it to your pen. Happy hunting.
Most of them you'll find next to volcano by the river and carno Island. You can use a stego to tame them just make sure the health is over 20k, at best 30k so that you don't die from it. It took about 5 to 6 of the hemoboglin to get it drunk 100% for a 150. Make sure to be facing this dino so that it can start getting drunk.
The Cerato Venom Spine can also be dropped by the wild baby. So kill them as well.
Just finished taming on on official, a racer works well, or a stego, and bring 3-4 of the brews if you’re doing anything above 130 2 ran out too quickly and the cerato resets it’s drunk was quickly (just feed it to your Dino like a pheromone and let the cerato attack, once it’s 100% hop off and feed kibble)
