Tips & Strategies

What are tips for ceratosaurus? Tips and strategies for ceratosaurus in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
To tame them easily, kill the parent and use an argentavis to carry the baby or just use a cryopod to also grab the baby.
Found some at Carno Island and the Volcano.
150 F cerato took 8 hemoglobins and 20 extraordinary kibble on 1X to tame. Took 4 to get it drunk.
Will not get drunk if in a trap.
Tamed a 150 with 2x rates took about 29 prime meat used a rockgolem with a good saddle and drunker it out three times
Heads up you don't get the venom spikes from killing tamed babies.
If you're early game and want a cerato as early as possible but can't or won't find a baby or you can't kill the cerato just lead it to something that It will fight (I would personally go for a theri since they spawn in the same rough areas) and then collect the venom spines from its bag ;)
If you aren't taming them, kill them or get out of there if you are not on the best tame. They quickly attack and overwhelm you if you let them.
I don’t now about this creature but I want to find it so that would be very helpful thank you 🤩🥹
The best way to tame one is to get a creature that can tank a lot of hits and make sure you have at least for hemoglobin for a max level and then I personally use my bronto that has 40 K health and a platform saddle, the higher, the armor rating the better but I just let the Cerato attack me and then I can dismount and help defend it from the platform saddle and I’ve consistently been able to tame 150s without worry of my bronto dying just make sure you pay attention to how long each hemoglobin has left so you can use another one if needed
there everywhere around green obelisk
Easy to get drunk if you have a Rhy Bug, pick it up, active the hemoglobin cocktail while you transport to a safe location, drop once drunk and feed in safety.
Me and my tribe mate knocked one out and last night I realise it was a passive tame. Is there a cheap way to tame it
This Tip has 3 segments: To find one, to tame one, and to escape one.
TO FIND CERATOSAURUS:
They are found for sure on The Island, Scorched Earth, and I’ve heard The Center.
The Island: I’ve found most them to be in jungles, near or on inland rivers, and Carno Island.
I’m not sure where on the other maps.
When you encounter them:
Be prepared for a long fight, they are very fast, attack fast, have lots of health, but have weak attack.
Be on a mount because they knock you back with their headbutt attack, and it can be hard to aim. They may be relatively weak, but are still a threat when you are alone.
To escape:
They are REALLY fast. The longer they run, the faster they go, so go in the water if you have a good swimming mount, like a iguanadon, which I used to kill one because they are great swimmers and you can fire from their back.
If there is no water, try running in circles until you get help, the ceratosaurus when running has a horrible turn radius, HOWEVER, they do have a spin attack and can turn 180 degrees when standing still.
Basically, just run in water, and if you can’t, you’re cooked.
Thanks for reading my tip, hope it helps.
Don’t know where else to put this but why isn’t acrocanthosaurus on dex. It’s coming to the official game from garugas mod. It now has a new asa model and new mechanics like the fake roar. Not sure why I’m saying this just felt like it.

Haven't seen anyone recommend this. Bring Cakes or Meat. You can mitigate about 1/3 or more if damage by constantly feeding.
My thyla with 8k hp and a primitive saddle was about to get a 150 drunk.
If you want to tame yourself one of these my personal favourite creature to tank hits is a 100% imprint Archelon. high HP and Resistances make it an absolute wall against all hits.
It has a venom DoT effect which stacks nicely with carnivores with the bleed effect. It is also very fast, so feel free to go adventuring/hunting on a thylacoleo with this guy as your backup. Most significantly, it has a healing ability, so it looks like a high level with HP and Melee would do well amongst a group of t-rexes, potentially even in a boss battle. Very nice and easy tame too.
if youre planning on taming this and youre just starting out please get to a high enough level and make sure you tame a dino you absolutely dont want and give it the hemogoblin cocktail and feed it to the cerato just a freindly tip
