Herbivore Empire

Chapter 7: The First (Fair) Fight!

(Note, this is not in Sequoia’s perspective, just a general overwrite of the battle)

The few remaining active herbivore soldiers marched towards their battle, their new armor gleaming in the glorious light of the setting sun. Their goal was to make their enemies pay for the slaughter the herbivores had endured the last few weeks.

Soon the battle scene was ahead, with many of their fellow soldiers laying dead in the maroon brown mud they fell in. As the soldiers stood in formation, the shuttle rustling of leaves and cracking of branches warned them of their enemies arrival.

The savage creatures smashed through the undergrowth and trees, as a armor plated one snatched a pachirhinosaurus and then screeched in pain as the spikes breached through its throat. It was sent stumbling into the woods making sounds of agony.

“I-it worked!!” A soldier called between the ranks, just as more of the monsters hurled at the herbivores, with dangerous snarls.

“Keep formation! Just let them kill themselves!” A officer called from the front. The monsters fell for it again, sending themselves screeching into the forest, with one not even making it from hideous wounds that reached it’s skull.

Soon wave after wave of giant, toothy carnivores came, with no success. Soon only a few enemies were standing, and they fled without even attacking.

“We won!” The officer called, cheered. Soon the rest of the unit joined him. They had one the first of many real battles, and maybe, just maybe, they had a chance to win the Great War.
