Use a school of Sabertooth Salmon and harvest them with a sickle to get a better chance at prime fish meat when you spot one. For the best results go for one around level 90 or above if you can, and make sure you have at least 125 narcotics on you when you knock it out. It can be a lengthy tame due to the overall tame percentage gain of fish but having a few of these with about 3k health and the rest of their levels into power makes them a nightmare, especially in water due to their stun. Enjoy, they're a favorite of mine.

Bolas work a treat, and also give you time to tranq or run like all hell. Also don't try and fight them on a boat... Bad idea...

Taming one was a lot easier then I thought. Just back up enough to the point were it can see you barely enough to attack, then throw a bola while it's coming at you and then use your tranq arrowsor darts to knock it out.

For the Baryonyx level 120 you just need 26 raw prime fish meat (no 61)

On mobile they’re way easier to tame because you can bola them. You can just make a door trap or something, or maybe just sniper it with tranqs from afar like jamar.

Where are they most common on val?

I was taming a spino, it was at 83% then I went into the water to get some more fish then the next thing I know I was being attacked then died, and I lost the spino. But I went back and tamed the Baryonyx. I was leveling up my sarco on the other side of the island(just got it tamed) then all of a sudden the (wild) baryonyx is fighting my sarco, my sarco died with the baryonyx at 98 health out of 440.

These bad boos are fast as HELL. A few tranq arrows and your just fine.

Your probably dead unless you are high level with good stuff then it's easy. Traqs will work to knock it out.

They are extremely good for taming basilos and can easily kill of mantas, just grab agro and kill them away from the whale. You don’t even need that high of a level.

Extremely good tame. If mounted, it really puts the Sarcosuchus to shame.

You can eat fish to have your health regenerated faster. Its stamina runs really slow when running too, so you dont have to bump up stam a lot. Really good starter tame to go in caves with as well, as some caves will have water drops, and it destroys piranhas with its stun move. Your spin move also stuns big creatures like sacros,it helps out a lot. Use this for cave exploring or a fast overall mount
