Baryonyx eat fish, so feed them raw fish when you knock them out, but I think they eat raw prime fish too, because other fish-eating knockout takes I’ve tamed eat fish too. They are very fast and swim like speed boats that got hyped, and they are small enough to fight through small entrances. But luckily they are strong so they can fight and bite lots of big ol’ dinos (absolutely massive ones not included). Baryonyx good, man. They also have an option to toggle “seek fish on low health”. To me that sounds like the cyborgs??? Keep it up ARK, ur doing great!!!

Here’s how to tame a bary

Step 1 get raw fish meat or raw prime fish meat

Step 2 get a cross bow or a bow (I used a cross bow )

Step 3 find a bary and get on high ground so it doesn’t get you (you can build a trap but I just did the high ground)

Step 4 knock it out

Step 5 put the raw fish meat or raw prime fish meat in its inventory

Step 6 wait till it tames

Now you have a bary I hope this helps:)

Waited hours for a baryonyx to heal up then remembered a tip that killing fish heals them up fast!

Baryonyx, despite their raptorlike legs, cannot be bola’d. Don’t learn this the hard way.

Make sure that you tame baryonx with fish meat because if you give it raw meat from dodo or any ground creature it will not work

Extremely useful, find them near almost any river bank. Lure them out of the water (do NOT try to fight them in the water, you will 100% die) and bola them. Then either knock them out with a few hits or hit it with a tranq arrow. We use them as protection when traveling, and they have takes out everything from a pack of raptors to a therinosaurus to carnos.

BOLA no longer immobilizes. I feel their size has been also change visually seems larger.

Argies can carry it on mobile arrow to the sky to let people know

Please please PLEASE make a trap for these guys. They are hella fast and can run away before you can shoot them again

Like the quetz... a Baryonyx cannot swim up and down but only at an angle 👍 Don’t make the same mistake I did and go to the bottom of the sea looking for basilo’s without scuba gear 😔 #drowned

I just did my first dungeon and got Baryonyx and Mammoth implants which one should I Tame? up for Baryonyx down for Mammoth 5 votes decide.

Great mount for the swamp. Riding in 1st person is just below the tree line. It's tall enough to avoid some kaprosuchus leaps. It has a high torpor to survive the snakes/frogs. Eating raw fish helps it heal super fast. It has a good sprint speed, can jump and can swim. My new favorite mount

For Mobile users, the Barry CAN be picked up by the Argi.

Significantly better than a raptor or carno.PLUS this thing can swim and its very VERY useful, and can be a great help in the first cave you have to explore in the south.(forgot the name of the cave)

When I first tamed a Baryonyx I found it very helpful to build a trap with a bait dinosaur inside (something like a low level para). Once you get out of the way, it will aggro to the bait and run into the trap. I tranq’d it before the para died, which was impressive because the para was lvl 10.

1. Find a Baryonyx

2. Climb on a rock

3. Shoot it with tranq arrows

4. Feed it fish me

5. You have a Baryonyx

Baryonyx can no longer be carried by Argentavis. Quetzal or above is needed to carry him. Baryonyx drag weight has been increased.
