Literally just make an argy trap in the space bridge area and trap it, feed it, love it forever. Also net gun works on them to separate form the rest of the pod

Do yourself a favor and find a YouTube video for a trap. Chasing them around is insane.

After about 1 minute of nothing happening, the Astrodelphis will start to lose taming progress, however, I have found that this does not affect taming efficiency. Nor does letting the Delphis knocking you back affect efficiency. Just keep in mind to be aware of your surroundings as you can be surprise attacked by a voidwyrm.

Passive tamed with element. Pretty much the same as passive taming a Diplo, they will attempt to play with you by knocking you back while doing 0 damage. Best strat is to wait for it to get stuck somewhere or kite it by staying next to it. The more element it ask for the more effective that feeding will be, typically I’ve seen them ask for 1, 3, 5, or 10 element at a time in that cycle on a slightly boosted server but could be more on official. Bring plenty of element as they do take quite a bit the higher the level. Thankfully element farming is easy, Saddle is unlocked at level 120 so no boss fight needed to get it, however you will have needed to do the Overseer, Rockwell, or Master controller in alpha, plus get a chibi to max to unlock the saddle.

I fed a 150 1 element and it got .9% tamed on official 1x

How to tame an astrodelphis:

You will need at least 10 element (extra just in case) and put them in your last slot

Then find an astrodelphis and clear the area of hostiles

Then pet the astrodelphis and it will run away then you will need to follow it and it will either let you feed it element of Pat it again

To get 100% taming it must be tamed during purple drops this is when element and element shards are the asteroids resource. It was so fast took like 10 element and got 100%

Feed it element to tame. Passive tame but will inflict damage at the beginning.

If you derender it while taming while it’s running away or if you’re distracted by an external threat, the taming effectiveness will go away and you will no longer be able to feed it.

I suggest making a trap for it made of stone and having it follow you that way you don’t have to worry about it running away after you pet and feed it.

My tribe uses the skiff to pick up the dolphin and when you do that you hop off the skiff and you can freely tame the dolphin.

To tame a space dolphin you will need element sometimes you may need alot, you find them in the space biome in Genesis part 2

First pet it,it will swim away don't worry just follow it, once it slows you pet it again(try to avoid hiting their head or you will bounce away) then you can feed it 1 element and it will swim away again,once slows again pet it 2 times and fed it 3 element it will swim away again, once slows again pet it 3 times and feed it 5 element it will swim away, once slowed again pet it 3 times and feed it 10 element, repeat till tamed the element increments you feed it go 1,3,5,10 then repeat

Be Carful Of Viodwryms (tek wyverns) while out there, they are very aggressive and agroo range is very far so be carful

If the one you want is in a group you can pet the ones you don't want to get them to swim away and leave you alone

Their saddle unlocks at level 120 you may be wondering how to get the saddle engram if level 105 is max level, we'll to get higher level you can either ascend on alpha any map for 15+ max levels, (I find manticore on scorched earth to be easiest way to ascend) find all explorer notes on all story maps for 10+ max levels, and you can also use chibis, kevel up the chibi and it will allow you to gain more max levels

What I do... I use Helena to scan it to see its lvl bc I have trouble with the spyglass on space biome..I will aggro it and lure it into the bridge and take it up a bit so it stays out of the space biome and not have to worry about voidwyrms... once it is where I feel is far enough I will tek speed run away and leave render...I will then pet and feed it

If u have a mount or shoulder pet with u u can store the element inside and just use 1 to feed. Best way is to lure the dolphin in one of these small air vents on the walls and trap it with 4 small gates. So it can't run away and u stand next to the dolphin and wait to pet and feed only a single ele. This method uses only 1/3 of the element in the description....

Depending on where the astrodelphis is within the space biome, you can trap them to tame them. 5 dino gates + 2 doors. Spaced wide enough for you to get through. In my case I used a combination of tek and metal gates and doors. Built the trap on the ship itself, not on any asteroid. Set the tek door to close after 4 seconds. Kited it down, bit me a few times but trapped her and floated above her petting and feeding element. Much easier than chasing her around. Not my idea, credit goes to youtuber Nappy_Playz.

Using a 3 Dino gate long taming trap works best, I connect the ends with 2 gates each side so the result is a hexagon, so it can’t knock u away during taming

then find the one you want

equip your tek gear

dont speed boost away from it just fly slowly away

kite it while doing this

then lure it in on one side

then close gate

and then feed it element

You tame this creature by giving it element once you have the element put it in the last slot of you hot bar pet it it can take several time so don’t get disceraged it will run away and you will have pet it again or give it element to tame after it is tamed give it MEAT don’t do the same mistake I did by giving it element after it was tamed

Ps. if other Astrodolphis see you feed their friends they will attack you

Build a trap out of 4 or 5 dino gates in a line with a door at each end, then get the dolphin to follow you in closing the door behind it. Keeping it enclosed makes it much easier to not miss a pet or feed. Watch out for the time if you build on an asteroid because at midnight the asteroid will disappear!

The feeding cycle goes: pet-wait-pet-1element, pet-pet-3element, pet-pet-5element, pet-pet-pet-10element. It will then cycle back round.
