Check captain fatdog for the best argy trap

If you taming an argie of any level doing bother using a trap.

I just use any fast mount like a raptor, iguanodon and even a Sarco could do the job and I blast it with arrows. Hit and run, hit and run.

By the way I got a 150 argie with this method on a sarco so it works quite well.

Dododex Says you can't knock it out with fists cause 100% chance of death but they are wrong. I just did it on official ASA with a level 90. The trick is you have to let the argy periodically eat your body to regen health. I had to die like 10+ times but it is doable. Some of those deaths were not intentional tho.

Anyway the method is simple (ASA)

Build

-one stone foundation

-three stone walls

-one slanted stone roof

Drop foundation. Put 2 walls down next 2 eachother as double wide doorways. And the 3rd as a secret door. Attach the roof to the middle wall extending out toward the unused opening acting as a funnel. Find low argy. Lure into opening. Go out thru secret door as it follows you in. Viola. Trapped argy. Now position yourself behind the secret door so that your punches hit but his attacks don't and Bam. You k.o. an argy beach Bob style day 1 with limited supplies. You may however want a few beds tho because as I stated. You will be dying a lot and feeding it your own body to keep its health up.

There is however one caveat. Flyers do not like staying in traps with no players in render distance. So you do need somebody to stay nearby to ensure he doesn't fly away when you die.

If you have it trapped let it wake up. Knock it out with tranq arrows. For example a 135 takes 21 arrows and 102 narcotic to keep unconscious. If you use the 21 arrows to knock it out let it wake up and use another 21 arrows to knock it again it will be ready to eat before the second time it wakes. Saves about 60 narcotic in the l process.

Iff your on mobile it's way easier

I still recommend a trap tho

Like the one with 3 stone Dino gateways

1: build the argy trap

could be any kind but recommend the one I was just talking about

So you place the Dino gateways like behind each other

But don't place the door that's facing the argy yet

2: lure the argy into the trap

Again I'm talking about that Dino gateway trap

So stand in the gateway

Shoot the argy and he should be flying towards u

Then move backwards and equip the door but don't place it yet

Iff the argy is in the trap with u then place the door and get out of that trap

3: KO

now just shoot tranq darts or arrows until its knock out

Renember I'm talking about mobile not pc

So then soothing balm and just feed him kibble or meat or prime really doesn't matter

Anyway chuck a saddle on it and you can fly

Anyway it has a around 110% movement speed

Reduces 50 % weight on crystals and other

Idk the health check it yourself

And unlike the pte it can attack while on the ground

And it can attack in the sky

What I mean by that is when you pick up a wild Dino you can basically just attack while your holding it

So yeah

Easy rg trap:

Requirements: 3 stone dinosaur gates, 1 reinforced dinosaur gateway, 3 stone pillars and ideally a pt (does not have to be good)

Execution: Once you have found your rg kill all surrounding creatures (leave some bodies for prime meat) then place the 3 stone gateways one by one to make a corridor (leaving a decent gap but not very big) then place the three pillars at the end of the corridor in the center the rg can not fly through this gap but the pt can (test before to make sure you got this right then make sure the gate door is on your hotbar. Go agro the rg with the pt (without hitting it just go near it) then lead it into the trap (remembering to wait for it and keep its agro) and fly out the end then dismount and run around the back to place the gate leave (pt on passive just in case and there we are trapped rg.

If breeding and you have a good male and looking to baseline with a female, when you hatch a female walk it near the full grown male and enable breeding on female when she's done growing she'll instantly lay a fertilized egg...

Just use 15 metal bolas and a basilli turret and catch them

Also place spikes around them while taming ( for safety)

( it is possible that they are with 2 or 3)

Indeed of having four Dino gates use three

If you find one in flat ground, kill something around it and put it in a trap, and the Arge will fly straight in.

Just tamed my first argy, with a few tranq arrows and a crossbow. just make it follow you to a beach with no agros and knock it.

Waaay less scary than you may think

So To Tame a Argy I recommend using Tranq Darts If You have Acess to that If you only have tranq arrows and a cross bow you can use that

On mobile you can actually find them in redwood forest but not sure with pc/console.

Uhmmmm uhmmmmm hello, hello, yes you, you, read this, now!, K if you read this, im just gonna tell you how to tame an argy very easy, but, maybe it's just for me, ok let's start first prepare a Tranq arrows or Tranq dart or some thing to knock it of and a crossbow for the Tranq Arrow and a riffle for the Tranq dart, and then prepare some narcotic for 40 torpor or an bio toxin for a 80 torpor raising, after that go prepare a tamed itchy (itchyosaurus)

And the itchy have to use a saddle, after that, go and prepare a meat, prime meat or kibble if you want to tame it faster, after that ride your itchy, and then just go to the island in the top in the right map ( i forget what the name of the island pls don't judge me ) well the island was on top of herbivore island and it was have much of carnivore, and then after you go to the island i Will not recommended to go from your itchy ( unles for some reason ), coz the island was dangerous, and when you see an argy shot it, and if the Arrow or dart or anything of it hit the argy the argy is gonna chase you then you just need to shot it until it knocked out then put a meat or kibble and surely check the unconcious bar if it reduce, feed it a bio toxin/narcotic, and you have to guard it incase a Dino just attack the argy, and congrats you have an argy

If you want to tame argentavis you have to use 10x soothing balm with raw meat. It takes only 1second

Don’t waste narcotics, Farm a whole load of Narcoberrys they work equal just Narcoberrys need a little more at a time for it to stay unconscious but overall Narcoberrys are good too.

REMEMBER TO MAKE A TRAP. This is really important if you plan on taming a argy. They will just run / kill u

This really isn’t a hard tame. The Argentavis has a “Rapid Regeneration” after eating the corpse of a dead animal. It also has a 50% weight reduction (example: 1 raw metal was 1.0 lbs but is now 0.5 on the argentavis) on Metal, Crystal, and Obsidian!

You can unlock there saddle at level 62! It’s a long journey until you get to that level so tame a pteranodon just to get the hang of an argy!

You don’t really need a trap.Just shoot it!

(Unpatched December 2022) How to instant tame an argentavis eliminating the need for narcotics-

Equipment: Tranq arrows w crossbow (or anything else), standard 3 gateway argy trap, dead creature of any kind, this isnt exactly required but a magnifying glass is incredibly helpful

Method: Trap the argentavis and tranq it until it starts fleeing due to high torpor, drag dead creature into trap with argy and wait until it is eaten and it receives a healing effect. The moment the creature is consumed you must knock out the bird as fast as possible, the faster the better the effect. If done correctly the argentavis’ food should drop by multiple thousands allowing you to insta tame. Usually what I do on official is I get a vulture and make it harvest and store mutton (it lasts two hours on its inventory but it cannot be inserted there you must put it on aggressive and on your shoulder and harvest a dead ovis) and do this glitch and tame a few 130+ argentavis’ in 15-30 minutes.
