2 - 3 Tranq arrows will successfully knock out an argentavis. Then, I gave the bird several pieces of meat and several types of berries. I left it and did other tasks. Came back a while later and it was tamed. I've done this 3 times successfully.

Some nice (and bad) things about reliable Argentavis

(A): has a MAJOR array of weight reductions (wood, metal, metal ingots, etc)

(B): has some 'desired' speed, making it very tedious to travel across large amounts of land, especially when you have large amounts of weight.

(C): I has a good stat distribution/desired stats, especially Weight

(D): can defend itself, but not well. (At least it can attack on the ground)

(E): it's pretty easy to tame for such usefulness

(F): amazingly high stamina efficiency, even at high weight

(G): commonly found in somewhat "safe" areas (the artic, mountains, redwoods)

(H): Sadly, it's saddle is at I think level 51 which is a pain (especially playing on base settings)

I’ve come across many of these feathery birds flying and/or walking minding their own business, they are fairly easy to tame and breed. To tame just simply knock it out using 3-5 tranqulizer darts, get some meat and put it in its inventory then sit down and relax. Just mind dire wolfs and Rex’s and other carnivores. And they are really easy to breed, just tame 2 of them, male, and female, put them both in a secure area and put them on wander then they’ll do their thing, and also it is really important to keep them to whatever temperature they need to be, simply use a campfire if they are cold and put them in water if they are too hot.

I've pumped health a freshly tamed argey and it got up to 30k health

Big struggle guys I had to go to the redwood lead him reversing with my tapejara and got off in a safe but it was to dark so I HAD TO RUN IN CIRCLES TILL MORNING and went to my base and this big eagle picked my doedicurus who had the highest health to attack so I made a few tranq arrows and I shot him he ran away but I chased him and he just landed and one headshot and he is 😴 very good tame srsly

Hi I don’t know if this is old news, haven’t played in a few months, but I hopped back on for extinctions release on ascended and the argentavis as well as other creatures such as the doed seem to now have headshot multipliers.
