Tips & Strategies

What are tips for argentavis? Tips and strategies for argentavis in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
Easiest technique I've found is make a taming raft all you need it to build a raft, 3x3 stone floor, 2 high stone poles in all 4 corners, put stone ceiling all the way across the top so 3x3 above that, then use door frames all the way around except in 1 spot to fly the argy in, then opposite whatever side you leave open by one put 2 ceilings extending out, then put a ceiling over the whole thing. If an argy is following you it'll fly sleightly higher than you, fly under the hole you made and the argy should fly right in, land your Petra or any other flyer on top, drop onto the extended ceiling and tranq that mother in the face!
You can lure the argentavis to volcano or you can basically knock it out anywhere besides mountain but remember to put spikes and for extra safety double layer it
GAMER TAG Dakota Johns
Argys are great for taming dung nettles on the Center. Go to the cave on lava island where there is a small bridge. If you fly down there will be lots of cave dwellers (snakes, spiders, bettles, etc.). Grab a dung bettor and bring it up to the first floor (before the lava bridge leading out). Drop the battle and tame in peace.
Lure this bad mamajama of a bird into a cage. It doesn't have to be fancy. A Dino gate(optional) some fence foundation and doorframes will do the job. Always aim for the head when shooting tranq arrows/darts. More damage = more torpor damage. Wait 4 seconds between shots with tranq arrows to get full effect per arrow. Very valuable tame on scorched earth!
Scorched earth tip . Firstly get a moth so you have a basic flying mount , the. Fly over to the moutains , as the mountains are high if you knock out on them it's easy to end up with nothing being able to get to you at all hence an easy hassle free tame . Only issue is the tend to want to fly off once your close to knocking them out and this can compromise were you want them to land , if your going for something sub level 20 hit it with 2 body shots this will not raise the torpor enough for it to want to fly off , finally hit the 3rd shot in the head this will cause it to turn around but generally it will fall pretty quickly afterward , if it lands on a slope just make sure you can 2 pillars and a few celings this way you can make a safe ledge to stand on while the tame is complete . I've done this several times and not lost one yet
Best way iv ev seen is if you do tame in the wild just have a ptero with you and follow it it's not that it never comes back he just DE argos usually I have a friend carry me with there ptero and just tranquil arrow or rifle it down its much more fun building a safe place and protecting it in the wild 5he it is bringing it to a house xD
You should always have a buddy with you to help knock out if the argy started to run away.
Setup a boat with two Dino gates on a 2 by 3 foundation area, wall it up, make it 4 or 3 high, put a door in, open a gate, bait in argy, exit via door, close gate. Google "carrier boat ark" to see the design. Makes taming much easier.
It is a good idea to agro the bird into a closed building to trap them. You will know the bird is about to go down when it starts flying away.
Shoot the army in the head and continue to walk backwards, this will force it to come into view for another tranc dart to the beak. After surround it with pillars to protect it while it tames.
I fr put my taming balm into a 290 argy and left it for like 5 MINUTES and boom it was was gone 0-0 IM AM SO DAM MAD I BEEN LOOKING FOR ONE FOR LIKE 2 HOURS
For solo taming the easiest method in my opinion is a trap. Build a four by two stone foundation then build a stone gate on one of the shorter sides. Next build stone doorways two stories high around the base. Add seven of the eight roofs and leave a spot opposite of the gate open. Next lead an argy into the trap with a fast flyer. Fly through the hole in the roof and shut the gate, make sure you have a spare roof to fill in the hole that you flew through so the argy doesn’t escape. Now you have an argy to KO and tame.
My advice is get narcotic and KO arrows and build a trap.
Giant Beavers at carriable by the Argentavis. I use mine to pic up Beavers and move them away from their dams all the time. Is is the quickest and fastest method of obtaining thousands of cementing paste without any bother from the beavers. UPVOTE so that others can see and use✌️
Whatever amount of tranq arrows Dododex says you need to shoot at its body is actually the amount you need to shoot at its head.
