Would be really helpful if there was a tab that showed what a tame can carry, not just what can carry it.

Can we talk about how the Argentavis are one the few flyers that don’t get a boost in speed after being tamed? For example every wild flyer is at 100% speed the normal speed, and if you knock out and tame a pteranodon then check their speed, it goes from 100% to 136% giving a 36% boost in speed just for being tamed. With the Argentavis even after being tamed it remains at 100% giving no boost😭 a fast Argentavis would be a completely game changer so that’s why they don’t give it a boost🥲 my current Argentavis is sitting at a 216% speed (that’s with a boost) and it’s faster than a wild Tapejara and that’s pretty fast. So if you’re gonna really invest into any Argentavis, it’s better if that argentavis is a fully imprinted one because with a full imprint it’s gives a 20% boost in health, weight, damage, and SPEED. That way you put less points into speed and add them mainly into weight because they’re great at transporting thing with the weight reduction. Anyways that’s all you mainly want to know about their speed.

The argentavis is a late to middle early-game flying workhorse, which many players see as essential to tame. It is slower than pteranodons and tapejaras, but faster than the quetzalocalus, making it the second slowest flying tame on the Island. It is generally untouchable from most land predators while in the air, but is very vunerable when perched on the ground. If attacked by land predators, DO NOT RETALIATE if said predator is larger than a raptor if your argentavis level is 1-25. Simply get off your mount if you are sure you can kill it, otherwise, wait unti your stamina is at ca 1/3 of the max, or about 300 and escape from it. I recommend perching on tall rocks or in isolated areas, and with a bit of stamina left. When flying, carrying three or even four parachutes will help to ensure your longevity, as geting your mount killed in pvp or simply accidentally hitting dismount can have very fatal results for you. The parachute is easy to make and will save you from a fall, a headache, or won't matter in the end, as those dudes in their tapejara followed you onto the ground.

ROLES

GATHERER TRANSPORT

The Argentavis suited for harvesting resources, as it can carry any parasaur-sized creatures or smaller in its talons, allowing you to transport your otherwise slow and bulky ankylo over the entire Island in twenty minuters or more. The Argentavis carries stone, metal, obsidian and more at reduced weight by itself, so having no good harvesting dinos makes little difference wheightwise.

HAULER

As the argentavis has relatively high base weight capacity for a flyer, making it effective at transporting base building materials, raw materials, dinos, and even pepole long distances at low risk for running into a level 500 alpha Rex. It is a bit more risky adding in a human factor, however, so if a server is populated enough, you might want an escort.

EMERGENCY HUNTER

In a pinch, an Argentavis serves well for hunting small medium creatures or sauropods. It can hunt raptors and parasaurs with ease, as it can pick them from the ground and kill them in the air. Sauropods are a bit trickier, but also a valuable source of easy prime meat for a sudden, rare tame like a tek Rex or quetzalocalus. The oly thing you have to do to take out sauropods is stay close to them, find a sweet spot where the cannot attack you and pray your stamina doesn't run out. They generally do very little damage, so this is easy. DO NOT attack titanosaurs (the ones with rocks on their backs) , as they will qiuckly reduce you to a boken mess.

TROLLING AID

Webever you are bored, you can fly up to a player, grab them off their mount, and drop them from a small distance. Then simply wrote "we do a little trolling" in the chat and leave before they unload their assault rifle into your face.

TAMING AID

The Argentavis can pick up and immobilize most small creatures, making them easier to tame, eg picking a wild raptor from an unwinnable fight, or a diplocalus from a swamp.

An easy trap method place 4 dino gates and have a gap between 2 that's just big enough so u can slip out put gates on the 2 outer gate frames open the gate u wish to lead the argy in once the argy is in the trap close the opened gate and quick and easy tame awaits ! Happy taming!😉✌

Argies are very good traveling Dino’s they can carry a good amounts of wait and they don’t get cold so you can fly them up a MT and it won’t die of cold.-DJ Fox7222

These things have amazing weight! If you level up their melee damage to over 1,550 I think around 400-500 dmg it could kill a wyvern. But play it safe and with a partner on another argentavis. But make sure to single out the wyvern.

YOU GOTTA GET ONE OF THESE GUYS get a crossbow or longneck rifle with tranq darts or arrows. Find one separated from a group and shoot it from there. They aren’t very fast so you should be able to outrun it when it gets too close. When it’s knocked out, start putting meat (preferably prime) until it’s tamed :3

How to tame an argy;

Step 1. Craft 4 Dino gateways and 2 doors.

Step 2. Place the gateways near enough to each other so that argy can't get out and you can. Then place the doorways on the end two gates. Leave one open and one closed.

Step 3. Aggro an argy and get it to follow you through the gate. Run out of the trap, and quickly shut the open door so that it can't escape.

Step 4. Knock out and tame the argy.

Voilà, your athey is tamed.

This is how I tamed mine, So you go up to the volcano and follow the little path till you get to the edge where the cliff is blocked by metal and crystal, the you hop on your pteranodon(you should bring one) and go find and Argentavis the shoot it to get it following you then lees it back to the cliffs and hit it with tranqs, but be warned, it might fall on the side of the cliff in a very dangerous position.

On ragnorok if you want to quickly ko an argy build a argy trap with gateways stone for unlimited use wood for cheaper and get 5 boomerangs and use them on it, argies cant survive boomerang to ko naturally so if it is low on health bring it a corpse, however sometimes it runs away and wont eat it so u might have to run away and come back but this method has helped me get argies countless times

If you don't want to spend a lot of time (especially newbies in mobile ARK) on building a trap and high cost of resources. I recommend the channel ' captain fatdog '. He has tips on building traps Argo, Gigi, Rex, Rinio and others.

Good news! I figured out if you are holding a critter like an otter in your argy’s beak then it’ll keep carrying it after you dismount! I don’t know if the otter will still respawn though…

They are built to be workhorse and mules don’t be afraid to use them for it, the super fast healing and 50% weight deduction on metal obsidian and crystals aren’t there for fun it’s very competent in combat and can be used to lob tones of resources from point a to point b essential for all mid to endgame players .(rating 9/10)
