Fun fact: They also spawn at the Southern Islets. Go to the intersection that's separating the swamp and you maybe see 2 or more of them in the intersecting island. Although its rare. Its always good to look at there when you started looking for one.

They can easily be knocked out with a decent Pachy if you dont wanna waste tranqs. I just knocked a 150 with my level 205 Pachy.

As of the July update it seems they no longer collect oil underwater with their tail swipe.

If you get too close, they may attack you. They are great at gathering metal and many keeps them for just that. At low level, they can only carry a few stacks of rocks. Herbivore Island (bottom South east) is a great place to find them.

They can also be found in the redwoods near the mountain.

4 tranq arrows + random ankylo + berries or crops = tamed ankylo

When your going after it just run and then you will have a perfect shot to the head

These are like the the BEST tames for a beginner!!! So easy to tame if you have tranq arrows and a berry garden!

I just tamed a level 100 with around 60 tranq arrows and a bow so look at the knock out guide

You can easily ko one by walking backwards slowly about 2 feet away from its face while slapping it with a club while it runs toward you. (Small tip): it’s very very slow and I think (without a rider) its the literal slowest turning creature in the Intire game(s).

If you think the mountains are too dangerous to tame just take him with your argy and put him wherever you want him

Crossbow with tranq arrow slightly unaccurate. Said 26 for a 145 took over 30.

Very easy to tranq, they’re slow. Make sure to tranq one that’s alone or move the others away because things can get difficult with multiple. Very useful for metal, and their eggs can be used for regular kibble.

Find a low livel use boomerang. And throw

There is armor on the body, so tranq at its head; you can do this with just a slingshot ( tamed an ankylo as my #1 priority in ARK)

Just get tranq arrows and run while shooting it it’s that easy I would recommend a bola though if it runs

But if you don’t have tranq arrows bola it and hit it with a club it will take a while but it’s worth it

This is an easy tame because ankylos are very slow so you can slingshot it and make sure to keep running!!

This took 27 traq arrows with a regular crossbow for me, taming a level 96.

Can be carried by new TLC argy, making it a quite easy and useful tame
