I recommend starving the anky first if it’s a high lvl( you can do that for low lvls too) up so noobs can see

So, you are among the many survivors that seek to tame the herbivorous dinosaur Ankylosaurus (I’m calling it anky). Because this would probably be a major turning point in your survival experience, you should probably prepare.

First off, the anky is found in the many mountainous terrain in the island. There, it coexists with many dangerous carnivores like the Trex, raptor, and allosaurus. The anky defends itself with its club tail, using it to deal a deadly blow. But, the anky can also be found in the peaceful HERBIVORE ISLAND, which is an islet at the Southeast Tip of the island. There, ankys are abundant and there are no carnivores.

To tame the anky, check the area around it and clear any unwanted animals. You don’t want a Rex to get a double dish! The anky is very slow. Just walk backwards and shoot it with TRANQUILIZING AMMO which can be unlocked at lvl 21 (tranq arrows).

The anky has many uses:

Carries tons of metal. Also harvests a lot with its tail.

Defends base.

Is a cool Dino!!!

Next tip on Rex

To the person who said to transfer metal to a argy with nothing but weight, dont. Anklos reduce the weight of metal so it would be easier to carry the anklo

On mobile they also spawn next to the green pillar

Who ever said they are slow DAMN 500 speed wild ANKY CHARGING ME

They collect so much metal but move so slow. 100x better with a argy.

Speaking of Argentavis how do you tame one?

You would mainly use these to harvest metal and stuff, however the wild ones are a great source of keratin if you need some in a pinch 😈

How to tame an anky:

First of all find and anky ofc

Then make sure theres no others in attacking distance(optional if u can kill them)

Now just walk backwards shooting tranq arrows at its head(their to slow to catch up)

Repeat until unconscious

Tame with berrys and narcotics if needed.

Go to herbivore island so that your tame is not disrupted

Be careful with there eggs cuz they are very sensitive to the heat. I suggest doing it in the arctic with torches. Took me so long to figure it out

I've seen 3 high level ones wack and yeeeted a 450 rex into the sea near tundra.It's a shame cause I was saving argy eggs for that guy.So in fruststation,I tamed all three of those ankys.

Baby Ankylosaurus stay unconscious from cryosickness for 25 minutes.

This can get tons of metal with this! it’s very slow though. You can find it in the snow biome if you are on the island

I just encountered an anky I thought to tame it because at that time I oonly had Dodos and dilophosaurus.so I decided to try to tame it but no suddenly an carno came and killed. Now I'm thinking to tame the carno.(This the first time writing)

It makes no sense that an anky cant damage stone...

How to tame an Ankylosaurus:

1. Ankylos are slow, so you can knock it out while walking, or build a small structure using stone to tame it more safely.

2. When you find an ankylo, start shooting it with a tranquilizing ammo, like tranq arrows or certain darts.

3. Keep shooting until it's knocked out. After it's knocked out, feed it berries, veggies, or a preferred kibble.
