As most know, the anky gathers flint, metal, obsidianand similar resources very well, BUT it comes with an added bonus. An anky can "gather" these items from a rock elemental corpse, so it can be used to gather tons of resources from them, as long as it has backup (I.e. Another tamed rock elemental) to help killing the wild ones. P.S. Ankys do NOT do "normal" damage to elementals, surprisingly.

If you gonna tame one of this fellas don’t go to mountains because you defenetly can’t kill a 250 giga or rex and they will eat the unconscious ankylo, you can go to herbivore island instead where the biggest threat is just a spino nearby or a megalodon but they are pretty easy to avoid unlike a giga or a rex which are constantly hunting, and the ankylo is uncommon in there so just search the island for one, press up if this was helpful :)

Best dino for farming flint and metal. Level melee rather than weight. You can use a whip to move it once its encumbered.

because thayre not fast having about 150 in movement speed means you can kite them easy, easy taming!

Interestingly, they are faster in water than on land. I've hit up metal nodes underwater with these guys, probably just under the same speed as a frog while swimming

Throw it in a 2x2 stone pin with 1 (2 for safe keeping) doorframes all around as walls and use a Argi to pick it up and put it in and use whatever tranq to knock it... If u have no Argi just launch tranqs at it and run away it is not fast so it won't catch up

Easy tame. Just walk backwards and shoot your desired ammo. It won’t catch up to you, just be carful of any debris that you are near, as if you walk into it, the ankylo might land a strike! Once you’ve knocked it out (no headshot multiplier) just feed it some mejoberries and keep a couple narcotics on hand just in case (I don’t normally need any) wait a minute and voila you have your very own metal producing Dino!

Nock it and wait until the food drop 3k down so you don’t ruined your taming effect ( ark mobile)

These guys are great mid-level tames. You knock them out like most other creatures and shove food up their face. They make great stone, metal, or flint harvesters but I though about this while taming one today. What If there was a setting that they would harvest any nearby mineral/rock, AND you could chose what they harvest. For example, you go to options, see a setting button that says “ Harvest setting “ and click on it. Once you open that up, you can choose what you want your tame to harvest. Metal, stone, flint etc. it goes around hitting rocks and ONLY collecting stone, like you wanted it to. Have a great day!

If you’ll want to tame one just have a sling with like 50 rocks, walk backwards shooting Irma head it works every time and make sure you have enough speed or else or clapped

The ankylosaurus is a tank of a creature and has damage reduction on all parts of the body. They have weight reduction on metal but not ingots and can gather a lot of metal, stone , and crystals

Try and knock out an ank with an eq if you have one just k.o a lvl 90 but make sure you have a bit of health on the eq first

700% melee and you can easily get 100 metal out of a normal node on 1x, its insanely strong! Took mine with an 88 armor saddle into bear cave and massacred the entire place with its bite attack. Theyre great:)

They prefer mejo berries from everything else.

On map fjordur you can find X-ankylosaurs on volcano island and they look way cooler than the normal ones.

Great metal heads and crystal harvesting but do not use them for oil! A metal pick is best. The resourse menu for oil is wrong with the Anky

It is really an easy but worth tame. Have a crossbow and some tranqs (have a lot of tranqs incase of emergency). Shoot it in the head not their back. Dnt stand still, look if there are it's part ners or not then walk back and shoot. Eventually they get knocked out. I would recommend a little narcotics and berries bcz they are cheap. Ta daa u tamed it.

The spikes on it's back stick out from under the saddle, but you can ride it. Unlike a kentrosaurus. Well...
