Ark: Redemption
Chapter 1
This was my third full-out sprint, just in case the Basilisks were still following me.
I collapsed against the brittle packed snow, dragging myself forward. It felt like the cold and the wind rend my muscles to shreds as I clawed myself foreward. It was almost funny; the snow and the cold seemed so harmless from the canyon, but it was so hostile and deadly.
Nope. It wasn’t funny, I’m hysterical.
For several minutes I laid in the snow, not fighting as it slowly carpeted me and pinned me to the ground as I waited to be recaptured. After I had regained my strength, I pulled my wings and tail out from under the ice and sighed in relief; they weren’t here.
When the tamed basilisks had ravaged the ravine, I had been certain that I would have been caught with the other unlucky juveniles, but they were too distracted with gathering the poor hatchlings and eggs out of unwatched nests. What you’d gain with those slobbery piles of scales and the eggs, I don’t know, but it couldn’t be good.
I couldn’t think for too long on this subject, though, I had to keep moving or I’d catch hypothermia.
I lifted from the snow bank and circled around in a spiraling air current to get my bearings. I could see the ravine, wyverns pooling above it like flies on droppings. I spotted movement to the left and I whirled my head, preparing a blast of fire, when I saw that it was another juvenile, a blood Crystal Wyvern, one that I didn’t know, also riding the updrafts. I started to glide over to them. “Hey! Who are-“ I started to say. Then the bolas came.
Six of them slammed into the blood juvenile, dragging them down, three more and multiple arrows tipped with narcotics hitting him as he slammed into the snow.
My heart jackhammered in my chest. The humans and their slaved mounts were still out there, and there was no chance of me getting back to the ravine without them spotting me.
I heard a shout from below, an alien rough language from one of the humans and grunts of excitement from their raptors and basilisks. They started moving towards me.
And I flew.
Chapter Two will be posted in Allosaurus

Before we start, to the newcomers who may not know, you can use the Dododex Stories website, filter to New, and refresh the page to see story tips / messages quicker.
TarrWasTaken, I cannot wait to see your Aberration POV story! There’s not many on this website, besides the one Tacrow just wrote. I’ll read it when it comes out.
Tacrow, I’m loving Ark: Redemption so far! I’m interested to learn more about what the story will be about. Haven’t seen the POV of a Rock Drake in a while (that’s what the MC is right?) Anyway I’ll be around for Chapter 2 when it comes out.
Jerrald, Chapter 5 and 6 of The Island was great! I’m loving the way Marcel is progressing so far. So far the story has taken a much more different pace and tone compared to the other survivor-style stories present on the DDEX. I think it’s a singleplayer ARK, since we haven’t encountered any other humans yet, and Marcel hasn’t really been attacked by any savage cavement, and since you said earlier it’s based off your experiences in ARK (most people don’t like playing PVP multiplayer). You could develop some interesting plots based off that, since most people crave human interaction so much. I’m assuming Marcel has some sort of past too, though we haven’t seen what yet. I also love the way Marcel questions the resemblance of the Obelisk with the Implants, and that probably foreshadows how he’ll eventually investigate the Obelisk (which won’t be very fun since that means going away from the beach). I’m curious to see what happened on Day 9, and I too hope you will finish this story one day!
The Island- chapter 1…
Marcel’s eyes shot open as he gasped for air. He was looking at a clear blue sky, with seabirds squawking in the distance. He sat up and realized he was on a beach…somewhere? He didn’t recognize where. Palm trees were swaying in a gentle breeze, and there were ferns and small bushes growing across the ground. Sticks and stones dot the shoreline. All of a sudden, he feels an itching sensation in his left wrist. He brings his hand up to his eye level and sees a small blue diamond shaped…thing in his wrist. He tries to scratch it out but it doesn’t come off. He looks closer and realizes the skin around this thing was slightly pink, almost as if it was irritated in a way. He didn’t know why, but apparently this diamond was stuck with him. He hard a soft chirping behind his back. He turns around sharply and is startled to see a plump, flightless bird watching him curiously. He thought he recognized it from somewhere. Racking his brain, he couldn’t think of what this bird could be. He stood up and looked around, and was astonished when he saw some large animal huffing and sniffing the ground. It had a large frill, and three horns on its head. And then he realized. A dinosaur. A triceratops. “What the hell…” Marcel muttered under his breath. How did he get here, and what was a dinosaur, a creature that was extinct for millions of years. How did it get here?? He turned around and saw the fat bird again, waddling around absentmindedly. He then realized it was a dodo bird. Now he was freaking out. He wakes up on a strange beach with a diamond gem embedded in his wrist and is surrounded by extinct creatures. He then realizes he’s totally naked except for some threadbare shorts. Then it dawns on him. If triceratops and dodo birds live in this place, who knows what other dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures live. Raptors, pterosaurs…Tyrannosaurs. If this was the case, he wouldn’t last long unless he learned to survive in this place. No longer was Marcel concerned with how he got here or how there are kind dead creatures living and breathing. He was just concerned with living to see the next day. And so, he began picking up anything he could find, hopefully to make tools with…
Hi, yall can call me jerrald jerrald and I’m finally following through with a fanfic I’ve been thinking about for a while! These are based on my personal experiences on the ARKs, I hope you all enjoy!

Thanks for the great feedback Ben! I’m glad the more experienced writers here in achatina are enjoying my story. I’m still on debating whether or not to base my story completely on my single player experience (with some differences obviously) or to do something else.
I think I am going to take a different route, blending the classic ARK experience with a real story but I’m not saying anything because I want it to be a surprise. But yeah, I’ve really been enjoying my writing experience and I’m glad you all are too!

PD, Chapter 1 of Leviathan’s Lullaby was great! I can’t wait to read more.
PrimalApex and Wyvernian, I am reading Chapter 24 of Ultimus and Chapter 18 of Tales of Pandora right now.
Jerrald, Chapter 4 of The Island was awesome! I’m glad that the first tame was a Compy instead of the cliche Dodo, and I’m glad it was a passive tame since I feel like it’d be more realistic for such small creatures to be passive instead of knockout. I’m enjoying it’s uniqueness so far and I can’t wait to read more!
Break-it, just read Chapter 24 and it was good stuff! I can’t wait for the Megapithecus fight, and how it’ll go since these pirates don’t seem to have tames. I’m glad to see Bruce is getting more self-aware about his unknown origins. Also I can’t wait for Bruce to learn that he still needs to fight the Dragon before he can even begin ascending off the Island… and to the next ARK. It’ll be a long ride ahead.

I liked Chapter 31 of JTAC! Not much else to say, I think Jerboa is a funny character. Poor guy woke up on one of the most difficult ARKs to survive on and you can’t even respawn, and his name literally is derived from a creature. I liked the super heat wave, and I’m curious to see how their caving expeditions go in future chapters.
hiya gang!!
Thanks for uhh reading leviathans lullaby guys! It’s generally just a work in progress at the moment especially due to the lore I have right now is different, the only reason I’m doing it in haze is because I easily get lost with going through more used creatures, and I just don’t like taking up other, potentially new, dododex writer’s places!
So it’ll stay in haze for atleast a few more chapters??
