For the record, if you don’t have an industrial grill 1 (I’m sorry) and 2 if you have a creature that increases the spoil time (a carnivore) you CAN do campfires, you just have to be on them constantly. It worked for me and I got 53 prime meat before the rest spoiled!

When you get an industrial grill, this is a great food source. Don't try mass production with campfires though
