Take your crystal wyvern to the volcano area on ragnarok and chomp all the mantis over there and you can get a full inventory of chitin in two seconds

Fjordur map has a great Chitin farm, take a high lv Megatherium to the redwood cave and go crazy, there are a few runes in there for extra xp too!

Well a mantis with hatches is a alternet sore for gathering chitn it can also be used to gather other stuff

Go to caves and boom crap top on chitin

In ark mobile, the best way to farm these is using a dire wolf and go clearing lower south cave (80.3° Lat, 53.5° Lon)

Lower south cave have lot of spider and they are low level so a high lv dire wolf should make a quick work

1 cave run will give about 4000-5000 chitin (maybe more using sabertooth)

You can then exist and come back to reset the cave to respawn those creature back quickly and repeat

The fun way to do this on mobile app is go into any dungeon that has the room "juggernaut arthropleura and araneo minions", go into a corner furthest from the arthropleura, and start swinging your sword like its nothing- you'll get 5k chitin in 5 minutes (also 300kg worth of meat) and you won't be constantly webbed because youre against a wall

Early-mid game: Tame a sabertooth and run around mountains killing scorpions

For those of you that are based on herbivore island, and don't want to fly or sail constantly to satisfy you chitin needs, just tame a frog and hunt the trilobites off the coast. They have no oxy drain and move fast enough to dodge all meg attacks, plus the get lotsa chitin. Just be sure to have lotsa oxy yourself, or an air tank. Happy sea bug hunting!

If you play on Val boosted or not in the section between the ice wyvern trench and the wyvern cave, follow the lava flows in and on the sides there are many Mantises,dung beetles, scorpions, spiders, and centipedes. Any wyvern will work for this but I find ice wyvern to be the best due to your immunity to the other wyverns there. Megatheriums also work really well but it’s a little more convenient to have a wyv.

Get about 300-500 chitin on each karkinos kill

In either Aberration or Aberration area(Emerald Forest) On val. Find and trap Karkinos for chitin.

on crystal isles there is these ant hills near a metal spawn and if you use a doedicurus to harvest the ant hills and get tons of chitin

Breed up good sabers, mutate and a good saddle. Solid, good at moving and to farm in chitin cave plus megatherium farming in redwoods cave means infinite cementing paste
