Just get a water creature go underwater with it and there will be oil rocks then you’ll get oil

If you live in the Arctic or don’t have a water Dino to kill basilos I recommend farming some of the oil nodes in the arctic there are a good amount of them and with an argy and anky you can easily farm lots of oil.

Killing tek creatures gives you oil.

3 ways to get oil fairly easily

Option 1:

1. Go caving

2. Tame dung beetle

3. Find feces/poop

4, put feces in dung beetle

5. Set beetle to wander

6. Wait

7. Collect oil and fertilizer

Option 2:

1. Tame rideable water creature (preferably dolphin)

2. Go down to da water (have at least some o2 w/ u)

3. Look for black trails of oil floating to the surface

4. Follow the trail to the source

5. Mine the source

Option 3:

1. Go down to da water

2. Find basilosaurus

3. Tame basilo

4. Wait 4 basilo to produce oil

5. Collect.

Bonus Option 4:

1. Go to artic (mainly the outskirts/the iceberg areas)

2. Find oil rock (big black rocks covered with snow)

3. Smack oil rock

4 get oil

For the people asking where the can comes from

If u didn’t already know plastic is made from oil. So when ur smelting it or whatever u get the can from the plastic stuff in the oil. Still haven’t figured out why it’s red tho… kinda sus….

On Ragnarok in te viking bay there are some oil rocks inside the water, watch out because of manta's and megs

You can get oil from dung beetles cause when you give them poop they produce oil in there iventory

Killing mosa will get you oil.

Whales make a lot of oil just make sure it has plenty of raw FISH meat

An easy way to get oil in the sea is to first see the oil at the top of the water and if you follow it you can find oily rocks

Just make a base at the beach, around 45 degrees from the Blue/White Obelisk. The beach has an island and a waterfall nearby. Metal outpost hence oil outpost! You'll get never ending oil rocks. Make a box, keep and anky and a protector dino for your oil runs. If you're like me, you'll end up shifting base to here in late game, plus the Blue/white Obelisk mountain has tons of metal and obsidian and very little carnivore spawns, as they are taken up by argies and dire wolfs which I personally find easier to deal with than others aggressive spawns period. P.S there are Rexes near the beaches not at the mountain though.

Oil can be a good resource mostly seen in the ocean and rocks can give oil or triolbites can give oil to amonites can give oil too.

A ton of oil veins In snow biome use iron pick or mining drill

just get a sea mount, find oil rocks in the ocean, big sharks and mantas may want to meat ride you, but it’s easy to escape from them with your mount.

On Ragnarok there are some oil veins up in the snow above viking Bay. You can put up to three oil wells there. Easily pull 50k oil if you let them run for a day or two.

Just get a dunkie on the island, then America knows your location from all the oil.

This can be found in one of the genesis 2 space biome rotations, and is farmed from rocks that look like a 3 year old has tried to paint them black
