ARK: Survival Evolved & Ascended Companion
I think the Half Life games may be a bit worse than WWZ. The zombies in Half Life have visible spines and torn open chests with organs visible. They also have a creature called a headcrab (they’re basically what create zombies by attaching themselves to peoples heads and turning them into zombies) attached to there head. The headcrabs can be removed, revealing that the top of the head has been chewed off and the brain is visible. Enemies can also be blown up into a graphic display of blood, bones and body parts. The aftermath leaves a few organs and limbs spread out across the floor. But it’s only bad if you play the remake, black Mesa, which is from 2012. The original is from 1998. Half Life 2 is less graphic, enemies can’t be blown up but the amount of blood is really high, like, there’s tons of it. The zombies look more grim, their chests are more open and all organs and the ribcage are visible, but the spine isn’t if you look behind. There are also special, faster .zombies which appear to have been skinned and had all organs removed. There’s also a poisonous zombie which also appears to have been skinned. It’s spine is visible as well. The Ravensholm level in Half Life 2 is incredibly violent. It’s set in an abandoned town where everybody has been slaughtered and turned into zombies. The moment you enter you see a tree with the lower half of a human hanging off it, with the upper half lying on the ground next to it. You can also find mutilated corpses scattered throughout the buildings, bodies which have been sliced in half are quite common as well. You can pick up circular saws and throw them at zombies, slicing them in half and splattering blood everywhere. There’s also one scene were you find an electric fence with a burnt and bloody corpse nailed to it, constantly shaking from being electrocuted, even though they are long dead, quite disturbing. Another scene shows a huge mound of dirt which is constantly burning with many corpses lying on it, with some impaled and spikes of wood. This bit is disturbing as well. Zombies can also be set on fire, they will continuously scream for help as they slowly burn and collapse, they will then continue burning even after death. There’s also a hospital scene were you find lots of bloody bodies lying on tables or on chairs, all of them covered in blood with their chests ripped open, quite unpleasant.
Overall, probably a bit worse than WWZ.
