I tried this recipe and kept getting the color Haze. Looked online and someone said to Disable Auto-Craft. On Console, hold triangle, disable auto craft. You should now see every color available to be made. Click on the color "spring" and it will show a list of greens, Forest Green being one of them. Just requires Verdberry, Cianberry and water.

So to apply the dye to yourself you have to use a paint brush. I don't think it works on xbox. To apply it on armor you have to select the dye and then select what you want to put it on. Look at the Ark wiki for more information.
