This is because it can grab your mount, shredding its hp with high dps while it can't attack back, and when it gets low on health it can blind you with ink which will decrease your stamina to 0, then quickly swim away while your screen is black. The tusoteuthis also spawns as rare as a shooting star in the ocean and the ones in the caverns of lost hope can spawn with levels of up to 300. If you do manage to kill one though, they do drop 8 at once.

Anyways, the best to get these is to farm with a high level spino or basilosaurus. Just letting everyone know that the alphas do not drop tentacles, they drop their eyes instead.

tame a good level Basilosaurus, level up a little bit of weight, get damage to 400% and then go for HP for the rest.

on ragnarok go to 47 - 2, deep down is tusoteuthis spawn location because of the artifact.

wear a scuba mask and increase your view distance.

keep calm, try to go there in day time, don't panic, a modified .ini or awesome spyglasses (a workshop mode) can be also usefull (you can't have them both).
