It can hit stone but only does 1 dam a hit but that’s only if it’s wild if it’s tamed it can’t

So stone traps still work

Not hard to tame them. U must come prepared. You do the hunting missions and get one bow that has around 300 dmg if im not wrong. Use that bow with tranqs you need wayyy less shots. Build a raft trap with stone door frames. Make a ramp and lure it into the trap. Dont waste narcos to keep ot down just look for some cnidarias, kill them and use bio toxin. :)

for the person who asked why this damages stone, it only does with its headbutt attack(which also induces torpor)

I just tamed a lvl 20 theri and it took 1hr and 200 narcotics. This thing was a pain in the bootycheeks to tame but well worth it. It gathers a crap tone of berries, rare flowers, rare mushrooms, and also a good amount of thatch/wood. I recommend having around 50-70 tranq darts if you want to knock out a high lvl theri.

If you want to kill one of these I would recommend a trike if your low level, and you may be questioning... how? Well just Mount your trike and attack when the theri gets close enough to not be able to land a strike but you can, but then you would need timing though, and with the knock back that trikes have you can kill one, and other creatures are optional, but just remember! Timing is key.

Idc what lvl you are if you see this with out a tame you are screwed. It will look at you for a second and ask you do you really want these hands… in .03 secs it chips you up. Fun fact if you are on a tame lower then the chicken of doom it will attack you too.

I only got a chance of taming this sort of early in game because managed to find a good spot on top of a tall rock where it can't reach, and shoot tranq arrows. Scared to tame a 2nd one. It killed me in like 2+ swipes as I still was new then. Now the same Theriz that killed me once is my best friend.

These guys are very tough to beat early and potentially mid game. If you have a Spino or another large carnivore mount, you can destroy them easily. They also can drop keratin so you can use that for cementing paste and other recipes.

I have 2 powerful raptors and it can kill it fast but my raptors have to heal up.

I just started Ark on my phone a month ago, and I found a bunch of therizinosaurs near my base and my tip if you just started STAY AWAY. it’s not worth it they’re too fast you can’t run away from them, even a level one therizinosaurs have over 1000 health, and the do not leave.

There are 5 kinds of Dodo birds:

Dodo

Terror bird

Argentavis

Therizinosaur

Its hard to kill because if you want to go on a rock it will come to no matter how much its height

Tips on this annoying thing.

1: It has terrible vision and mainly uses sense of hear, it won’t see you u less you are a couple raptors away in length. 2: I know lots of people are saying to outrun it… but it really hard it runs really hard so the best way to get away is to get one something high.

3: If you are looking to kill/tame it you need to build a big tower and rain fire down at it the best way to do this is to get high enough so it is out of range of you so it won’t attack your builds, if you do this right it should look up at you and you should be able to hit it in the head. 4: The things you need to kill it are just a crossbow/bow and around 100-250 arrows (this depends on how much you miss and the level.) Spears work too but not as good, then you just need good walk speed and a good tall structure. 5: These things can kill a player in a couple hits because I’m pretty sure it does percentage damage instead of just regular damage.

I know all of this stuff because me and my dad were playing trying to explore when one of these things attacked us, dad eventually killed it for revenge and it was awesome seeing it dead. But my point is that I wish dad would have tamed it instead but killing it was fine but a waste of arrows.

If you see this thing RUN it killed me in 2 hit

i just taming try taming it with a high level trike. and it works, because i can hit the therizino on his head, when the therizino attack my trike. and i tamibg two therizino at the same time. you just didn't have to unmount when you're on your trike

Always keep a trike with you because the trikes knockback will stop it from killing you helping to kill it

YO my first time seeing this thing I was like WOAH I never knew Wolverine was a dinosaur, then I saw me and I was like PLS SPARE ME and it was like ahha not today buddy I ran al FAST as I could but it still killed me so I was like IM GONNA TAME YOUR KIND ONE DAY and the a few weeks later it finally happens.

So you wanna tame this big chicken eh well young one you are gonna need 9 large bear traps,50 tranq arrows (just to be on the safe side take 80),a whole lotta berries and bio toxin cause this bois torpor rate drops fast

So first things first grab a pterandon and your large bear trap your bow with the tranq arrows and a sniper rifle with 10 bullets

Then find a theri once you find one find a open space where you can see it clearly so i doesnt sneak up on you and make your efforts useless

After those place your large bear traps on rows of 3 then go back to your desired theri with your pt and shoot it once with your sniper and bait it to your bear traps and just spam its head with the tranq arrows wait for it to fall and voila you just knocked out one of the most dangerous chickens you ever saw in your life

Then of course the usual taming with the berries and bio toxin

NOTE: DONT LEAVE IT FOR LONG CAUSE ITS TORPOR DROPS FAST AND IT MIGHT ESCAPE OR KILL YOU AND YOUR PTERANDON

This guy literally took hours to tame. I recommend getting TONS of bio toxin, normal narcotics aren’t effective enough, and TONS of berries and or vegetables and most importantly you’ll need TONS of patience

I would recommend to tame this guy with kibble because it takes 4 hours to tame a level 100 if you use berries
