To tame a Spino I placed down 3 large bear traps, it easily got stuck and by the time it got out it was torpor running. I easily knocked it out but I must warn you bring A LOT if narcotics mine was only level 4 and it took about 90 narcotics to keep asleep. Didn't take too much meat about 6 percent for every one piece of raw meat. If you are looking to find one on the island map on ARK Survival Evolved there were two spinos near in the southern uplands where there are quite a lot of raptors. Bring bear traps, a bunch of narcotics, and some raw meat if you are looking to tame a Spinosaurus. :)

You can find them in the Ragnarok map near the canyon area. Be careful when taking though for there can be nearly ten of them in the general area.

Remember don’t use raw meat. Also use tranq darts.

Place some large bear traps (~5 (depends on level)) and shoot is from a safe distance...stay close to the traps...if it‘s caught by one of them, move in position to the next trap so that it could be caught by the next one and keep shooting tranq darts or arrows...i think thats the best way for a solo tame

You need at least chitin gear so you can tank about 15 hits and if you distract it by leading to the water so it attacks fish while you can tranq it unfortunately you will need a lot of narcotics

P.S: if your on IPad you get an item that boosts taming by 10x use it for spino's

I solo tamed two at the same time...lucky for me the salmon run was going on and I was able to get slot of prim fish. It still took a ton of narcos it felt like all I was doing was feeding them narcos. On was lvl 75 the other was 55, not bad for a solo tame.

Divide melee percent by two to get damage. More or less.

Before you get to the point where you have wyverns, depending on your location spinos can be the best meat gathering tame. For my tribe, our Gigas are the best because we live near the swamp, but if you live somewhere with lower spawns, the spino can get you to the meat easily.

Great for collecting oil go into the swamp and kill leeches also chitin

Spinos can't break or get through stone dino gates. Best to use the same trap with the 4 gateways and large bear trap. Use stone gateways and a flying mount to lure it perfectly to the trap.

Please, PLEASE keep babies near warmpth at ALL TIMES. I had triplets that died cuz they weren't warm enough

You guys you guys, calm down, I didn't too do the sarco, I had problems with these guys sooo (taming montage incoming)

I shoot it with toxicant arrows, 100 to be exact, but I put it in bear traps first,

Then I used my argy to get raw Prime meat,and you already know, soothing balm, major soothing balm then I garded it,(someones spoil named bubbles died, rip bubbles)

Always get a abberant spino. Its a key in abberation playthroughs. Strong, durable, rad-immune, get a good one and it will get you some rock drakes

How to tame a spino:

To start taming, gather materials, minimum is:

Crossbow (80 Tranqs min)

3-4x stone Dino gates

~50 raw prime fish meat

To find a spino, go to the west zone 2 rivers or any swamp/lake

Find the spino you want, then either lure it to a cliff or simply use a Rex trap.

Tranq it out and feed it raw prime fish or simply just fish

And you now have a tamed spino, here are some of its useful features:

Terrestrial and aquatic; It can traverse land insanely quickly, and swim at the speed of a meg

Hydration buff; Gains an insane buff upon touching any body of water, giving higher speed, damage and health regen

All fours and upright; Can change stances, All fours has immense speed while upright deals ~1.5x damage

Piscivorous; Can eat fish and normal meat, can collect both as well
