I swear my luck in Ark is trash! I went on my Pt and knocked out a spino in the river near red obelisk. It drowned? I thought Spinos could breathe!!! And then i also drowned!

I remember when I was a noob to Ark, I had thought i could go in a cave at level 20 in my single player world. Next thing I saw on my screen was You Were Killed By A Lvl:20 Pulmonoscorpius. :(
I am deeply depressed, i am lvl 58 and knocked out a rex near herbivore island. I had 100 narcotics at island and flew there.
I came back to the rex and it had disappeared into thin stale air?
