Tips & Strategies

What are tips for spinosaurus? Tips and strategies for spinosaurus in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
Despite being big and burly, didn’t take much tranq darts to knock out one (especially an X-Spino)
Once I saw a high level spino wandering around and killing everything in sight and when I shot my bow it ran away and I was like what the hell? Killing them isn’t hard just tame a few Dilophosaurs and let them spit poison at the Spino before killing it with your pistols. If you don’t have pistols, get more and higher leveled Dilo and stand back and shoot it with a bow to assist.
If you start in the Southern Isles (south spawn region) and head west across the shoreline you’re bound to run into one that’ll be hanging out in a river connecting a swamp and the open ocean. Just be mindful of it’s location and try to stick near the trees while watching the shoreline.
To tame a spino you need about 4-5 tranq darts, you can tame a lvl 10 spino with 2 darts and an raptor, use the raptor to rush the spino and tranq it once, it will agro, so run away, then go back and dart it again and it is knocked. To find they are most active at beaches or any place with water, you can find 1 in a beach, 10 in those water fall type of valleys.
Umm so I got a spino from pure hard work and he was a low lvl which makes sense because I was about lvl 55 or something like that . So I was just killing stuff and found some piranha and I told my spino to kill them . There was about 4 of them and my spino had like 1500 hp left . I looked away for like 5 seconds and when turned around he was just taking a nap as I got closer to him I found out he just wanted to take an eternal nap and guess who had the medicine, the piranhas did
Yup that right four piranha which were 2-5 lvl killed a spino which had like 1500 hp left in the water
It’s been like 9 months or maybe even more and I still can’t find the answer ,no player could kill it because it was single player
Just spawned into a new world on the island and spent a solid 30 min making a thatch base. I walked down the beach and saw a spin-off pop out of the ocean right in front of me. Killed me in two hits. Was not expecting to see a spin-off in my first 30 of playing! Going to try and tame it tomorrow.
This beast is my preferred alternative to a rex and in all honesty the Spinosaurus seems to be generally better with the only bad stat being weight. This amazing dino excels both on land and in the water and get an increase to attack speed and movement which makes them even more deadly. They also seems to have a higher dps, along with two attacks that can only be used in certain stances, 4 legged stance offers a simple bite, while the 2 leg stance offers claw slaps (or something idk) which are executed faster and are much more powerful; they can also trample smaller creatures. Because of Spinos quick speed they are a pain to tame when they flee which makes a trap viable but not necessary.
10/10 from me, exceptional creature.
I killed a spino lvl 2 with a pike and two turtles. (RIP cassie and Cate carbonmeyes)
Dwarfing all but the largest creatures, Spinosaurus is the terror of the land and the water. A spinosaurus is the unrivaled all terrain animal, combing land power with naval abilities. Although it has less HP and damage than the Rex, Spinosaurus makes up for that with a higher attack rate and wider AoE. Pump HP, stamina, damage and a bit of speed for an unstoppable war machine.
When you tame a spino, ALWAYS BRING BIO TOXIN. You need a bunch of it, because here on do do dex, and in the game, spino torpor drops high. What I mean is, the spinos torpor goes down fast. So I recommend if spino torpor gets to the middle, feed it bio toxin until its almost full of torpor. When I tamed my spino, it was a close call. A very close call. 1. I ran out of tranq arrows.
2. No more Cnidarias were in the area, (OR SO I THOUGHT), so I thought hope was lost, when suddenly, boom, a group of cnidarias were in the water. I killed them all for bio toxin. At that time, when I got there, the Spino was only at 280.1 Torpordity, so I quickly started feeding it bio toxin. I tamed it with raw meat ONLY. Fish meat was scarce where the spino was, and Bio Toxin, was a need. Also, take a direwolf with you along with a flying mount. Put them on stop, and make sure the direwolf is far away. 1. Direwolves give a boost on the drops of the creature they kill. (On Back Only). So they can gather lots of meat, more than your metal tools.
3. Direwolves are a good source of protection, and very floofy.
If you are planning on taming another spino, please take lots more tranq arrows. Sorry if I have bad grammar. I posted this on my Phone. I play on mobile, so some of this stuff may not work. Check Do do dex for more info. It really helped me!
I tamed my first ever Spino. She/He, can kill other Spinos. Now when I have it out, I am not afraid of anything. It can even kill a Rex. I wanted to go easy mode, so I picked Casual, and Easy. My Spino is now lvl 40 something. Thats a lot. With great power comes great responsibility. Get yourself a Spino. If you plan on taming a high lvl, I recommend taking loads of raw meat,
And a bunch of Bio Toxin. I had a few close calls when trying to tame my Spino. I named it Rexy. Spinos have underwater buff, they are stronger when attacking with their front claws. Bites are slower and weaker. Spino also knocks back. Be careful! Spinos are strong. Get to a high cliff, then shoot it up with tranq arrows if you are a low lvl. Feed it with raw meat if its the only source. Feed it bio toxin if torpor is almost gone. -TinaZ, with Rexy.
I am currently taming a Female 150 Spino on a official Ragnarok server. The best way to find one of these rare Dino’s I’ve found is to litterally kill everything you see inside the canyon one will spawn eventually took about 10 min of killing and that includes fish
Be careful there fast dangerous and can kill you
These things ain’t as bad as they look. A decent level sarco can take one down with a few shots from a longneck first.
So, the Spinosaurus. Ya’ want to know how to tame one, correct? Well, here is a list of ways I’ve tamed them in the past.
1: Stonehenge & Large Bear Traps
Build 6 stone dinosaur gateways, and put one in the front, and then 2 long around the sides. Like a rectangle Stonehenge but have the very back has no gate. Fill the place up with large bear traps at the one dinosaur gateway. Lead the Spino inside and then go around the back and place the final Dinosaur Gateway. The Spino is now trapped within Stonehenge and can easily be tamed with an ascendant bow/crossbow, a decent crossbow, or a normal Longneck with tranq darts. Keep shooting and don’t stop until it’s unconscious. Feed it any prime meat or fish meat, and use 150+ narcotics or bio-toxins. Try bringing 100 narcotics for level 30, 150 for level 100 and 300 for level 200+. If you are on mobile, try using Soothing Balm if you don’t have enough food/narcotics. Hope this helps!
Oh shoot I’m at the character limit.
You do not need all the prep to tame a Spino. Simply use large bear traps. Also don’t waste time with narcotics. Bio toxins are much easier to get and work better.
If your on genesis you can find them at lat 59 lon 78.
Pro tip! Have a flyer or mount that you can fire weapons from if you dont want to use a trap. Please do not attempt to tame on foot unless you are stupid fast! They will run you down and if you do manage to survive than good luck chasing it.
This kind of only works on people who play ark mobile
1. Tame the dolphin thing, whatever they’re called
2. Make a ton of tanq arrows, bio toxin or narcotic works pretty good.
3. Ride your dolphin to a spoon, all creatures in ark mobile will ignore your dolphin and you, perfect for killing and taming large creatures
4. Find a Spino, I found mine near the swamp area where the big mammals are.
5. Knock out your spino
6. Tame it (biotoxin from jelly’s are highly recommended.) Good luck😀
