ARK: Survival Evolved & Ascended Companion
Tips & Strategies

What are tips for solwyn? Tips and strategies for solwyn in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
It wants you dead, and for some reason nobody has said anything about it, it's not friendly, you will get slimed.
Coordinates: 57:40 you should immediately find one running around. Also the only tame you should have out is your veilywn otherwise it will think you are a threat.
Need to first have a companion veilwyn, then find a solwyn out in the wild. Go up to the solwyn and look at the emote above it. Command your companion to perform the emote shown until you satisfied its curiosity. Then, interact with it to receive Pristine Vulpite.
Now, with your veilwyn you will need to travel and kill Dino’s until its adventure buff reaches 100%. Then, feed the vulpite to have the veilwyn evolve
Solywyn:
Feed a Veilwyn vulpite to gain this lighter fully grown version of the tame.
Provides protection from the cold, it can create bridges made out of ice for traversal and can climb sheer cliffs. Utilises an advanced healing factor to heal both itself and the rider and has an ability that allows it to empower its next strike using cryokineses with a surge of strength and speed.
If when going for vulpite it gets to 100% and gives you nothing reset the companion mode and try again fixed it for me on official
Build a 4 by 4 foundation trap with 2 walls up on each foundation build a ramp up to the trap agro it into the trap and do the corresponding emotes to get infinite build bunk or normal beds next to it and around the map after getting 1 teleport to a random bed on the map using a bed then teleport back using a bed the un companion Ur veilwing and back on if u do 100 percent and u get no vulpite un companion it and back on
Adventure... Revenants, Revenants, Revenants
Go to all the purple zones where Gloons are and kill the Revenants while you have your Veilwyn in Companion.
Can slide, self healing ability that last like 2 seconds, damage increase ability that gives it increased damage on the next hit, ice cone ability that does good damage, can climb up walls, and the final ability is an ice bridge that you can build mid air with and you can place an ice bridge on another and so on to have an infinite path but you can only have one ice bridge placed at a time.
Take a companion Veilwyn to a solwyn in the wild.
They spawn in enchanted forests, Avatar looking areas.
It will show curiosity above its head with a symbol, these correlate to interactions with your companion.
Play, call friends etc.
Copy these until 100% then claim a pulpit from the wild Solywn.
If you fail there is a 600 second cool down.
Good luck
i just learned this tonight -i started playing lost colony a couple days ago- and figured i’d share in case anyone else finds it helpful.
when you find a (high level) solwyn, put 4 foundations, then single door frames to make a trap for the solwyn.
if you have an argy you can pick up the solwyn and easily plop it in the trap, if not put 2 ramps on a side and agro it to get it in.-just be careful you don’t move too far from where you found it, i read that if you “remove a solwyn from its biome, it will give you primitive vulpite no matter what.” not sure if that’s true or not but i’d rather not risk it.
then you obviously want to lose agro, once you do you can play the mini game and try for your vulpite.
i found the easiest way to do all the emotes (quickly) was to have my default whistle set to call friends, put the whistle in one of the first few slots on my hotbar. when you need to pet your veilwyn or have it beg/play, just hold whatever slot the whistle is in and it will bring up the radial menu, from there go to emotes and match what the solwyn is showing.
like a lot of the other tips here suggest, un companion & re companion your veilwyn right before you start the mini game.
first time i tried for vulpite i didnt do that and i got to 90% curiosity, did the final (correct) emote but it didnt give me the vulpite. once i could do it again i did it on the same solwyn, but DID un-companion & re companion my veilwyn and that time i got a vulpite no problem.
i did this exact method with a lvl 90 -just to test if it worked or was a waste of time- and i got a journeyman vulpite, then i found a lvl 150 & once again did the same thing and got an ascendant vulpite.
the lvl 150 was sitting in the trap for a good 2 hours and nothing happened to it. even when i went afk (was afk for about 45 minutes) standing near the trap waiting for the timer to go down to try it with the lvl 150. a titanboa came over to where i was (right infront of the trap) killed me, started beating on my veilwyn (that was on passive, i didn’t want it to accidentally attack the solwyn).
i didn’t realize i got killed til a good 10 minutes went by, made my way back to the trapped solwyn and it was still there, didnt have a scratch on it. that titanboa was still attacking my veilwyn (it has a llloooottt of health) which is probably why the solwyn didn’t get attacked by the titanboa. but all in all that was my journey of getting primitive to journeyman to ascendant vulpite tonight.
i’m not sure if you’re able to edit these once you post them, but if i can i will edit once im on tomorrow and let you know if the solwyn is still trapped.
Okay, everyone knows to raise the curiosity meter Via mirroring what the solwyn wants. But I have not seen anyone say how to raise the adventure meter to 100%.
The first way takes a really long time, but you basically sit on the back of a tame and make it kill stuff. And by a long time I mean AGES. (I spent 3 hours today doing this method and ended with 0.0285% do) but on LC you tend to be very undergeared so this is a good method if you have no weapons or can’t kill stuff with good weapons.
The second method which is one I came across myself is you must be on foot, with a good weapon like a shotgun and maybe a grapple or two to get you out of trouble, maybe even a tame to lower the HP of whatever your fighting, and basically just murder stuff, it’s supposed to help the XP raise faster since it’s just you and the veilwyn, and I think the veilwyn can help but someone told me that you must get the kill for it to count towards the adventure Xp bar.
Happy evolving survivors!
Get Vulpite from a wild Solwyn by doing interactions with your Veilwyn then claim the Vulpite when the curiosity reaches 100%. Give your veilwyn the Vulpite it will gain an adventure status effect, kill everything until that reaches 100% then feed that Vulpite to your veilwyn now your have yourself a solwyn
Find wild solwyn and take out your veilwyn and do emotes it commands
