Ultimus Chapter 4: The Time Has Come
Andrew was alone in the house, his parents were outside doing something while he was working on one of his last exam projects for his engineering degree. It was a team project and he was partnered up with his best friend Ruth “Rue” Baker. But because he wasn’t able to be in the room where they were building the project, Andrew was using a VR Droid with speakers and microphones so he could communicate with Rue. Rue looked over at his droid and smiled.
“Gosh, I’m so jealous that you got a dog!! My parents wouldn’t let me get a dog. Let alone a pre-war breed. Those dogs are expensive.” Rue said, Andrew chuckled
“I know, I cried seeing it. I’ve only ever seen one in the movies before and I was so happy to have one of my own!” Andrew said, Rue smirked at the camera before she quickly looked back at their project.
“So have you named your dog yet? My offer still stands if you want.” She said while tightening some bolts.
“Thanks, Rue, but I don’t think your name really fits as a name for a boy dog.” Andrew said,
“Well, then what about my sister’s name Samantha? Just use Samuel, Sam, or Sammy instead.” Rue suggested,
“Rue, can you please stop trying to name my dog after someone in your family?” Andrew asked.
“I’m just trying to help you name your dog, if it so happens that most of my names are my family member’s names. It’s just some strange coincidence.” Rue said with a big smile on her face. She and Andrew both started laughing hard. Andrew could see tears running down Rue’s face from how hard she was laughing. Neither of them had laughed well in a long time. Earth was dying and neither of them at this time could do anything about it. That’s why they both wanted to become engineers, to help in any way they could with either of the main projects. Rue looked back at the droid that Andrew was using. Her laughter ended and she frowned looking at it.
“I miss you, Andy, it’s been two years since I’ve last seen you in person. And I hate that I taped your face to this thing. I thought it would help me not miss you, but instead it it makes me miss you more. You’re like a brother to me.” Rue said depressingly,
Andrew sat there with his headset on. He felt the same way. He thought of her as a sister, he hadn’t seen her since his family lived in Arat Prime. He missed it, he missed her horribly. He started to say something, but the bell rang. Classes were over for the day. Immediately Rue started getting her things ready to leave. She looked over at Andrew’s droid.
“So what are your plans with this degree? Are going to work with the URE when you get older? They need a lot of engineers.” Rue asked,
“I’m not sure what I am going to do with my degree Rue, I think I’ll probably go into the Terran Federation or a company that helps both causes. But I feel the URE’s plan to try to save Earth is a waste of time. The Earth’s dying, we can’t save it from what’s going to happen.” Andrew said, Rue smiled and sighed.
“Never say never, Andrew. There’s always a chance. And besides, if you choose URE. I’d see you more often.” Rue said smiling.
“So you’re going to work for the URE?” Andrew asked, Rue nodded smiling.
“As soon as I graduate.” Rue said,
“Huh, why?”
“I’d rather try to save the place I was born than live somewhere and know I could’ve tried.” Rue said. Andrew thought on this for a moment. He wondered if she was right.
“I’ll see you Monday Andrew!! Have a good weekend!” Rue said as she walked to the door.
“Have a good weekend Rue!! See you Monday!!” Andrew said he adjusted his droid to look at their project. It was a heavily modified exo mek.
“Andrew!!! Can you come out here for a moment!” Kim yelled from outside, Andrew opened up the window and took off his headset.
“Coming Mom, finishing up school.” Andrew said.
“Alright, bring your dog with you. Meet us in the back at the shed.” Kim said,
Andrew quickly shut off his droid and put his books and headset away in his closet. He quickly grabbed a jacket and a leash for his dog. He whistled for him and he came in excitement. He hooked him up and took him outside and both walked to the shed.
The shed was fairly large, about a third of the size of their house. Andrew never had been in the shed, he just didn’t have the urge for whatever was in there. Plus his parents had said to him to not go in unless he had permission. And to which he never asked to go in. He came to the door and opened it. When he did, he was in awe.
~
Andrew saw his Mom and Dad around something that looked like a Sleeping Pod. There were a lot of different things inside the shed. There were several large locker-like containers with his Mom’s and Dad’s names on them, but his Mom’s last name was different. There was also what seemed like a nickname in between the first and last names of both of his parents.
As he continued walking closer to his parents, he saw a tek generator. It seemed that it was powering everything inside the shed. He also saw a tek cabinet with clear doors that were holding antique weapons and ammunition. He saw so many things that were extremely useful to where they were at. He wondered why they kept all of this stuff in here and didn’t use it?
Hunter turned around and saw Andrew and his dog were investigating everything that was inside. He turned to look at Kim but started going over everything they were going to do. Was this the only way to protect Andrew? Could there be something they missed that wouldn’t separate them like this? Kim looked at Hunter.
“Hunter, this is the only way to make sure he’s safe.” She said quietly, almost reading exactly what he was thinking. He looked at her and nodded, nothing else would protect him as much as this would.
“Andrew, come here.” Hunter called,
Andrew walked up with his dog, his mom and dad were working on the sleeping pod. He wasn’t sure why though. He stood next to his dad for a moment, he was looking at a computer, some monitors, and medical equipment to read vitals. Andrew looked at one of the monitors and saw some medical records and a birth date. It was his own, he quickly looked for a name and found it. Andrew Lang, he looked over to his dad in confusion about it all.
“Dad, what’s going on?” Andrew asked, Hunter looked at him and then looked at Kim.
“Is the cryo-engine hooked up? Everything here looks ready for it to start running.” Hunter said, not hearing what Andrew asked.
“Andrew, can you come and take a look at this sweetie?” Kim asked, Andrew walked over still wondering what was going on, and looked at what his mom wanted.
“Can you see if I hooked everything up correctly?” Kim asked, Andrew quickly looked and saw everything seemed to be in place.
“It looks good. Mom, but what’s going on?”
“Okay, thank you, sweetie.” Kim said,
“Hunter, everything looks good!! Start it up.” Kim continued, doing the same thing as Hunter did.
Hunter pressed a few buttons on the computer and lights flashed on and a humming came from the machine. The sleeping pod came to life. Andrew was amazed as the doors to the sleeping pod opened up.
Kim looked over to Andrew, her eyes began to water for what she was about to do. She knelt and looked into his eyes at the same level. His Hazel eyes were so beautiful to her.
“Andrew, sweetie. Something bad is going to happen to us. But we don’t want you to go through this. So… you are going in here and you and your dog will... fall asleep. When you wake back up, the danger will be over and you will see us again.” Kim said, her voice cracking as she held back her emotions.
“But it is your choice, not ours if you want to do this.” Kim added, Andrew looked away from his mom and to his dog and sat there in silence for a moment before looking back to his mom.
“You promise?” Andrew asked, Kim smiled and nodded “Yes, yes I promise.” she said as tears ran down her cheeks. Andrew hugged her and he took a deep breath.
Andrew walked into the pod with his dog by his side. He motioned to the dog to lie down beside where he was standing and the dog complied. As the doors slowly closed to the pod. Andrew looked at his mom and dad’s faces as he stood in the chamber. Both were beginning to cry as the door shut with a sealing sound. Andrew put his hand on the door, and his parents did too.
“I love you three thousand!!” Andrew said, a phrase he only used to get a chuckle from his parents. They both laughed for a moment and smiled.
“We love you too son!” They both said in unison. Which in turn got him to laugh.
“See you soon.” Andrew said, he put his hand back down to his side. Andrew watched as his dad walked out of view and he heard several beeps and a sound similar to a leak, though he knew it wasn’t so. He heard his dog yawn and lay its head down. And he closed his eyes and fell asleep…
~
Kim watched her son go into cryostasis and let all her emotions loose. Falling to the ground with hands on the pod, weeping and wailing.
Hunter watched as his wife showed all of her frustration, pain, and sorrow that she had been holding up inside her since she got the email a week ago. She had been strong through all of that as he went through the pain and sorrow he was dealing with. She seemed to have just as much if not more for their son. And as much as he wanted to do what she was doing, he had to do what she did for him through all this.
He walked over to her and helped her up. Shaking in his arms and still sobbing.
“It's gonna be okay, he’s gonna be okay.” Hunter said as he stroked her head. She pulled away slightly and slowly lifted her head to him.
“Will we see him again awake? I mean will WE see him? Will it be us or someone else with our memories, experiences and who looks like us? Did I lie to our son about seeing him again?” Kim asked with a weak, sobbing voice. Hunter looked at her and smiled,
“Calm down, it’s okay. We’ll see him again. And you will keep your promise to Andrew.” Hunter said,
“But how do you know?” Kim said.
“I don’t know the answer to your questions honey. I just know that we will see him again awake and sound. And we will all be united again.” Hunter said. Kim embarrassed him with a tight hug. He started again to stroke her head.
Hunter and Kim closed the door to the shed and began to shut everything off and get what they needed for when they were at Arat Prime.
He shut off everything before he shut off the generator to the house. He thought about everything that happened to him since the war. After the war, he got the position at the Terran Federation as head programmer, he was so ecstatic back then. He never lost that enthusiasm for his job, even when he became a husband and later a father. He still loved his job and had enough time to be a good father and husband. He loved being a dad and husband and loved being a boss to the programmers under him. But both slowly needed more and more time. Both fighting for his attention.
When he found out about The URE’s and Terran Federation’s plan to archive the entire world’s history of human beings. He didn’t trust them to do it to his son, he didn’t care about himself and Kim said she felt the same way about herself. But they both agreed they wouldn’t let it happen to their son. After all people like Santiago were cloned and weren’t being told that they were. Santiago still thought he survived all this time when he-. He was so grateful when Kim was ordered to collect samples of wildlife and study how many were left. But it became more stressful for him to be a father and be the chief programmer. He loved his work so much, but he loved his family so much more.
Hunter walked away from the house with the few hard drives he needed and saw Kim in the ATV waiting for him with her box of things.
“How much Element did you put in the generator in the shed?” Kim asked,
“Every single piece in the house and shed, it’s not going to shut off for eons. I made sure of that.” Hunter said.
He smiled, he knew he would see his son again and that his son was safe until he did. It was a relief that he was finally safe and protected. The only way into the shed was the one door and it was locked from the inside with a DNA scanner, retinal scanner, and voice access keys to enter. No one was getting in there unless it was them. He entered the ATV and looked at Kim. She looked worried, he put his hand on her shoulder and kissed her on the cheek.
“He’s gonna be okay.” He said reassuring her,
She nodded and smiled, a few more tears rolled down her cheek. He hugged her to comfort her and she smiled softly.
“I know, we’ll see him again. I just have a bad feeling that it’ll be a lot longer than we expected.” She said. Hunter didn’t say anything, because he had the same thought in his head. She put her hand on his shoulder and looked at him.
“We still got each other until then.” She said smiling, he smiled and nodded. He took a moment and looked at her.
“Absolutely, and nothing is going to take me away from you.” He said, she smiled and laughed. Hunter was grateful he still had his wife and they had one another until it was time to wake up Andrew. Both were relieved with what they did and if he was safe. Hunter started the engine of the ATV and they drove off.
Journey: Chapter 32
The Island’s swamp near the redwoods was quiet tonight, something that normally isn’t with all the dangers within it. Nectar flew over the swamp, high above the canopy surveying the area below. She was far out of her normal territory since she flew those two strange creatures up to the volcano, but she wanted to take things slow getting back.
She kept thinking on those two critters she saved. She didn’t quite understand or really listen to what all the one was saying or what was going on with those two, except there was something about the annoying one’s own kind. He was what, a troodon? Strange creatures, they usually kept to their own kind unless tamed. And even then they were quiet assassins. Nothing ever trusted those things because of that. It made the tamed were uneasy with them around and the venomous reptiles ran from wilds if they got too close to them. They just were too uptight and tight lipped of their lives. Which made it weird for one to be so, talkative and hanging out with the other one. She had never seen a wild one of them. Her owners had a couple of them. So it was even more weird with that one around.
Nectar flew for a while longer until she reached a plateau centered in the swamp where she decided to rest for the night. Close to the south side of the redwoods. Landing on the side of the large plateau with a loud, rhythmic hum of her wings. As she sat there looking at the night sky. She wondered why they wanted to go there. The place where her owner disappeared. It was where the humans went to either disappear or go in, and magically wind up back outside to only leave the volcano. But as she sat there, her mind began to wander on the first thing she saw when she was born. Her owner, she missed her, she was very kind to her and seemed to care for her a lot. But when she went to the volcano and into that cave. She never returned. Leaving her to starve for days. But Nectar waited, and waited. Until she couldn’t wait any longer. She was dying of hunger and thirst, and she needed to sustain herself. Souse tore off her saddle and killed a para in the field below. She flew for a while then before finding herself in that part of the swamp by the Green Obelisk swamp. And that’s where she had been ever since, at least until two days ago. Coming across those two brought back memories of her time as a tame.
As time passed as she sat there, she began to feel she wasn’t alone. First thinking it was some of the local wildlife, maybe an Achatina, maybe some Meganura or Titanomyrma. But as she began to look around for what was around her. She saw nothing, nothing but darkness. She then felt numerous vines or strands rope drop and land on top of her and several loud thuds on the ground around her. She looked around again, seeing nothing around her unusual around her but this time saw glowing eyes in the distant darkness. Immediately dozens of Troodons came out of the shadows and grabbed the ends of the rope and running back into the shadows. She began to feel the ropes tighten and saw more troodons coming out of the shadows and grabbing onto the ropes. Trying to pin her to the ground. Nectar was in shock at this, didn’t they know what she was? Nectar let out a loud roar that made the Troodons pulling on the ropes began to run away screaming, but more ran out of the shadows in place of the others. She tried to cut the ropes with her claws, but several more ropes came from above and wrapped around her claws.
“Capture the fugitive!!” They shouted.
‘Fugitive? How am I a fugitive? I really should’ve listened to that one.” She thought to herself, she needed to exit this, not fight or scare away by how their tactics were, one surprising thing was they didn’t tangle her wings in the rope. She quickly flew straight up in the air, she watched the Troodons jump back from the ropes. But the ropes remained tight, she watched as she continued to rise the Troodons jump on the ropes causing them to yanks she felt a weight on her other side of her she looked to see boulders start swinging around her and with each swing they got closer and closer until one smashed into her face, she crashed to the ground with a thunderous crash, she stared into the glowing eyes as they began to surround her, then she blacked out.
~
Nectar woke up completely tied down to the ground, even her tail. She felt pain of the side of her head where the boulder hit her in the head. But worse she felt pain in her wings. They had put her wings underneath two separate things from what she could feel. But she couldn’t see what they were. Troodons eyes’ glowed all around her from what she could tell. Whispers and noises came from all around her. Then she saw one Troodon in particular came walking straight to her face. It was gray feathered, old, and somewhat frail looking. But walked with determination, pride, and power in each step it took. Her glowing eyes stared at Nectar’s. And seemed to disapprove of her.
“Where are they?” she said, Nectar stared at her with no expression.
“Who? I’m sorry, I don’t tell strangers-” “My name is Mira, and I’m he leader of of my group here. And I want to know where you hid the fugitives?”
“Fugitives? I ju-” “The young Rock Drake and miniature Troodon are fugitives to us. We need to know where they are because they are a danger to this place.” Mira said,
“I don’t know, I didn’t hide them. I got them out of your hands and dropped them off in the swamp.” Nectar said, Mira shook her head.
“Look Nectar, we know that is a lie so spare yourself the pain. Tell us where you hid the fugitives, now.” Mira said, Nectar was confused.
“How do you know-” “That is none of your concern how we know Nectar. What matters is telling us where the fugitives are. Telling us will gain your freedom and we will never bother you again, doing otherwise will cost you your life. Are we clear on this? If so, tell us where they are.” Mira said as she got closer to Nectar’s face, expressing her irritation as she said this. Nectar sighed.
“I didn’t hide them, they asked me to take them somewhere.” Nectar said,
“Where then?” Mira said,
“The Volcano. They wanted me to take them to the top of the volcano.” Nectar said, Mira looked at her with a perplexed expression, before her eyes widened with realization.
“They escaped.” She said, she turned away to one of the other troodons. “We need to call an emergency meeting.” She said to him,
“I will call an meeting with the other districts.” He said,
“Not with the districts, with the other Orders. We have fugitives that have escaped the Ark.” Mira replied, he looked at her with shock.
“We haven’t called one in over a century. Is that even possible they escaped?”
“One of them was the leader of The Five. If wasn’t possible, he wouldn’t have been here. Call the meeting.”
“Yes Madam District Leader, but what do we do with her.” He said pointing to Nectar. Mira looked at at her with an expressionless look. She walked over to her and lowered her head in what seemed like disappointment.
“We had agreed that you would be released for sharing that information, and I wanted to. But we can no longer afford that now. I am sorry for what we have to do, but it is for the greater good of this Ark that no one knows what you or the fugitives know. Your death should be swift and painless” Mira said, Nectar closed her eyes hearing this.
“Madam District Leader, your command?” The one Troodon said, she stayed silent for a moment before sighing.
“Execute her.” she said, she look back at Nectar as they strapped rope. Around Nectar’s head and neck.
“I assume you can feel the large boulder on you wing closest to the edge of the plateau. In order for you to have a swift death. We will be serving your head from your body by us pushing the boulder off of your wing and off the cliff. Due to insects weak external joints, your head should pop off without you ever feeling it. Do you have any last words?” Mira said, Nectar looked at the feathered dinosaur. She wished she could use her tail.
“I hope you die a painful death, and I hope those kids get away.” She said, Mira looked at her and shook her head with distaste.
“My dear, they will not get away from the Order. I can promise you that.” She said, she nodded to one of the Troodons and Nectar began to feel tension of her neck. She tried to let out a roar quickly, but it was too late. She felt a yank and then darkness.
~
Mira stood at the platform for the Green Obelisk waiting as several troodons messed around with the terminal and platform as the tried to make contact with the other Arks in the cover of darkness. Several hours had pasted since they had to execute the Rhynio. This mess was getting out of hand with her son. She should’ve sent a large number of men that day instead of only two. Now they had a Rock Drake who was considered by the Order one of the most dangerous creatures out there for them. But they had no reason to go after him if he wasn’t dabbling into the Rune’s, o the Ark’s power. But if he wasn’t, he and his friends were all considered fugitives of the Order and had to be terminated. If they weren’t contained, chaos would plant it’s feet into the Ark and could cause countless cataclysmic events. And with the knowledge her son knew of the Arks. They had the means and the power to do so.
Mira was snapped out of her thoughts when she heard others conversing. She looked at the terminal and saw it glow with power and started to hear audible voices coming from the terminal.
“This is Ark 865, codename Crystal Isles. Reporting in for this meeting” a voice said,
“This Ark 488, codename Scorched Earth reporting in.” Another voice said,
“This is Ark 322, codename The Center reporting in.” Another said, one after the other did more Arks report in for the meeting. Mira sighed as everyone quieted done to let her announce herself.
“This is Ark 43, codename The Island, we have called this meeting for a Multi-Ark threat that originated from this Ark.”
In the eerie depths of the ancient ocean, where the shadows clung to the secrets of bygone eras, there existed a malevolent force known as Shastasaurus. Its colossal form, a relic of prehistoric terror, lurked in the abyssal chasms, haunting the maritime realm with a sinister presence.
Legend spoke of Shastasaurus as a monstrous leviathan, its elongated body twisting through the murky waters like a specter of doom. Tales passed down through generations whispered of its eyes, glowing like malevolent orbs in the stygian darkness, a manifestation of primal fear that sent shivers through the bravest souls.
This aquatic behemoth, with serrated teeth that gleamed like obsidian daggers, would emerge from the abyssal depths when the moon hung low in the indigo sky. Its haunting call, a mournful resonance that echoed through the oceanic expanse, sent ripples of dread across the waves.
Ships that dared venture into its domain would vanish without a trace, leaving behind only a palpable aura of terror. Sailors spoke of witnessing immense shadows beneath the surface, dark silhouettes that hinted at the unfathomable size of Shastasaurus. The fortunate few who glimpsed its form would be forever haunted by the monstrous visage etched into their nightmares.
As the eons passed, Shastasaurus became a mythical harbinger of doom, its legend transcending time and permeating the collective subconscious of seafaring civilizations. Sailors dreaded the mere mention of its name, for it symbolized an otherworldly force that defied explanation.
Rumors circulated of ancient tomes, cryptic texts hidden in submerged caverns, detailing the malevolent pact struck between Shastasaurus and the abyss itself. Some claimed that the creature was an ancient guardian, while others whispered of it being a vengeful deity punishing those who dared encroach upon its aquatic domain.
Regardless of the origin, the terror of Shastasaurus persisted, a primordial force that slumbered in the deepest recesses of the ocean, waiting for the opportune moment to unleash its abyssal wrath upon any who dared challenge the boundaries between the known and the unfathomable. And so, the legend of Shastasaurus continued to cast a shadow over the maritime realms, a tale of horror that endured through the ages.

Chapter eleven: Barely alive.
“KANNON!! DO SOMETHING!!” Cedric bellowed. Kannon blinked, looking dazed. The pteranodon was bringing its beak down on Elayne’s neck…
Oliver suddenly rose up and threw a large stone at the pteranodon’s head. It let out a squawk and fell sideways, unconscious. The other pteranodons slowly began to flee, as their leader was taken down.
Oliver rushed to Elayne’s side, she lay there moaning. He pushed the pteranodon grimly aside.
“I took some medical studies. Where does it hurt?” Oliver asked. “My arm.” Elayne gasped, her face deathly white. Rowan and Cedric hurried over. Rowan helped prop Elayne’s arm up. A deep red gash ran across it. Elayne flinched in pain, as Oliver gently pressed it. “Bring me some…uh thick moss, slightly soaked with water and some dry moss. We can’t let the wound get infected.” Oliver instructed, his eyebrows knit with worry and focus. Cedric ran to some trees by the river, yanked moss off them, soaked some of it, and then hurried back over to them. “Do y’all happen to have a needle on y’all? Anyone?” Oliver asked. Cedric shook his head. “Why would we have a needle in this place?” Rowan snapped.
Oliver bit his lip. Kannon fumbled with his jacket and pulled out a hair pin with a tiny rose design imprinted on it, he handed it to Oliver. Oliver nodded his thanks and began stitching the moss tightly around her arm. Elayne clenched her eyes shut and gritted her teeth in pain. Cedric stood over her, holding her down just in case she bolted up in pain.
Finally Oliver was done stitching the semi wet moss tightly around her arm. He held the slightly bloody hair pin out to Kannon. Kannon shook his head. ‘Keep it. Is she…okay.’ Kannon signed slowly, Oliver translated. Rowan helped the pale, shaky Elayne to her feet. Cedric leapt forward, glaring at Kannon. “Is she okay? IS SHE OKAY?! She almost died, you fool!!! While you were standing there playing around!!!!!” Cedric bellowed. ‘I’m sorry.’ Kannon signed. “I’M SORRY?! Im sorry doesn’t cut it!!!!! She could have died!!!” Cedric’s heart thumped loudly and all he could hear was it. His stomach twisted with revulsion. “Cedric calm down.” Oliver pleaded. “It was a accident.”
“What if she had died?!?! Would ‘I’m sorry’ cut it then?!?!” Cedric stepped forward, his fists clenched toward Kannon. Rowan and Oliver grabbed his arms, trying to keep him from pummeling Kannon. “Stop it! Oh stop it, you fool!” Rowan snapped. She and Oliver could barely keep him down, he was ten times as muscular and stronger then them. Cedric struggled hard against them, hurling insults at Kannon. “I swear, I’m gonna throw you in the lake if you don’t STOP MOVING!” Rowan growled. Together she and Oliver barely dragged him to the lake and managed to dump him in it. As soon as he was engulfed in water, his medallion took on a dull glow and Cedric stopped struggling.
He sank to his knees in the water, breathing hard. His hands clutched the water around him. “Uhh Cedric?” Oliver asked timidly. Cedric raised his hands toward the sky, and suddenly a ginamourus wave, that was obviously not supposed to be in a lake, rose up and splashed down upon them. Rowan spat water out of her mouth. “Hey!” She and Oliver were now drenched. Cedric grinned, then disappeared below the surface of the pond, shooting off further in. “What was that?” Rowan sputtered. Oliver shrugged.
“Sometimes he gets moody when he doesn’t have water.” Oliver said, waving his glasses around, trying to dry them off. “Drat! Wet again…” Elayne stumbled up and sat along the edge of the pond, looking grateful to rest her feet. Kannon didn’t move. “I think we’ll make camp here for the night.” Rowan said, smoothing her hair down. They began to set up camp. Cedric eventually, came out of the lake, dripping wet, and helped build a campfire. Rowan laid leaves out for their “beds”. Elayne rested and Kannon and Oliver gathered firewood. Cedric for the most part ignored Kannon, still slightly angry at him.
“Maybe he’s not so selfish. He wanted to defend Elayne.”
Rowan thought to herself as she watched Cedric talking to Oliver later by the campfire. She studied him closely, with narrowed eyes. What had that wave been about? Maybe that was his medallion power? Hmm… something she need to figure out Kannon was lying down on his makeshift bed, his chest rising and falling with sleep. Or so Rowan thought….

She put her and on his shoulder and looked at him.
“We still got each other until then.” She said smiling, he smiled and nodded. He took a moment and looked at her.
“Absolutely, and nothing is going take me away from you.” He said, she smiled and laughed. Hunter was grateful he still had his wife and they had one another until it was time to wake up Andrew. Both relieved with what they did and if he was safe. Hunter started the engine of the ATV and they drove off.
Author’s note: Sorry that this story has been so heart wrenching and depressing. When I started writing this, I really didn’t think it would turn out like this. But a lot of it is kinda necessary to tell the story. And it will probably continue as well. I hope you all are enjoying it!!

From Ben:
Okay Break-it, basically Draft Model is like a fill in the blank story.
It’s like this:
I provide a story prompt, like uhh this: Bob is getting chased by a T-Rex. He only has a few items, a hatchet, and some rope. He looks back, and the T-Rex is getting closer. There’s not much time, so he decides he needs to do something about it.
Then afterwards someone else writes the rest of the story. Like let’s say Billy writes the rest of the story like: He takes his hatchet, super-jumps onto the tree, and then lands onto the Rex’s head but snaps his legs and dies.
Obviously the story is going to be a little longer than that, but that’s a rough example of how it works.
