I tested the whistling tactic on my tapejara and the goddamn thing killed the poor pterodactyl I whistled it to attack in ONE CHOMP, this game makes no sense. well, at least I confirmed that this tactic in fact works, now all I need to do is find a quetzal
Open the Dododex app on iOS or Android, select a creature, and go to Tips > Submit Tip.
I tried to tame it by sitting on the back of my tapejara and tranq it but too bad that i put all of my level up points on to movement speed on my tapejara and he killed 3 quetzals by chasing it in circles until i managed to tame a high level one because he got knocked out just before my tapejara was about to kill him...(i was bad with the whistle controlπππ)...
One day I was playing Ark with my friend and a message popped up in the chat which said something like βwho wants a free Dragon go to the volcanoβ. Since me and my friend were curious we went there and the person that was living up there gave us a free 444 Quetzil (it was my first time owning one)
I have seen one before on my argie and hit it.

I had myself a quetzal lvl, 30? (Can't remember the lvl since I use the quetzal rarely) and I still don't have it's saddle (I'm lvl 71) and an hunt argy pursuit popped up on the top left corner of my screen, so I decided to check dododex what I would be rewarded if I completed the pursuit and I randomly pressed story and saw how unfortunate people's future quetzal flew into the redwoods and got killed while they're trying to tame it, I sighed in relief since I got lucky taming one (mine only flew into the beach near the swamp).
1 up = 1 prayers for the killed quetzals. (Quetzals are my fav dinos to tame)

pro:you just get a quetz
a real convo me and my friends had with the alpha of server 580 when the game was in beta
we still mimic that convo to this day "to get a quetz you need a quetz"
I Was on a Tapejara and somehow knocked one when I was on lvl57 and that fool quetzal fell and landed in front of a group of allosaurs. That was the first and last quetzal I found in my gameπ.... Now search continues but no luck..... #RIPMe
I had an amazing quetz with A plat saddle, a generator, and two turrets with 250+ bullets in each. I was flying near herbivore island and accidentally flew to close to the water and dismounted. I fell off and it flew away towards the mainland. I still search for him to this day, hoping to find him.
There was a guy who ran a free quetzal airplane service and he was nice and would take you anywhere you wanted but a few months ago I joined and the server was in chaos and mourning because some moron brought A CRAP TON OF C4 ON THE DAMN QUETZAL blowing it all up before anyone could stop him killing himself everyone on board and the quetzal (the captain only leveled speed and weight I think so it had low hp despite being high level) That was a sad day so we caught the terrorist and the captain executed him. We are still looking for a new quetzal to replace his and whoever gives him the quetzal gets his level 172 rex. I miss the air service it was very convenient and fun.
So today I decided to go out with my friends to tame a quetzal we koed it and we went down to where it landed then there was a Rex chewing a bronto like it was a snack it bit the quetzal but we hoped it didn't but it did now that quetzal has 50% taming effectiveness thanks rex.
So i knock down a quetzal that was lvl 270 and female, and it drop on a river and u know its about to die, so i give up and go with sadness, but turns out on my way back home i found lvl max 300 but male, i try to tame it and when its almost unconsious i ran out of tranq dartsπ
