ARK: Survival Evolved & Ascended Companion
Tips & Strategies

On single player, hard difficulty, level 130, it took me 6 treasure maps. All different rarities, yet all gave 19,9% per cache
More Parrot Taming & KO Tips
Use the Salute emote to get it to mount your shoulder.
If you plan on taming one save yourself the trouble and farm up a bunch of treasure bottles/maps up beforehand. You can find the treasure bottles on some islands and from dropped cargo from pirate ships. Maps are randomly dropped when you kill dinos. You will use any emote to initiate the taming process, then you can hunt down the treasure chests until itβs tamed (I know thereβs a few other ways to do this but I find this the most reliable way). Then you will have a pirates best companion.
Special Abilities
Can locate treasure or alpha creatures easily by usong the radial menu
How to tame Parrot
1. Locate a parrot. They will be wandering around flying above the islands in the ocean biomes ln Genesis.
2. Emote when you find one and it will land on your shoulder.
3.Kill Alpha creatures, Find treasure maps, or use the bottles on the beach this will make the taming progress bar go up.
4. Enjoy your parrot!!!
You cant use HLNA teleport during the taming. You gotta sail the sea like a true pirate
Emote near a parrot it latches onto your shoulder, after this kill Alphas, open loot drops or use a message in a bottle to get treasure chests to gain taming effectiveness
Plan ahead for max lvls or any very high wild lvls. With ascendant treasure maps. Alphas are ideal but unreliable so l found having at least 3 Ascendant maps does the trick. Just have a fast mode of transport.
2x rates, primitive bottle of treasure gave me 30% taming effectiveness, not sure if different tiers give more taming percent. But it took me 4 primitive bottles of treasure.
Emotes are said to work - try waving at it to attract it to your shoulder. Then defeat an NPC base, find treasure, or defeat an Alpha creature. Apparently you need to be a good pirate. Unsure on the amount and finer points still.
