Spawns in the water and on land in the ocean biome. You can shoot it with tranqs or passive tame it while it’s trying to blend in with the environment thinking it’s invisible, walk up to it while it’s laying down and let it grab you and wait for it to lift up and show you it’s beck was it stops biting and the screen shakes feed it narcotics or bio toxin until it’s knocked out. I believe it’s superior or exceptional kibble. It will lose effectiveness if you use the wrong kibble.

They actually prefer prime fish meat over exceptional kibble, and they don’t eat black pearls at all
Eats exceptional kibble for taming. Not sure if thats the prefered but it does eat it
I try to feed it biotoxin But it did not want to eat it
To tame let it grab you and feed it narco’s at its beak, then it’ll pass out like the acro only don’t attack it, it attacks you! Being good gear and lots of narco’s.
They don’t seem to like the taste of black pearl(not eating)
For people who are trying to feed it black pearls (tuso) or biotoxin (acro), THATS NOT THE METHOD! The method is to feed in narcs while it has a tight grip on you and it shows you its beak.

I dont knwo if its a bug or a feature but if the palaeoocopus is pretending to be a coral or wtv under water and you start the taming progress you will not lose oxygen constantly quite the opposite you will gain oxygen after it is done squeezing you
Should make it that theres s new armor under water Ghille that you gotta use to get near it when you get near it you gotta hit its eye making it not see and feed it kibble(exeptinal) till tamed or it should be a knockout both seem good
It’s a knockout tame but you don’t just shoot it with tranqs because it won’t work, instead you need to get grabbed by it and when you get pulled close to its mouth you feed it narcotics or bio toxin and knock it out, then you feed it and there now you have fast water tame and it can walk on land pretty fast and a hijacking ship machine.
To tame the octopus you have to find it on land the it will put its two front tentacles up then you go close and it will grab you. When you are grabbed you are taking constant damage so bring mere and what you actually need to feed him is either narcotic or bio toxin in your last slot. Once he has grabbed you he will periodically bring you down to the beak and it will start a chomping animation, you don’t want to feed it yet you have to wait until the screen shakes and he bites at you to feed him sort of like a parry. If you feed to early or to late he will damage you. Once you feed him enough drugs he will be knocked out and be ready carry out your nefarious plans
