Oh mighty father of the deep

Whose sacred oaths we ever keep,

Who brings the bounties of the sea

In answer to man’s solemn plea,

Grant that we may dwell one day

Forever in Y’ha-nhtlei!

Oh mother who with many arms

Enfolds and keeps us safe from harms,

Who knows the water’s ebb and flow

With ancient wisdom from below,

Please grant that we may dwell one day

Forever in Y’ha-nhtlei!

Oh mighty deep ones of the sea,

To you we pledge our loyalty

And if that oath we ever break

Our willing flesh is yours to take!

And thus we ever humbly pray

To join you in Y’ha-nhtlei!
